The Harmonics are a species of noise; they make heavy use of echolocation and have over the course of thousands of years developed from a chaotic powder keg that came on the verge of self-destruction in at their dissonance, to becoming a very harmonious society and going on to be one of the two first species involved in the forming of the Harmonious Network.

The linguistic information of the Harmonics is not based in 2D text, but rather a brallie-like script. Alongside the cultures that developed such script are cultures that made strong use of rune-like etchings that the nature of Harmonic echolocation can “see”. However, oratory was the most common form of speaking in their civilization for thousands upon thousands of years much like the human Incas.
Another thing to note is that due to the lack of sight the Harmonics have, all their art is sculpture based and designed in ways to “feel” through the reverb the sculpture gives back. Another major art for them is music, which has been used as a “language” of its own to extents not even humans have used music to convey information. Their music even today still makes heavy use of cords and string based instruments like the Fulzi, although the digital revolution had augmented the nature of these instruments significantly in the same way a keyboard became a synth.
Harmonics have a deathly fear of silence, and despise isolation preferring to always be in the company of others regardless of who or what they are since constant communication and action keeps the silence from creeping on them. The worst punishment a Harmonic can be dealt in the harmonious network is the silent room where they are forcibly muted and placed inside a cold, dark metal sphere for long periods of time. In captivity they constantly are known to talk themselves at a very frequent rate, and constantly make noise in order to keep the silence away even if they have barely any energy to do so. Their innate fear of silence is well expressed in the following quotes from millennia ago in two of the ancient texts of pre-network harmonic civilization of Bjiros;

Harmonics as a species naturally are very tolerant of other life, mainly since other life regardless of what it is, proves to be better than silence. However, discrimination on ideological grounds and guilt by association for a atrocity are sadly very common in Harmonic nature. Politically they only have ever been unified by force by conquerors, and usually not for long as such monolithic unification is seen as order. Order being not a good thing, as order leads to silence, and silence leads to the spiritual death.
Religion: The current harmonic faiths date from around 3000 years ago, and the dominant religion of the harmonics is belief in the divinity of the patterns. Such belief entailing that there are a multitude of patterns that constitute the meaning of existence, and that there is a cosmic sonata that is never ending- and that the meaning of existence is to keep the symphony going by keeping the music of existence in a harmonious state.
To keep the cosmic symphony going, there must be harmony. Harmony to the Harmonics being the state in which chaotic/dissonant forces and stable/silent forces are balanced through there being suffering and happiness in equilibrium to each other, and in a rhythm of balance.
Average Lifespan: Even with medical technology, they only live up to 200 years on average. Mind this is with medical technology, and used to only live on average about thirty years. Their short lifespans can be attribute to their metabolic needs.

