Conflict isn't always man vs. man. Svár's just a part of it. We've got the inexplicable mercs, the ever-increasingly dangerous splitting of Ruby's mind, and at the same time dealing with the emotions of one part loving Arthur and another part hating him. Good literature should not only place focus on living villains, but emotions, nature, etcetera. Man vs. himself is my most preferred of all central conflicts, and it's the biggest focus in the story I'm writing.I know that perfectly well. In comparison to me now, the naïveté of me back then is incomprehensibly terrible.
Man vs. Self is often used in mine as well. Nature, not so much.
