I reeeeaaaaally don't want to write it. The topic is sooooo duuuuuulll. And our English teacher this year is so elementary, it's ridiculous. And she dislikes me, since I often prove her wrong, which apparently upsurps her authority or something. But this is how stupid it is. I had to show up after class today to take a quiz I missed, and it was over it's vs. its, there, they're, their, which vs. that, and your vs. you're. It took me five minutes.
whizzball1 said
XD That would probably be the easiest quiz ever,
Host said
Yep. There was one question that took me more than five seconds to answer because it was a rule exception.
whizzball1 said
The only set I can think of that would have an exception would be which and that. What was it?
Host said
It's that set. "My brother likes cake that is sweet."Although "My brother likes cake" is an independent clause, the sweetness, which is defining cake, modifies it so the dependent clause is defining the cake that he likes, rather than cake in general.

Ah. Although really the answer is easy to get to in retrospect. Which would sound terrible and would obviously be contextually wrong.

That moment when you don't have school today so you go to the state fair instead.

Lucky.

Yeah. The elementaries had a parent teacher conference day, so they had to let the junior high and high school students out too. And it's just our district, so it won't be crowded at the fair that I live twenty minutes away from.

Nice,

You should come. They have fried Texas pies this year.

I can't. Too much HW. Need to pass this six weeks.