Harmonics do not really sleep, and apparently lack any of the side effects not sleeping can bring instead they constantly are purging bad chemical build ups in their head. Diet wise instead of eating a few large meals, they constantly snack and as a result fast food for them has been a tradition going back thousands of years and eateries like those humans have are relatively uncommon, but wherever they show up they tend to be built with social space in mind and generally have musicians playing in them.
History: Harmonic civilizational history pre-warp and pre-network can be summed up in five phases- Silent, Classical, Global, Digital and Stellar
The Silent Era lasted around a several thousand human years and is mostly irrelevant as in these times the harmonics were but primitive stone age civilizations living in darkness and obliviousness of the stars thanks to the poor eye sight of harmonics and the thick atmosphere of their world whose view of the universe was completely dark and superstitious. Due to the lack of much surviving written record form the time and the only things of their civilizations left being surprisingly impressive stone ruins built into the walls of the clay desert canyons and dense alien jungles that characterize the hot and very humid climate of Roika these era often is considered the Silent Era.
The Classical Era is notable for the increased use of tools, and the invention of the many intricate woodwind and string instruments found in many of the classical cultures of Harmonic civilization, most notably the Fulzi. As well the first concepts of harmony, at least in the proto form, which assumed divine beings were involved, come from these times. The classical era ended when every culture begun to eagerly interact with each other and create a global network with Iron Age technology.
The global age was a complex and strange age. First it was relatively peaceful beyond the wars of succession colonial powers that eagerly went about assimilating the less technologically fortunate civilizations. However, at some point the age became incredibly violent as famine and constant plagues struck the world. Even worse, the world was inexplicably heating up. The discovery that the universe was far different that previous cultures and civilizations could ever imagine did not help the increasingly nihilistic philosophies that spread to pretty much every civilization.
As the world heated up, so did the nature of war between the petty harmonic civs. War after war started over the small tracts of land still unclaimed that could be farmed, family lines between diplomatic marriages falling apart as suddenly every nation claimed parts of other nations and the stability being scorned by those who believed the world was going too silent led to a very violent world. Seemingly overnight, the Harmonics went from a stable multi-polar world to a dissonant mess of warlords and criminals who desired nothing more but to make more and more drama in the name of keeping a purpose to existing. Yet in the chaos of the late global age, there was a harmonic civilization relatively safe from most of endemic warfare.
That civilization to gain technological superiority over all the rest thanks to their digital technology allowing them to organize their forces beyond what the steam punk tech using civilizations in most the world had and took over with their own more sophisticated, and better built airships.
and in the mess left by the rest of the world managed to sweep through and take over every nation with relatively little resistance.
In doing so, the First Domain managed to unite the world in conquest and bring about the digital age as they spread information age technology throughout the world.
The digital age started with the First Domain focusing their efforts on consolidating the world and cleaning up everything, to balance the dissonance that the previous centuries had and later focusing on trying to escape their high gravity planet as the world became more and more inhospitable. They managed to succeed when the first warp drive was made, a technology that allowed the Roika to voyage to worlds far beyond their little planet once thought to be all of creation and by the year 2300 the first Harmonic colonies on other worlds began to emerge starting the stellar age.
The stellar age usually is considered to have started with the fall of the first domain and the rise of the second domain, as well as multiple other competing harmonic factions in their corner of space. By 2400 contact with the Octomanos took place, a species who would innovate rapidly through diplomatic spies and managed to bridge the tech gap between their three competing military protectorates. However the harmonics liked the Octimani for no other reason that making space loud again with their existence.
But peaceful contact was short, as an octomani colonial ship ran by a particularly inept organization massacred a developing Harmonic colony and inadvertently ignited a major war called the Perpetual Stellar War in the year 2460 that would result in the fall of the second domain as it fell to Octimani occupation. The other factions of Harmonics would manage to fight the war to a near stand still through a coalition that managed to “liberate” the Second Domain. However, the war by that point started losing its purpose by the year 2550 as the inertia that kept the war going at first died down and cultural contact/trade continued between the various factions who now begun having mixtures of both species.
By the year 2600 the Harmony Project between the four factions left after the Perpetual Stellar War was collectively proposed by the Third Domain, of which the Octimani would surprisingly enough said yes to- and in the year 2700 all the factions would become part of the Harmonious Network.

History- The custodians appeared in the Harmonic Network around 400 years ago after centuries of evolution within the network and the amassing of data that eventually allowed for the creation of intelligent programs that overtime became sentient enough to act among the other species of the network and even carry out the collective proposal to the network very spectacularly about 350 years ago.
Overtime the custodians took on a unique role in the Harmonic Network that has made the network what it is currently- a Decentralized Cybercracy as the custodians gave themselves roles that no other species had, for instance they managed to
Minor SpeciesWhile all species are equal, there are some species of which there is simply less of. This section will hold any minor species known to have been discovered by the network of notice. The policy with planet bound civilizations tend to vary, but depending on ideology tend to either be leaving them alone in their own world or to have them integrate into the network through collective proposal. There is no limitations put on integrated client races at any stage of their development, but generally they have major culture shocks from the vastly more advanced network in comparison to their stone age societies.
FactionsThere is five major factions, unified by the Harmonious Network, but beyond that have serious cultural/political deviations and demographics separate from the whole. There has been war between the factions, although rarely have these gone total with a couple exceptions [mainly the Great Divorce]. These five factions hold around 84% of the population as citizens to them second to the Harmonious Network. Travel between the factions tends to be easy thanks to the network apparatus.

