On the lonely day of March the 29th, 1999, Dr. Ronald Bishop theorised the existence of mysterious entities whilst giving a lecture at the university he worked in. Not that anybody cared since he was one of many professors at the time, but disturbingly, he presented fossils. Note that it has not gone as far being stated as dinosaur fossils. Rather, it was the things we are all familiar with, depending if we were all alive back in the 20th to 21st century: Pokemon. All carbon dated to billions of years ago. Unfortunately for him, he was ridiculed and considered mentally ill, as his 'colleague' (more of an unauthorised visitor to his archeological site) released the video game 'Pokemon Red and Blue' about three years ago. All just for fame and money...?
Bishop's disappearance was not noticed until about a week later. The only clues leading to his disappearance were gone, never to exist to being with. Fossils, tools, presence of a body, even signs of a struggle in his room... though initially the police assumed it was a kidnapping, they dismissed the idea he was alive as no ransom was ever demanded. No clues meant this was a cold case. But, that was because the police we investigating on the wrong end. And for mysterious reasons, the government attempts to keep tabs on him, wasting thousands just to investigate if a cup of coffee was in any way linked to him, before finding out that a homeless man used it as his way of collecting money. That was not to say he did not have a connection with the people in the big white house, though.
A taxi driver, your doctor, the dictator of a country... God knows what those faces hide.
But Ronald. Today, Malwayne Coast will know. Tomorrow, the world would already know. Because, a man's madness is also his ingenuity, as long as he is successful. And by God, he's getting close to finding out the truth.
If there is a God, he has been usurped by Arceus. But, at least one of them is real.

Don't mistake this as if I've posted in the wrong section of roleplaying. This is an interest check, although the OP is already done - me and several others come from the roleplaying section of Minecraft Forums, or at least what's left of it. Unfortunately had to convert the OP to fit RP Guild formatting, since BBCode isn't QQCode...
Anyway, this roleplay is set during... the present world. Only, an alternate history - Pokemon (their unofficial name) did exist in that universe, and still do - they're just unaware they're Pokemon, half or third of the humans. For an actual setting, everyone's starting in Malwayne Coast, a city in the US, though still unidentified location. Probably on the east or west coast.
There's gonna be some dark elements around, since... well, what would you do if suddenly your taxi driver, your local doctor or dictator turned into a monster? Well, then add the word 'pocket' behind the word, add a bit of realism (don't expect Wailords to suddenly destroy their own houses)... now, it's not going to be blatant racism at first, but there will be a degree of confusion. There will be riots and such, but that's from the anarchy caused by new-found powers. We'll explore the city and country, rescue some Pokemon and humans from bandits, find the source of all of this, trying to fix the source, end up in some really dip shit and having to save the world... it won't be pretty. But hey, at least there's Pokemon around.
Now, I understand there probably are roleplays similar to this. Well to that, I can say it's not like we knew of such ones before this roleplay was made. Either way, we're adding more realism - death and Pokemon fusions. No, we're not going to get mad scientists to conjure up some technobabble. Rather, this will be caused by birth- look, just read the notes for this one. If I had to rebound ideas off someone, that's how confusing it was to explain it originally.
Plot's already done, some people confirmed to come... now, we need interest and therefore roleplayers. Do note the bit where it kinda requires you to stay, or at least inform us that you'll leave - we've been getting a lot of roleplayers that just come and go with our roleplays, which is disappointing enough as it is.
By us, I mean not just me KaBling associated with this roleplay. There will be others, hence some people confirmed to come.
