not really my cup of tea there, the only way I would feel comfortable with one like that is if my character took the girl in or helped her out somehow.

Hmm. Depending on the age of the characters, it could be something like... she was sent there as a part of some... criminal rehabilitation program.

I've got a rich girl looking to escape her surroundings for a while. She's about 26, very worldly, very sophisticated. I think a stint in the countryside would either calm her immensely or drive her completely up the wall.
