<Snipped quote by Audacious>
You can fly to the top as well, correct?
I can't just fly, but I can ride the air. Might not be as fast.

<Snipped quote by Legend>
I can't just fly, but I can ride the air. Might not be as fast.
<Snipped quote by Audacious>
*A pair of handles that extend from my back break the localized illusion*
Hold on.
<Snipped quote by Legend>
*Raises my eyebrows in an initial wave of shock*
That looks jarring.
*Walks behind you and grabs on with each hand*
<Snipped quote by Audacious>
Make sure your grip is tight.
*A pair of protection runes twist on the ground below us, and I burst forward in a blast of light that erupts from my feet*
<Snipped quote by Legend>
Don't worryyyyyyyyyyyy!
*Looks down away from the air resistance. As we approach, the top of the tower seems to be a round platform attached and suspended from the roof of the tower*
<Snipped quote by Audacious>
*Our ascent slows down and we land gently on the platform*
<Snipped quote by Legend>
*We arrive at the top, where a series of terminals line one half of the circle, almost all of which seem to be deactivated, but none of the displays are online. Electricity arcs between very small pylons on one half, but an identical looking set of them on the other side seems to be off*
<Snipped quote by Audacious>
Do you know the details behind this?
<Snipped quote by Legend>
I don't. This is ancient machinery, and a lot more elaborate than most people build these days.
<Snipped quote by Audacious>
I don't presume you want to try to repair these and risk damage?
<Snipped quote by Legend>
I don't think there's a problem with that. Worst case, you'd just be making them more unusable, which would usually be good. But if what Ahm said is true, someone should be here piloting it.
*Space around the tower is now shifting rapidly, as though we are rocketing through space*
But no one is?
<Snipped quote by Audacious>
Is it possible the tower itself has been malfunctioning?
<Snipped quote by Legend>
I guess it isn't impossible? Can something malfunction from off to on though, and then fully pilot despite it being a complicated machine?
<Snipped quote by Audacious>
I've certainly seen stranger.
<Snipped quote by Legend>
Can you tell what's wrong? I know you're savvy, but I don't know how much this kind of stuff works like what you do.
<Snipped quote by Audacious>
I'm going to have to open both sets of devices and trace their components. Are you comfortable with that?
<Snipped quote by Legend>
Do what you have to do. We need to ground this thing. Even if it is malfunctioning and scouting, I don’t want it malfunctioning and also setting off any doomsday weapons either.
<Snipped quote by Audacious>
*Nods*
I'll get it done as quickly as I can.
*My image becomes translucent and splits into two, and each goes to a set of terminals, tracing any exposed cabling*
<Snipped quote by Legend>
*No loose cabling or otherwise apparently faulty mechanisms seem to exist here, as it is surprisingly similar to conventional modern texh, despite the architecture everywhere else being rustic*
