After the Lord gave the original ten commandments (Exodus 20), he also gave other commandments (Exodus 20:23-23:33). A similar thing happened here: there were other things that the Lord said to Moses, besides just writing the new tablets. The quite logical explanation is, then, that the Lord wrote the new tablets and gave them to Moses. Then the Lord spoke other words and told Moses to write them down. The content of the tablets is not recorded in Exodus for a second time, since the content was the same as originally.

Actually, there's a more "logical" and canonical explanation in christianity. Moses broke the first set, and so he went to god and asked for his commandments once again, and god gave him the second set. In all technicality, the first set which christians always boast about was never even in play.

"No, the goat boiling 10 Commandments is the only set in the Bible that refers to itself as THE Ten Commandments (Exodus 34:28: "He write on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments"). So this second set wasn't just miscellaneous laws.""There are three versions of the Ten Commandments in the Bible. Two of them are very similar, Exodus 20:2-17[2] and Deuteronomy 5:6-21.[3]The third version, in Exodus 34:12-26,[4] is radically different, and is the only one which the Bible refers to as "the Ten Commandments". This is the second set which were given to Moses following the destruction of the first tablets when he suffered from an anger management failure after witnessing the Israelites worshipping the golden calf. While it has a few similarities to the original set, it does not include well known rational commandments such as "Thou shalt not steal" and "Thou shalt not kill"; but has instead instructions about holy days, not cooking kids in their mothers' milk, and God expresses a distaste for sacrifices containing both blood and yeast (although either alone is apparently quite acceptable). God says (Exodus 34:1) that this second set was also written on the first pair of tablets, so the "Ten Commandments" from Exodus 20 are probably not the Ten Commandments at all."Exodus 34:1 - Now the LORD said to Moses, "Cut out for yourself two stone tablets like the former ones, and I will write on the tablets the words that were on the former tablets which you shattered.Exodus 34:28 - And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.Exodus 20:1. No other Gods2. No graven images, or worshipping them3. No taking the Lord’s Name in Vain4. Remember the Sabbath Day5. Honor Thy Father and Thy Mother6. Thou Shalt Not Kill7. Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery8. Thou Shalt Not Steal9. Thou Shalt Not Bear False Witness10. Thou Shalt Not CovetExodus 34:14-28:1. Thou Shalt Worship God and Him Only2. Thou Shalt Not Make Molten Gods3. Thou Shalt Keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread4. The first born or all things is mine.5. Six Days Shall You work, but on the Seventh thou shalt rest6. Thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, and three times a year your men children shall appear before the Lord.7. Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leaven.8. Neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the Passover be left unto the morning.9. The first-fruits of thy land shall you bring unto the house of the Lord Thy God.10. Thou shalt not boil a kid (baby goat) in his mother’s milk."And the LORD said unto Moses, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first: and I will write upon these tables the words that were in the first tables, which thou brakest...and Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up unto mount Sinai, as the LORD had commanded him, and took in his hand the two tables of stone. And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD....And he said, Behold, I make a covenant: before all thy people I will do marvels, such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation: and all the people among which thou art shall see the work of the LORD: for it is a terrible thing that I will do with thee. Observe thou that which I command thee this day: behold, I drive out before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite. Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee: But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves. For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God: Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice; And thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods. Thou shalt make thee no molten gods. The feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep. Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, as I commanded thee, in the time of the month Abib: for in the month Abib thou camest out from Egypt. All that openeth the matrix is mine; and every firstling among thy cattle, whether ox or sheep, that is male. But the firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb: and if thou redeem him not, then shalt thou break his neck. All the firstborn of thy sons thou shalt redeem. And none shall appear before me empty. Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest: in earing time and in harvest thou shalt rest. And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year's end. Thrice in the year shall all your menchildren appear before the Lord GOD, the God of Israel. For I will cast out the nations before thee, and enlarge thy borders: neither shall any man desire thy land, when thou shalt go up to appear before the LORD thy God thrice in the year. Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leaven; neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the passover be left unto the morning. The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring unto the house of the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk. And the LORD said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel. And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments."And let's not forget that jealousy is a mortal sin
