Welcome to my 1x1 rp thing!
As the name suggests this will be a super hero rp but in a semi-original universe.
NOTE: this rp is loosely based off of the 'Heroes Rise' interactive novels, I HIGHLY suggest reading/playing them.
your character lives in a world where super heroes and powers are common occurrence and mutants can be seen everywhere but the proper term encouraged by the government is 'gened' as a reference to their abnormal genes. The time is quite a ways in the future about one hundred years. There's not a whole lot of advancements in useful technology but one big thing is the eradication of global warming thanks to the powers of the Gened. There is now neural HUDs where you can pull up document from the internet in your brain thanks to micro chip implants in your wrist. Now the city you will be in, Marst (named after it's founder, David Marst) is a very clean looking city. Things there aren't clean in reality but their by no means dirty until you get to the outskirts of the massive city where the slums are. The world is plagued by the threat of super powered terrorism or super villains. Your character will be just your average powered person but is unable to start your long coming dream of signing up with the government and becoming a certified hero, until now. The rp will start on your nineteenth birthday when your finally old enough to take your attempt at the government heroism test. The events of the rp after that will be very different and a whole ton of things could happen depending on how you treat the people you meet and the decisions you make.
Now this rp isn't just your run of the mill rp, its more along the lines of an interactive novel such as the ones made by Choice of games as it will have stats that are needed for you to survive such as health, power levels and infamy. Originally I was much more loose on the implementation of the stats and such into the RP but as time went on it began to strafe farther and farther from what I had originally envisioned for this to be so now I am putting a larger emphasis on using the mechanics within the RPs. There will also be different uses for your powers that will require you to use varying amounts of your power level in order to pull off. Power levels will be covered more in-depth in the 'Powers' section.
In the past I let players completely come up with their own powers which resulted in quite a few awesome characters but it also resulted in a few over powered characters and while this was not the fault of the person creating the character as they had no idea that their characters would be so much stronger than the NPCs, I am still going to have to do something about it that I quasi-intended to do from the beginning. There will be a set amount of power for you to choose from originally. They are:
pyrokinesis
cyrokinesis
electrokinesis
aquakinesis
regeneration
control over plants
'magic' (not real magic and while very powerful has a lot of drawbacks)
telepathy
super intelligence
telekinesis
super strength
super speed
animal-physiolgy
material-physiology
each power will start you off with a few base 'techniques' with its power level cost and what it does (for example say Bob had electricity powers he could start of with a technique called 'zap' that would allow him to shock something at the cost of 2 power levels.) but this being said your character can still do anything else such as using their fire power in a way not described but the downside to this is that they would have no idea how much power levels it would take to pull it off. Now you've heard mention power levels a bunch of times and your probably asking yourself 'what are power levels?' well wonder no longer! power levels is the amount of power that your character can pump out using their powers (for example Bob has 50 power levels, he uses zap, he now has 48 power levels). Naturally, power levels can be raised once more by resting or various other means. Also if you have an idea for powers that you'd REALLY like to do or you have a suggestion for a power you can run it past me and I can come up with some techniques for it.
Heres the CS, now you can make your wonderful Hero of Marst! Also just note that backstory will affect your health, power levels and infamy stats such as if your character was bullied then the would likely have less health or if they were a member of a gang they would likely not be all to trusted by authorities and authority figures.

In the rp there will be times where I take control of your character, it won't be me making huge decisions or anything, thats up to you, but say they were knocked unconscious I would take control of them saying "(your character) dropped to the floor" or if something is required to happen such as them just barley dodging a bullet, then I will do so if your character does not do it on their own.
