Nearly all schools of grammar see alright as incorrect, although Oxford says it's okay to use it informally. it says that since many people see alright as totally incorrect, in formal writing you should probably use all right instead.

My AP/IB/GT English teacher said that "All right" was outdated, even in formal speech, and to use "alright" instead.

Now that is something very untrue. No school of grammar sees all right as outdated, and all still prefer all right. One person's opinion is not that of the people who make the language. But since it's not heavily controversial, unlike the Oxford comma debate, unless one makes a big deal about it, it's each to his own. And I'm not going to make a big deal out of it (unless you say it's outdated).

I didn't. And I didn't say I agreed (I agree with the fact that "alright" is much neater and pleasing to the eye), but I will continue to use that form. In addition, I don't see where I will come across the need to use either form in formal writing.

So much IC, so little OOC. I'm just saying something before the 24 hours are up.

I also just saw a roleplay description when looking over the nation RP section that was littered with scientific errors:
"Reality has 11 dimensions, as predicted by quantum theory. The higher the dimension, the more apparent power one has. At the 11th dimension there is a membrane from which all began. Is that membrane a sentient being? Perhaps. Is it nothing more than a membrane? Perhaps. Whatever the case, those from higher dimensions are often worshiped as gods and goddesses by those from lower dimensions."
The whole premise is based around the thought that dimensions as predicted by string theory, not quantum mechanics (it is never called quantum theory), are actually separate places, or that beings can be "from" them. This is silly; they're just like the first and second and third dimensions that we see. Just more complex projections of the same objects. A point in the first dimension to a square in the second dimension to a cube in the third to a tesseract in the fourth (in geometry, although really the fourth is time and not spatial). And besides that, the other 7 dimensions would not even be like the kind that we talk about in extra-dimensional geometry (I just made up that name now), but instead places for one-dimensional objects that vibrate throughout those extra dimensions.

No, the one with what Ruby did. And I had though I'd mentioned that Ruby's order field prevents her from being touched, and is partially the reason for her force deflection. In retrospect, the post replying to him sweeping her off of her feet should have been completely different xD Let's just redo that part.

I don't believe time is necessarily the fourth spacial dimension.

Blargh. Well, each to his own. I despise biology, a few people I know absolutely adore it.

It isn't a spatial dimension. It's just a dimension. Minkowski space (the combination of the 3 spatial dimensions and time) is necessary for any meaningful projection of the universe, so time has to be the fourth dimension. Unless Minkowski Space can do with a different fourth dimension.
