It would be difficult to ascertain whether what they told me was false, but there is certainly more to this story that was deliberately withheld. Details that would have been useful to me.

Mmm... “artificial” carries with it a certain connotation. They were all digital, and I am not among those malfunctioning. I would also be considered a quasi-mechanical hybrid rather than a digital entity.
