Kazuki's last summer vacation with Papa!5' 8", 110 Lbs.
"Your heart was destined to be stolen by the Devil."
Those were the last words her mother spoke before she disappeared.
Genkou Ami was a prestigious college professor at who taught sociology at Hopkins. Beautiful, passionate, and exceptionally bright, her mother was loved by her students and peers alike. Following Genkou-sensei's disappearance a thorough police investigation was carried out while her only daughter was sent overseas to live with her father in Japan.
While Ami loved her daughter dearly, spending much of her free time educating and caring for the Kazuki, she was never really a good mother. Their relationship was strangely synthetic, as if forcibly etched together by the hands of a higher power. Ami never fixed her wounds, never read stories to her, never took her out to play, never even kissed her. To Kazuki, her mother was more of a teacher, an exceptionally beautiful mold that she was expected fill when she grew older. It was for this reason that the only true emotions Kazuki felt for her mother was respect (a great amount of it for that matter) and an awkward affection that could hardly be called love.
Kazuki first met her father at Tokyo International Airport when she was ten.
Having been brought over by an old colleague of her mother's, she was forced to sit through a painful fourteen hour flight that was nothing short of a grand pity session. To pass the time Kazuki had simply written her mother's parting words several hundred times in a notebook, everytime rearranging them in an attempt to decipher what she believed to be an encrypted message.
Compared to the professional and graceful Genkou Ami, Genkou Yuta was a carefree klutz who always had a playful smile on his face. Kazuki would never forget the first time she felt her father wrap his arms around her small body and kiss her gently on the cheek. The sudden rush of physical contact and warmth left her mind boggled and her heart drumming. It was that time that she unknowingly fell in love with her idiotic father.
Shortly after meeting her father she was overwhelmed with knowledge. Upon first stepping foot into her new home she discovered towers of moldy tomes, withering scrolls, and strange twisted plants. There was also a sink clogged with convenient store lunch and dinner boxes. It was a terrifying jungle to the young girl, but her father's sugary sweet affection softened even the thorniest flowers. On her first day in Japan where she encountered her affectionate father, she also discovered she was a Witch.
Her father tried his best to educate her about Arcane, Demonic, and Holy arts to which he was all moderately familiar with. He also taught her the basic etiquette that Witches and Mages followed. When asked what he specialized in, Yuta flashed her an wry smile before asking her to guess.
"H-Holy Arts." she had declared bashfully. To this, he laughed in response and spoke playfully.
"I guess that's what I specialized in then."
The years rolled by and eventually she received that strange little letter in the mail. Her father, deciding it was time to travel now since she no longer needed a place to stay, sent her off with one last affectionate hug and sweet peck on the cheek.
As she muttered those four words in Latin, she noticed a crumbled piece of paper in her pocket. Opening the ball she found the sheet of airline paper she had scrawled on so many times. In the midst of her familiar hand writing in large pink letters were the words:
"Only if you want it to be, BaKazuki~" - XoXo Papa ♥