Information- The sector of commerce are a faction that is very merchant-based in nature and follows a loosely regulated trade model, and is the most prosperous of the factions from a financial standpoint currently, although the economy of the sector of commerce is notorious for its frequent and near unpredictable fluctuations. Despite this, they have been the major hot spot for people from the failed faction AWAFT as well as other less rich factions in the last 100 years contributing to the Sector of Commerce’s increasing power.

is chosen by the custodians based on the information they’ve interpreted on what kind of people are needed in the current state of the network. The council tends to be made up of folk from around the whole network, and they act as a think tank for the whole faction. While the council think tanks try staying secret, the transparent nature of the civilization and the data obsession of two of the major factions usually means that ever so often a leak will happen. However, there is also quiet a bit of misinformation that flows around the HN council’s meetings.

The planetary level economies tend to run off various more simplistic forms of economy, and tend to have their internal currency systems, but when dealing with the faction economy have to use the faction currency which can vary which has many times led to economic catastrophes for individual worlds, especially those who are less adapt at riding the ebb and flows of their faction's economy.

Industrial- The industrial productivity of the Harmonious Network, between all five of the sub factions is astounding in the amount of products produced. Entire asteroid belts are regularly strip mined for resources by the many powerful corporations that employ billions of workers. The varied economies between the sub factions also have given multiple routes in which industries develop, although some economies are better managed than others.
Social- The Harmonic Network is a very diverse civilization, and has enjoyed a large diversity of minds thanks to its population and high rate of idea exchange through the net work. Atop of this, diplomatically the factions of the HN are surprisingly open minded and usually will try making what deals they can to obtain data before resorting to calling in their sophisticated espionage firms.

Technological Overview
The technology used throughout the network is incredibly diverse, with a multitude of gadgets sold in planetary markets across their civilization and the heavy use of fusion batteries and a plethora of technology collected and stolen from other civilizations by various corporate groups and organizations and from there usually distributed throughout the net work due to spies spying on spies.
However, there are a few notable technological achievements that define the harmonious network, as it exists today.
History- At some point a millennia ago, there was four regional factions, three of which harmonic, one of which Octomani. As civilizations go, they had many tensions but even this early only cooperated to achieve harmony in the Harmonic’s sense- ritual warfare being a common norm for centuries in these archaic interstellar times.

The harmonious network is a powerful interstellar network that transports objects through a virtual medium and living entities through a sprawling worm hole network that connects the parallel reality across a vast sum of space. The nature of the harmonic network however, has made it out of control by everyone but the Custodians.
The harmonious network is around eight hundred years old, and is ran by the custodians who have considerable power over the whole network even if they do not bother with politics of the factions instead just happily dwelling in the virtual space and keeping the network secure from anyone who tries to hack or subvert the network. After eight hundred years of development, the network has by now transcended those who made it, being improved not by Harmonic, Fozin or Octomani technicians but instead the Custodians who are native to the network itself.
For the Harmonious Network is not just a internet, it’s a parallel reality in effect. It’s not a server that is run, it’s a parallel nature of its own accord that has internally consistent properties and laws, and while parts of the network can be modified to suit the regional needs of a colony world within the HN,
By this point the network uses a connection system that allows for a brain to flow into the system and transfer themselves to other parts of the network a the speed the wormhole connections can allow. Atop of this are the wormhole networks themselves.

Avatars are incredibly common within the Harmonious Network, to the point where a good portion of the Harmonious Network have completely done away with their physical bodies and instead inhabit the digital network with the custodians through the synaptic network that allows one to transfer their consciousness to the network without actually killing anyone. Avatars come in insanely diverse forms, ranging from tiny insect-like walkers to gigantic spaceships controlled with a consciousness on the fly.
The avatars are made use of frequently in wargame scenarios and in espionage missions using the aggregated data on how each species behaves and acts, and copying the appearance of a individual is no hard task for the megacorps that dominate in the systems of commerce and
