The moment Kuhaku realized that they had lost Abel, Miss Belle took off sprinting towards the cliff edge and leaped over the side.
"W-wait! You shouldn't just run off like that!...Alone..." having reached out towards her as she ran off, his ears drooped and he lowered his arm.
As she disappeared into the crimson ocean that was Forever Falls, Kuhaku sighed and looked over his shoulder. Shooting Gren a nervous look, he turned back around and carefully walked up to the cliff edge. Sitting, his glowing blue eyes then scanned the canopy for any sign of the two of them as his legs hung over the side, swinging back and forth. Just as his team had formed up and they made their way back, they had lost a member in the chaos and another to go search for him. As his tail swayed back and forth behind him, he wondered if he was wrong for having enjoyed himself the way he did. Should he have taken things a bit more seriously? Frowning, he grabbed a piece of scrap metal next to him and chucked it at the forest below him.
Addressing Gren, "Should we go after them and bring them b-..." As he turned his words were cut off as he saw two other students approach. One was a human male with red hair, curiously looking at the wreckage Gren's contraption left behind. The other a female with pink-hair, also human.
"What happened here?" questioned the red-haired human male.
Almost glaring, Kuhaku quickly grew annoyed. What's with the humans and their inability to politely greet others and introduce themselves? Wasn't that basic manners and etiquette when meeting new people? The male simply raised a hand and nodded at them, like that was enough to suffice for a greeting. Huffing, Kuhaku turned away and reached up to pull his hood over his head. His tail swaying restlessly behind him from his irritation.
"What's it look like? Crashed." He muttered in response to the male. Sulking, still.
It was then that Abel and Miss Belle had returned, moments behind the Ms. Pink and Mr. Red. Immediately, his mood did a 180 degree flip and his expression visibly brightened as he saw them approach. "Well, that was fast!" Standing, he took a few steps towards them before freezing in his tracks.
His Semblance decided it was time to punish him again.
As the black stripes on his tail and ears faded away to brown and eventually vanished, his eyes lost their glow and color along with his stripes. As he stood there, his voice caught in his throat, he saw the blurred image of Abel storming towards Gren. He was angry for some reason, but Kuhaku couldn't discern why. Abel was shouting or yelling at Gren, but he couldn't tell. His hearing was lost as all sounds became muffled, distorted, garbled nonsense. His skin quickly grew cold as his body broke out in thin film of sweat. Gulping, Kuhaku willed himself to continue walking. Hoping that no one would notice his sudden change in state, his black hood to hide under. He had sustained his Semblance for too long trying to ease Miss Belle's pain. That would make twice today that he had to use his Semblance for an extended period of heavy usage, his body and mind has reached its limits.
Silently, he walked past all of his fellow students and made his way to where the medical team was on stand by, waiting to accept any injuried or wounded students. They were about to be put to work. He stood there, trembling quietly as the medical staff gave him curious looks. One was talking to him, asking him...what? He couldn't hear them, he couldn't understand. All he could do was will himself to stand.
Under his breath, he whispered repeatedly "D-don't forget...don't f-forget...don't forget..."
He balled his hands into tight fists as he began to sway from side to side, starting to lose his balance.
