Foiend stood just inside the forest, he could smell her. He could smell her fear, and he could smell the demon. He smiled to himself knowing that he was going to try all he could to sway the demon side of the half elf to do his biding. Which would to bring the damn dragon shifter to him by dawn. He bent and cast a circle, drawing runes that would call to the demon side. He then sat and waited. He would wait till night fall, when the runes would have their full effect on the demon. He smiled, oh that stupid Araile, putting herself in the way of a demon. She might think that he was on her side, and sure the demon probably thought that too. But that was because that other half of him ruled the roost during the day, Foiend held high hopes that the demon side of him would have more power at night. He chuckled lightly to himself and watched as the circle and the runes dissolved into the earth, ready to pounce when the time was right.

Araile stood looking out over a cliff, she had told Darrken that they should stop for the night and rest, tomorrow they would devise a battle strategy on how to beat Foiend. She wouldn't dare tell him but she was nervous. She was nervous that her time was running out, that her good luck would no longer save her life. She wrung her hands, and looked back at Darrken, he was still building the fire. He wanted it big enough to cook on and to keep them warm over night. Araile turned away from the cliff and tried to wipe the fear and nervousness from her face, she headed towards the fire and sat down, curling her legs around her she watched Darrken work.
