<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>
Getting serious now if we're up to last names. Didn't you say there was a town or something with that same name?
Yeah, and that he built it.

<Snipped quote by Legend>
Yeah, and that he built it.
<Snipped quote by Heroic>
<Snipped quote by Efficacy>
They do at that. And this one has the biggest—but don't tell it.
<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>
That's pretty neat. What happened after they broke it?
<Snipped quote by Legend>
A lot of people died. Many got away, but so many died. But aside from that, there was a fight, where two of the ones involved in the destruction were killed, and then, well, not much.
<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>
So does having everybody in one huge alliance make it more dangerous for everyone in the end? Kind of like an all-or-nothing sort of thing?
<Snipped quote by Legend>
Not particularly. It give normal people a chance, because alone, I dunno of any civilization that can defend itself from things similar to the stuff on the level that you all fight.
<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>
I thought that smaller and weaker groups weren't normally targeted. I don't know for sure, but if I were a bad guy, I don't know why I would go after some random planet that can't do anything about it, or even how I would know they exist.
<Snipped quote by Legend>
When civilizations die, it's not usually due to some form of targetting. It happens by chance, or by simply winning some jerk's mental lottery. When a bunch of insignificant species band together to protect themselves and one another, the random elements are taken away. And, not only are you out on the map for bad guys, but you're also now on the map for good guys as well.
<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>
I think being on the map of good guys automatically puts you on the map of bad guys.
<Snipped quote by Legend>
That's what I mean.
<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>
I don't know, like, if you're shooting arrows or something, it's much easier to hit one big target you care about than it is a bunch of random targets you're not even trying to hit.
<Snipped quote by Legend>
Now imagine a target, hiding behind a bunch of obstacles, making it harder to hit, while also moving. It's trading obscurity as a defense for the ability to actually defend yourself. Isn't that way better?
<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>
Now all the targets are bundled together in one little package. They might have a little more defensive power, but I think it was probably much better when they weren't a threat at all.
<Snipped quote by Legend>
I dunno. I mean, they've functioned so far.
<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>
...Okay.
<Snipped quote by Legend>
Is everything okay?
<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>
Yeah, everything is great. Why?
<Snipped quote by Legend>
You sounded bummed out.
<Snipped quote by GalaxyRaider>
Nope. I'm good.
