Yeah, I think its because its less popular, so they make less profit from it.

Because MC is terribly programmed; that can probably be fixed by allocating more. If not, 16 gigs won't make it all that much better. 16 is recommended because it's future proof, but 8GB won't hinder your performance for at least two years, probably closer to five. If you want to spring for 16, it's good future proofing, but that's about it.
It's difficult when I'm not sure what you're doing. If you're upgrading, I have to make sure that what you're getting is compatible with your motherboard. If you're building from scratch, then you get to look for the cheapest and best parts.
I didn't understand this last sentence at all.
<Snipped quote by Meta>
I'm trying to upgrade but if I build from scratch and the harddrives are compatible then fuck it. I just want a better computer so I can play new games.
And with MC I've allocated all 8 and still had problems.
<Snipped quote by DarkwolfX37>
Your hard drives cannot be made incompatible. A hard drive is SATA, period.
MC has terrible programming; that's why. That, and your GPU is dirt.
<Snipped quote by Meta>
Then I'm fucking upgrading, aren't I?
My computer has a motherboard issue.......
I don't know how that's relivent, I don't do well with actual computers, I'm just the engineer.
<Snipped quote by Araby264>
Nope. Do you?
<Snipped quote by Meta>
My computer's GPU I think
<Snipped quote by DarkwolfX37>
I don't know at all what you want to do. Computers are modular; you can do either. You might be able to get away with just buying a new GPU.
<Snipped quote by Araby264>
So does Sven's. Hmmm.
<Snipped quote by Meta>
I'm just trying to be able to play newer games. Would those three parts do that? What do I need to get?
@Meta
No my GPU is connected to the motherboard. Or at least this is whay ive been told is wrong with my computer.
<Snipped quote by DarkwolfX37>
No; your motherboard is not compatible. You could get a new one and just reuse your case, but you would probably be better off with a new GPU alone. I can run through a parts list and find you one (though no guarantees that Minecraft in its current state will run perfectly because it runs perfectly on next to nothing—however, you'll certainly get major improvement) if you'd like. It would make literally every game better and probably max most of them out.
<Snipped quote by Meta>
As long as I don't need a new harddrive I can replace everything else. Just tell me the best parts to get. I've got about 1100 to use, but the cheaper for the most benefit the better.
<Snipped quote by DarkwolfX37>
My only reservation with starting from scratch is that you don't improve all that much other than the GPU. Processor technology has been kind of stagnant (though recently, there's been some mumbling about a potential uproar in that field), motherboards only change to adapt to new ports, and RAM speeds won't affect gaming performance. You'd get essentially the same boost with nothing but a GPU upgrade. If you have your heart set on a new build, I can help you, but if all you care about are sheer performance gains at a decent price, you can go straight GPU.
