Name

Floyd Conlon

Age

Twenty-Eight

Height

Five Foot - Nine Inches

Weight

One-Hundred Fifty Eight Pounds

Ethnicity

White American

Build

Athletic Physical Condition

Personality

Conlon's motivation as a sniper is money. He is driven by money - because it is the only thing that will keep his family safe. Because he needs the money, he will not hesitate to kill anyone who gets in between him and his target. However he does show remarkable character by sometimes taking longer routes to allow non-targets live. Conlon had always been all about ethics and honor before his gun-for-hire days, suggesting that he wasn't always borderline-sociopathic, this was merely a personality adjustment that eventually consumed him. This is shown by his overwhelming wish to die doing something honorable. The only thing he truly cares for is his daughter, Ushio, whom he leaves money in a blind trust and tries to keep her life safe and easy by staying away from her. He has several pictures of her in his implanted system.

Job

His actual job lays in Crater Bay where he basically helps unload the ships with Earth's supplies. The hard labor allows him to build muscle and keep a low profile within the community. He works the morning shift, clocking in at four in the morning and leaving at around noon - unless given overtime hours. But his real job lays after hours in all parts of Byzantium City. Conlon becomes a gun-for-hire during the night and takes any kind of job to get the money he desires. This money - like stated before - is sent to his daughter to help her remain in Greater Downtown. Though the profession is not the safest nor envious profession, it does pay very very well. Floyd Conlon is a man that is willing to give his own life for his daughter, not fearing death, but welcoming it.

Residency

Outward District

History

Like most people that moved to Byzantium after the fall of Earth, Conlon lost someone - his pregnant wife Nancy. They had a fine life on Earth, but as the destruction started, everything had gone to hell. When the economy collapsed, they had to move out of their home because the inability to pay the costs. But once it started to become a wasteland, the two decided to move to Byzantium for survival. Unfortunately, the government decided to implant every human being with cybernetics - a new system that would help regulate the new world. These implants were the cause of Nancy's death. Her body rejected the microscopic nano-bites that connected to her cerebrum, making her - at first go insane - then dying from a cerebral infection. In the process of her death, their unborn son also failed to see the new world. Conlon was stripped of the joyous wonders of being a father and having a family.

Conlon never got over this new process, blaming this established government for the death of his family. At first, he attempted to get revenge by attaining the governments attention, causing local problems in Greater Downtown. Soon enough, the authorities had taken him to the Health and Wellness Center, or as they called it back on Earth - prison. That's when he found out that they could track his every thought. The authorities could stop him before he did anything wrong, which put him in a bad spot. Since they could read him, he was unable of taking the government down before they knew he was coming. Therefore, he started to attain information from certain rumors.

Now living in Outward City, he had to find a way to get off the grid. As an old motorcycle mechanic and graduate of MMI, Floyd was able to understand the system with a little help of a contractor. He became capable of shutting down the thought-sensor part of the cyberization he was implanted with. This didn't stop the government from reading him like everyone else, it just hid every malice action and thought. It was like a virus that only affected a certain sector of the system.

With no money left, he started to work in Crater Bay, only place that would hire him with his background. He eventually turned to theft in order to pay his living expenses in the torn down section of Byzantium. But even having gone through the Health and Wellness center and life in the slums, Conlon had yet not forgot his mission to strip the government of everything they had created.

But one day, that dream had changed.

After the vaccinations had passed, people refrained from opening up certain messages through their personal systems. But unlike most, Conlon was not afraid to open these messages, somewhere in his mind believing he wanted to die. But what he found was not what he expected. Just a single picture, one of a small little girl playing with a ball. Underneath it, "Hi Daddy :P - From Ushio"

Other info will be revealed in the IC, the bio is getting too long.

Other

It's been three years since the death of his wife.

NPCs

Info: Now living in Greater Downtown due to Floyd's contribute.
Relationship: Daughter of Floyd Conlon and Heather Claire

Info: Passed away with unborn child.
Relationship: Floyd's wife.

Info: Had sexual relations with Floyd during his marriage and ended up pregnant
Relationship: Ushio's mother

Name: Joachim Lévesque

Age: 29

Height: 5’ 10”

Weight: 162 lbs.

Ethnicity/Nationality: French American

Build: Mildly athletic, toned

Personality: Joachim isn’t too fond of people - not out of spite, but thanks to the sum of cases he’s had to go through as a police officer. He’s seen his share of savagery that humankind is capable of at the most base levels, and it’s affected his outlook on life and people in general. He resolves to live in the moment, enjoying himself as much as possible, so that when his time comes, he can say that he’s had a good life. At the same time, he’s wary of others around him; in his mind, there’s no telling what someone can do at their worst. Of those who he trusts and cares about, he makes especially sure to see them safe and shielded from harm; the likes of which he’s had to deal with for nearly eight years of his life.

