Isn't it the same as any other emulator?
Yeah, anti-consumer is trending right now.
You've gotta use iso files and the rom posters put them out in parts usually which is annoying.

ISOs? Why?
<Snipped quote by Meta>
That's just how the PSP is. It used discs so the emulator uses isos.
<Snipped quote by DarkwolfX37>
I dislike this. But it's also dumb that they didn't use cartridges.
<Snipped quote by Meta>
Well remember that at the time it was bleeding edge technology. It was in an effort to create huge games that could run without lag and run games on the level of the PS2 on a mobile system. In retrospect the disc system was stupid but it made sense at the time. Luckily the Vita uses cartridges, I just wish they'd digitize more old PSP games for the Vita store.

Discs were worse than carts in terms of loading.
<Snipped quote by Meta>
Not really. This was GBA era when carts somehow got worse than they were on GBC.
I'm really sorry.

I responded to this over an hour ago but it didn't show up =/
I said that discs could store a lot more than carts at the time, but the data accessing times were still lower. Compare loading times on the Nintendo 64 to the PS1.
<Snipped quote by Meta>
True, but these were basically PS2 discs made smaller. The loading times were pretty astounding until the end of the PSP's lifetime, when the DS and maybe 3DS were out.
<Snipped quote by DarkwolfX37>
I'm just glad that the Switch uses cartridges. Discs are antiquated technology these days.
<Snipped quote by Meta>
I'm surprised it does. I prefer cartridges since they can't crash randomly because of stopping spinning. Discs still have some benefits, though.
<Snipped quote by DarkwolfX37>
Such as?
<Snipped quote by Meta>
Cosmetics, coolness factor, sometimes still data storage...
<Snipped quote by DarkwolfX37>
Cosmetics how? IMO carts are cooler. At this point, flash memory holds more. If you don't care about speed though, the place to go for cheapest storage is magnetized tapes.
<Snipped quote by Meta>
There's nothing quite like a CD in terms of cool looking data storage, except maybe floppies.
