We call them the Agi-Atsa, or Light Eaters. They absorb the light from the forest and generate the pearls that they carry. The golden animals are the Ayohi-Atsa, or the Light Bringers. Their fangs alone can cut through the hide of the Agi-Atsa. They take the pearls to the hills where they live, and at the highest point, the life essence gets released back into the forest, empowered by the light there, giving them sustenance and strengthening the life here.