Job: Ex-Police Chief – AI Operator

Residency: 4th Point – Residential Sector

History: Like many others, Joachim saw Byzantium as his ticket to salvation, following the crisis that had wracked Earth. Things were going downhill fast and as a police officer, it was strenuous work to try and put a lid on the unrest haunting residential areas. At least one gunfight a week became the norm, sometimes more. Dealing with gang-related murder, burglary and other felonies all at once became too much for Joachim to take anymore, and it was off to Byzantium.

To his vexation, the psych-exams recommended him for police duty again. Only this time, Joachim would oversee a section of AI sentries stationed in the Outward District. The job was certainly safer than he’d had been used to on Earth. No longer on the frontline, Joachim could manage the sentries via monitors within his patrol craft, or even back at headquarters for local duty. It started out as what seemed like easy work and Joachim appreciated the change of pace.

However, just because he was not in the field himself, didn’t mean the job was necessarily a comfortable one. As more and more refugees from Earth flooded Byzantium’s outposts, the Outward District saw an influx of those who had either failed to meet Greater Byzantium’s standards or were deemed unfit to live there. Gang activity rose steadily, and slowly Joachim drew parallels between the mess on Earth and the activity within the Outward District.

A pessimism towards human nature that lingered inside Joachim during his last few months on Earth snowballed into a much greater distaste. The crimes he’d been dealing with were escalating in brutality and the fugitives he’d been processing through rehabilitation were responsible for a fair share of cold-blooded atrocities. Though physically safe from the danger, Joachim’s mind was not shielded from the cases he’d had to endure, and they lingered there.

During an annual psych-examination, the feelings Joachim had stored in his cyberbrain were detected, and he was recommended by his doctor for an alternate line of work. Now on a waiting period of undetermined length, Joachim awaits his next list of potential assignments and spends most of his time in Central Downtown to get his mind off “man’s primal nature.”

Other: Joachim’s favorite pastimes include cigar smoking, watching and casually betting on Graviskate, admiring the girls of the red light district, building and painting plastic ship models and recreational shooting.

Wow, nicely done QT and Astro! You both did great work on their sheets. I love how Conlon is willing to immerse himself into chaos, while Lévesque is just trying to get away from it all. Both are gladly accepted.

Before I get started on my chars, I plan on updating the OP with NPCs later on tonight. If there is anything anyone would like me to add to the MISC INFO as part of the RP's lore, don't be afraid to PM me, or post it on here. I'll update it when I can. Byzantium is as much yours as it is mine!

Appearance:

Name: Chester "Chess" Dune

Age: 38

Height: 5'9"

Weight: 170

Ethnicity: Caucasian

Build: Stocky

Personality: Blunt, somewhat crude, tends to get in people's faces and can be quick to anger. Despite those unsavory aspects there is a heart of gold underneath all the rust that is his personality it's just deep down. Chester can very outgoing and will speak mind constantly, weather it's to his benefit or not. What friends he did have he always treated well and was fiercely loyal, however betrayal time and time again has left him someone hesitant to stick with people as of the past few years. And contrary to his looks he's not completely incompetent, however book smart wouldn't be the proper word to describe him, something he could care less about.

Job: Waste Management/Criminal

Residency: Outward District

History: Before coming to Byzantium, Chess had little in the ways of work. He was a garbage man for while, and he stuck with it for a while just because it payed so well, earth was basically one giant landfill anyway. He had already be inured in way robbing and petty theft at an early age and it was second nature to him despite having an ongoing job. He fortunately managed to hide his identity on earth while robbing, securing his entrance into Byzantium. He ratted out his old crew on earth after one tried to kill him and get away with all the money, and thereby securing them to not show up on Byzantium, despite this he worries they'll somehow find away. At first when he was screened and given a job in 'Waste Management' he was ready to fight someone, thinking it was a glorified term for garbage man, however he ended up in warehouse with tons of other schlubs sorting through Earth trash looking for anything worth while. he considered it a step up in the world of garbage.

Even though he once again had a job, he managed to maintain his life of crime, theft isn't as easy as he came to found out on Byzantium, but the punishment can be. Chess has been caught twice, the first one was a major robbery, where someone had seen his face. A few weeks in room, saying yes and no when you need to is just a prolonged slap on the wrist. However the guards down in the Outward don't like him so much anymore, something they'll just have to deal with. The second time was a little harsher, a mild public disturbance turned into outright fighting.

Chess just bides his time, working, watching graviskate games, and getting drunk, the real fun in his life is robberies. He just need to trust a few people and to find the right place and time.

