Then there happened to be no reason for Baphumet to murder Nullis other than perhaps as a test run. While keeping that possibility in mind, I looked into possible motives a bit more and discovered that Nullis is not quite as powerless as she appeared. She has no strength, that is true. But she could have stopped Baphumet before she consumed anybody.

She was shot. We have little information regarding the manner of death, but she was found on the side of the street with a bullet lodged in her brain and her body mutilated. We believe she died before being torn open for her Codex Essence.

The issue with that concept is that nothing lies under her control that she can directly affect in that case, which is illogical, all things considered.

In our dimension, we can manipulate some properties of objects just by interacting with them normally. What if higher dimensions enable Baphumet to use simple, non-magical interactions to manipulate other properties?
