Bestiary
ItzamnáThey behave like giant 5-7 foot tall Raptors. They lay tiny Grimm eggs, and don’t stray far from their nesting grounds. They hunt in packs. All that sorts of stuff. They are very quick, and have a very powerful bite. Their typical hunting patterns include baiting, ambushes, clever forms of stealth, like rubbing themselves in mud to camouflage their white armor plates. They have red feathers at the ends of their tails, which are quite valuable if kept preserved and pristine. Classification: Midas
NemeanA giant creature resembling a lion of sorts. They are very rare, and enjoy massive caves and caverns as their homes, as only massive caves and caverns will fit them. They have extremely long lifespans, and typically one adult Nemean will raise one child Nemean, in said caves. Nemeans hunt alone, against other massive creatures of its own size. Given their staggering size and power, they are a high-powered Riesen class Grimm, and should be approached in groups to divide its attention. Classification: Riesen
BroodlingsBroodlings are, like their name implies, broods of creatures. Their webbings are coated with an acidic substance. They’re like ants, army ants. They swarm, shoot acid webs at the target, then move in and take the target. They like eating bones. They typically make camp in high up trees, or in caverns they have burrowed themselves. Classification: Klein
AriadneMothers to the broodlings, the Ariadne seldom ever leave their homes, deep underground, beyond necessarily moving to relocate their nests. They lay eggs by the 100s, and secrete a special pheromone that cause them to “hijack” the senses of broodlings that aren’t even their own children to come to their nests. The pheromone is stronger the bigger the Ariadne. They secrete the same acidic substance the Broodlings use in their webbing, though theirs is too thick to form intricate webs, it can be used as a caustic barrier, or a dissolving wrap for prey brought to them. They are considered a Riesen class Grimm, and should be approached cautiously; more than a thousand hunters have lost their lives to their false pride leading them into their snares.
Classification: Riesen
Sitting BullThey are bulls, more passive than most grimm, and they eat grass and other veggies. They are somewhat territorial, if you encroach on their territory they will challenge you, and unless you offer them some sort of gift, like food, or something, they will charge you and throw you around. They are often found in large, open fields or praries, and are often ignored by hunters. It should be noted that some can grow to immense size. Classification: Klein
WendigoTypically living in cold climate mountains, these creatures typically hunt alone or in pairs. They have bladed tails, and as such use them primarily for assassin-like take-downs of their prey. It is unknown what the armguard on their right foreleg, but it could be assumed that the Grimm had evolved from a more humanoid type into a bestial one. They are reknowned for their blinding speed and accuracy, and are considered very dangerous if they catch someone unaware. Classification: Midas
SalamanderA natural tank, the Salamanders are on the tougher side of armored Grimm, being able to comfortable bathe in molten lava without even feeling it. Their golden manes are remarked as being highly valuable, though it is difficult to obtain them, since they usually burn up once the Grimm dies due to the release of its internal body heat. They can breath a highly flammable gas, then ignite it by clicking their tongue against the roof of their mouth, letting them literally spit fire. Larger ones have been noted to be able to condense the gas into a liquid state, only furthering the threat of these Grimm. Classification: Midas
MegaladeusRoughly 30 feet in length and able to swim up to 60 kph, this sea-faring creature is one of the top predators of the sunlight and twilight zones of the oceans. Resembling a shark, this creature’s bite doesn’t have much strength behind it, but the teeth are extremely sharp. Biting through a person is like biting through water for them. Classification: Midas
15 feet tall and 50 feet long, this creature, resembling a dinosaur. Although not the quickest, or the most agile, this creature is immensely heavy, durable, and its jaws are among the most powerful in the world. These creatures have been seen knocking down fortress walls by running into them at a full sprint, then splitting the most heavily armored knights in half with its jaws and teeth. Classification: Rienes
Gastrodon11 foot bipedal creatures, vaguely resembling Gastropods. Historians and battle analysts theorize that Gastadons are somewhat like dedicated war-time soldiers for the Grimm. Their two legs are massive, taking up most of their mass. This allows them to move fairly quickly and grant them fairly good agility. They have two small arms and a small torso, and well as six glands that fire bone like spikes mounted on the shoulders, although after firing a spike, it takes several hours to remake said spike for that gland. The head of the Gastadon is equally as small, and is fairly aerodynamic. Historians and analysts have determined that common Gastadon tactics were to wolfpack in teams of five or six, roaming around and taking shots at targets of opportunity. Classification: Upper-Midas
Halists are almost liquid like, having no real solid form, they are made of two distinct forms of liquid, a bone white liquid, and a black liquid. Halists only appear in locations of high humidity, swamps, large rivers, lakes, mostly near large bodies of water, where the water is dirty to the point where you cannot see through it. The Halists are ambush Grimm, and their main weapon is to throw themselves onto the target and to drown their opponents in their own bodies. If the target proves to be too agile, or undrownable, they are able to shoot themselves into high pressured water spears with high penetration. However, after firing themselves, they are vulnerable, as it takes a long time to reassemble themselves. Halists freeze and then they stay frozen all year long. While they are unable to move quickly or shapeshift like their previous counterparts, they are extremely durable and can form spikes of ice on their body. Crysalists are a recent development in the colder parts of the world. Classification: Midas
Standing at roughly 6 feet, these insectoid Grimm resemble mantises. They enjoy dark areas and places where they can stab their feet into the surfaces and walk on the walls and ceiling. Due to the dark nature of their preferred habitats, these Akrens have developed echolocation, their ‘pings’ range from imitated water drops, to hisses, usually to frequencies the human ear cannot hear. Although, a Faunus would be able to hear high/low frequency pings, as their ears are more sensitive to sounds. Like a mantis, their preferred weapons are their two scythe like forearms, while they use their four legs to walk on walls and ceilings. Classification: Midas
DaturaA mass of roots and plants conglomerated together to form a cohesive body. They sleep for years at a time, during this period they ‘infect’ other nearby plants with their roots, and gain biomass. Their size varies from small, to forest sized. The mask is often split up into different pieces, so that the largest parts of the creature carries it. When it awakens, the largest parts come together to form the majority of the torso, with the mask pieces locking into place.Classification: Rienes
Datura TreantDaddy daturas. Daturas who have grown so large, they can no longer split apart and sleep underground. These Daturas often just sit there, and sleep, causing dirt to accumulate on top of them. As they sleep, they become literal mountains. They are only present during the most critical of battles, roused only by the mysterious Qilin. Classification: Rienes
The
Nidhogg is a rather reclusive and lazy Grimm, but be forewarned; it's lethargic nature is due to conservation, not of lack of care. While blind, it's shrill cries have been theorized to enable it sight through echolocation, and an innate sense of caution allows it to plan out routes ahead of time. Venomous glands under its tongue will release an acidic compound in a highly pressurized liquid stream, and, it's teeth can grind together, creating sparks, lighting the flammable venom. Be warned, they are known for their intelligence above their strength. Classification: Midas
