Well, anyway, since such a thing exists, surely one could cast some kind of spell on a block of ice--and bam, you've got a block of ice in your stomach. No idea why anyone would do that, but it's got to be possible.

How is that not how it works? There's no reason ice would be an exception to direct absorption magic. You could apply spells on it so it doesn't melt, as well. And there are spells that allow you to mold ice. And in a place like Existence, where everything that isn't nonsense is possible, there's no reason to say that it's not a thing.

I mean, imagine if I just walked up and started telling you what was what with crystals. No argument, no debate, just what I say is what I say. Now, regardless of your personal feelings about your own abilities, let's say you have a very strong feeling about them. If that is the thing you do best, then it can hurt when someone simply casts you to the side when a matter arises pertaining to said thing you do best.