Other: He collects 'Junk' from earth that holds importance to him, usually small things, old keys, kick-knacks from a time long gone.

Just wanted to sign on and dump my char here before I take a nap. Nice job whisket! I have a feeling Chess is going to get along fine with Noah's brother Kipper.

Name: Noah Dulorme

Age: 27

Height: 5'11

Weight: 165 lbs

Ethnicity/Nationality: Cuban-Irish American

Build: Athletic

Personality: Gutsy, winner-takes-all-type attitude; Noah isn't the kind of person that backs down from a challenge. Adrenaline junky. Thrill seeker. Fearless. Reckless. Smartass. Those are the types of words that people often use to describe Noah, but they're merely surface level observations. In truth, Noah is more thoughtful than he plays himself out to be. He's a mediator of sorts, the guy you see trying to break up fights, opposed to starting them. And the negative connotation received from those who view him as some Outward street punk, vastly overlooks his more impressionable qualities.

Noah is surprisingly quick-witted and well-learned, but the social circles he interacts with doesn't leave much for intellectual stimulation. He secretly wishes he could travel to Beacon and personally meet Dr. Qadir, just to pick his brain about his grandfather's revolutionary work in artificial intelligence. He wants to learn how Byzantium maintains its ecosystem. Understand the step-by-step process of cyberization surgery. Grasp whatever he possibly can about the science behind how the Buildmasters managed to construct an orbital space city that now provides shelter for millions.

But machismo means everything in a place where people take pride in the more simpler things in life. Anything beyond the spectrum of booze, sex, motorcyles, drugs, and graviskate, is considered different. Weird. Weak. Noah doesn't want that social stigma dangling over his head, not when he has a reputation to think about. No, he'll keep his mouth shut and leave those brainy questions locked away in that cyber brain of his. Not like anyone he knew had the answers anyways.

Job: Warehouse Worker/Amateur Graviskate Player

Residency: Outward District - Little America - 6th Point Parallel

History: Noah Dulorme was born during the Florida riots in 2062. Despite the state of emergency mandated after the collapse of martial law, it was a beautiful day to be brought into the world. His father didn't think so; Thomas Dulorme feared for his sons lives, and he didn't want another child of his to be brought into a hellhole just to suffer. Noah's mother, Zarah Mckenzie Dulorme, slapped his father several times for thinking that way. "Stop being such a puss, Tom! He's got Cuban and Irish blood flowin through him! He'll be a tough bastard. Just like his brothers will be tough bastards." Noah is the youngest of the Dulorme sons; Arthur Dulorme is the oldest, making Kipper Dulmore the middle child. They both looked after Noah when their parents were killed. Even after 25 years, they've yet to talk about their mom and dad's passing. Some things are just better left unsaid. They lived in their house for most of Noah's childhood. Food was mostly scavenged, but sometimes the neighbors were nice enough to offer warm meals. It worked out fine, until the food was no longer edible, and starvation forced people into cannibalism. Arthur made the decision for his brothers that it was time they braced the open road.

After days of aimless traveling, they eventually stumbled upon a drifter that was kind enough to escort them to a commune shelter. However, about halfway through their trek, the Dulorme brothers realized that this good Samaritan wasn't so good after all. He wanted something in return, something neither of them were willing to give up. The drifter ended up being the first person those boys killed. Noah was nine at the time. From that point on, Noah made a vow with his brothers that they weren't going to live like prey for the rest of their lives.

The next several years were spent surviving the chaotic wastelands of America. Doing so, shaped each of them into toughened men. They were leaders of their own marauder gang. They lived by a code. No women, no kids. If you broke that code, they broke you. Simple as that. For a time, they were content with this lifestyle, until Noah went scouting into new territory and stumbled across a fortified outpost.

Now, each Dulorme brother has their own version of how they ended up on Byzantium, but the fact of the matter is, all three of them made it onboard. Having gone through the cyberization procedure and the tutorials about the Byzantium lifestyle, they were unbelievably stoked. Each of them had their own plans, all of which included lots of money and lots of women. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out like they hoped. Neither brother was qualified to do any job in the Beacon, Residential, or Greater Downtown area. The only assignments they were suited for were the processing jobs in Crater Bay. And to top it all off, they were housed in the lowest sector in the city.

The Dulorme brothers were less than thrilled about the cards they were dealt. Sure, it beats living back on earth, but the place they were staying at wasn't as glamorous as the other side of that wall. It wasn't all that dissimilar from earth either, what with all of the gang activity and street violence happening around almost every corner. The Dulorme brothers found themselves in the same situation they were in all those years ago, back when they killed that drifter and realized how the world was going to be from now on. It didn't take long for them to go back to their old ways. Arthur, Kipper, and Noah, formed up a hovercycle gang, recruiting its members from their own neighborhood in Little America. They're more like watchdogs than troublemakers, protecting their side of the block from the lunatics running loose. They called themselves "The Outward Law", and are a well known gang in the sector.

