<Snipped quote by Revolutionary>
No idea how it works, honestly.
"Wheel" gives me the idea that it has some semblance of randomness to it. I'd never trust a weapon like that with my life, if that is true.

No idea how it works, honestly.
<Snipped quote by Legend>
Shinji:
Well, hazing is typical in that. This is essentially a military op, so expect me to be on you like white on rice this entire op. We cant afford one mistake. Not one slip up. Anythign we do wrong is an advantage to the enemy. If you survive the onslaught, youll be transported back to the base and rewarded for your efforts. Would a form of payment in credits work for you?
<Snipped quote by souleaterfan320>
Really?
<Snipped quote by Revolutionary>
But an unsustainable one.
<Snipped quote by Etcetera>
How?
<Snipped quote by Revolutionary>
There's only so much matter.
<Snipped quote by Etcetera>
Will that limit ever feasibly be reached though?
<Snipped quote by Revolutionary>
*Nods*
Virtually every planet cannot sustain life. Even if you were to take all matter and make it habitable, not only would you run out, but you've inevitably integrated yourself so far into the lives of all affected that they're reliant on you.
<Snipped quote by Etcetera>
I dunno. You can put people just about everywhere, in some way or another. I dunno if I can imagine Existence ever getting full like that.
<Snipped quote by Revolutionary>
It's more than just running out of space. A centralized system like that inevitably collapses.
<Snipped quote by Etcetera>
I'd argue that comes from lack of anyone having the experience to run one that big.
<Snipped quote by Revolutionary>
I'll admit, I very much favor a hands-off approach when it comes to people, but at the same time, I don't think it's possible to manage anything that big, regardless of experience.
<Snipped quote by Etcetera>
Not alone.
<Snipped quote by Revolutionary>
So in that same line of thought, I think that anything that works also works when scaled. If management will fail on a major scale, I think it is all but a failure on a small scale, especially with the rate in which it would grow. People multiply like rabbits when they can.
<Snipped quote by Etcetera>
I can agree to all that.
<Snipped quote by Revolutionary>
That's why I think universes should probably be pretty independent. If they solve their own population problem, great. If not, they'll just have a smaller population.
<Snipped quote by Etcetera>
It's hard to tell people, though, "Hey, you're on your own. Nope, ignore you're neighbor. You can't help each other. Do it yourself."
<Snipped quote by Revolutionary>
That's fine, but for the most part, dimensions and species are isolated. Once extradimensional creatures start interfering, it gets really quirky.
<Snipped quote by Etcetera>
It can, but I wouldn't call it an absolute.
<Snipped quote by Revolutionary>
Why not?
<Snipped quote by Etcetera>
I mean, it's a bit of a generalization, don't you think?