Other: As a peaceful means of competition against rival affiliates, Noah participates in unsanctioned Graviskate games. He is an Archer Player on his team, and has won countless matches throwing accurate baton bombs from long distances. The Outward Law Squad is currently ranked #3 in the sector.

Name: Triss Merrill

Age: 28

Height: 5'

Weight: 112 lb

Ethnicity: Caucasian

Build: Triss has a slim build, giving her a small frame. She often appears quite a bit smaller then others.

Personality: Triss is a very weak person. She wasn't always like this, but has changed greatly due to the trauma she has endured on Earth. She is a meek ans nervous person, shying away from others and often fearing strangers, especially those she finds scary. It is easy for her to become attached to those she is close to and thinks can protect her. She can often be submissive and caves in under those with stronger will then her. The things she fears most is being kidnapped and separated from those she is close to.

Despite her meek personality, Triss is very smart. She is well learned and well read, and has become well versed in the mechanical workings of Byzantium City and how it keeps afloat. If the apocalypse on Earth never happened, she would likely be a very successful person. She is also a survivor. Having only recently been rescued from Earth, she knows how to take care of herself better then it may appear. She is not physically strong but is quick and can use weapons. She knows how to take care of herself, although she may fear having to do so.

Among those she considers friends, she can open up a bit more, but even in their company quickly becomes a recluse when they join others. She may even be prone to cracking a joke in the right situation. She finds difficulty in saying no, and is not prone to sharing her ideas with a group is a decision needs to be made, even if she feels she is right. Above all Triss merely seeks to be among those she trusts and those she thinks can protect her.

Job: Triss is one of the many engineers that keeps the city in working order. She has a brilliant mind for repairing and creating technology.

Residency: Residential Sector

History: To most the wasteland back on Earth was an awful place. To Triss, it was a living hell. Triss was once a normal girl, but what she experienced on Earth shaped her into the timid person today. She has learned to fear others, because Humans are awful people. Triss was always weak, but when the apocalypse happened she learned just how weak she was. When everything went to hell she and her family joined a group of survivors. It was her parents and her younger sister. For a while everything seemed alright. Life was hard, and they had to scavenge for food, but they kept away from others and learned how to survive. It seemed safe in the small community they created. They lived peacefully, and for a while everything was okay.

But soon Triss learned that there could be no peace as long as they stayed on Earth. Her community may have lived peacefully, but as society collapsed, there were those who sought to enjoy the chaos. Those who wished to exploit others and do as they please. Kill, rape, steal, it didn't matter to them. Anything to break free from the society they once lived in. They dabbled with exotic drugs that warped their minds and their bodies. They were crazed and violent. One such group found Triss's community. They were, of course, hostile and attacked them. It was a bloodbath. Almost everyone who Triss knew was killed. By what seemed to be a stroke of luck Triss was not killed in the initial fighting, but Triss never counted herself as lucky.

The drug addled gang of murders took Triss as a prize. They took the heads of her family and friends as prizes too. The gangs hideout was a hellish place. An old military complex filled with prisoners like her. Most rooms were covered in blood, and a cacophony of screams would keep Triss up most nights. They had a room dedicated to displaying the other prizes they kept- the heads of those they killed. The things that happened to Triss there were unspeakable. It was truly the definition of hell, and this is the place where Triss learned the truth: Humans are awful.

The gang that kept her was very large, numbering in the hundreds. It was only natural that many other groups were overpowered, and people like her constantly came in. However this was a mistake on the gangs part. As more and more groups were killed, and more captives taken, they slowly began to outnumber their captors. Eventually, through sheer force of numbers many escaped. It was hard for an untrained gang to keep a hold of that many people, especially in their drug addled state. Triss eventually slipped out too, but she was permanently changed. She spent the next several days wandering the wasteland, avoiding others, constantly hungry and thirsty. She barely lived, and almost like a mirage in the desert a building appeared before her. It was almost unscathed in the wasteland.

Triss found her salvation in one of the many Byzantium outposts. She managed to pass the psych test to enter, she got the cybernetic implants, and she was taken to the city high above the wasteland that was Earth. It was like a dream. She never thought she would escape Earth, but she ended up in an unimaginable paradise. Triss was always smart, but in Byzantium she sought to learn more. She learned how the city works. She learned how it kept afloat. She learned how to repair the many mechanisms that operated it. She was assigned as an engineer. She escaped hell. She now lives a happy life, but in the end, how long can it last?
