"are...are you not thirsty? cause I'll take this if you don't want it."

Well, she was pretty thirsty. With one eye trained on her, Effie chugged down the drink and swallowed it in one gulp with liquid splashing down her chin. She wiped it hastily before it could stain her precious armor in which she felt no hidden desire to clean. The woman seemed innocent enough; maybe she could just slack of this once. But the sober part of her said "no", demanding her to pay attention to her surroundings. She was in a bad spot, this Effie knew, and so she decided sleep would be the best to cure it.

"I'm gunna g'to sleep."

dammit...... i need to use my chance..... NOW OR NEVER ryuko knew that this would come but she thought she had more time.....

at first sitting there just in silence she looked down trying to think of what to say..... she could fuck this up in so many ways but she hasnt got enough time to think much which was hard even without a time limit because of the alchohol.

ryuko decided on what to do and then slowly put her hand on the shoulder of the woman. sho looked up to her with a seducing smile and winked once "can i come with you?"

...... afte ryuko said that her head exploded with questions why she did such a weird thing. why did she go for this attempt? it might work but the chances are 1/1000. on the inside ryuko was extremly nervous hoping that this would work but on the ouside she keept up her act.

The tavern had a new patron. In walked in a hooded figure cloaked in green, with nothing to show but two iron gauntlets adorning each hand. When he sat down, the innkeeper offered him a drink, but he refused and requested only a flagon. When his needs were met, he conjured up a greenish glowing liquid and filled his flagon. He drank in slow, civilized sips, unlike many of the other drunks around him."'Ey, you. Wanna fight?"It was a common drunk, but in his hand he looked like he was wielding a spiked club. May an intoxicated thug. The hooded figure did not move."I said, you wanna fight?"Again, the figure did not answer. The thug drunkenly lifted up his club, but the next second later all the spikes were gone. They had seemingly reattached onto the newcomer's gauntlet. The figure plunged his spiked hand into the thug's face. The drunk reeled back in absolute terror, clutching his face in horror and pain. He stumbled back into a gathering of his cronies. Under normal circumstances a bar brawl would've broken out, but what ordinary man could make spikes attach to his hand? Maybe he was a warlock, a magic user. The hooded figure returned to his drink.

"That is one way to deal with an idiot. Katherin commented as she turned her attention towards the magic signature that entered the room. It wasn't one that she was familiar with. But then again these weren't the type of people she usually interacted with. It would be good to have another magic user in the group. She wonder what type of magic he used.

Kieran flew high into the sky with a piercing, shrill call. As nature could be cruel and punishing, so could he. Kieran tapped into his natural magick to cause the clouds above him to swirl and swell. He had brought a storm above the entire town, rain dumping down in buckets over the blonde elf, hoping to stir a reaction. If he had a proper mouth at the moment, he would have laughed. Instead, he flew off in the direction of Cana to find a place to rest in the woods for the night. He would return to the tavern in the morning to meet up with the pitiful city-dwellers and embark on their journey. He hoped a great many of them died.

Alir mutter something evil under her breath and pulled her hood back up over her head and pulled her half mask back up. She stood up and sprinted then launched herself off the roof and landed on her feet she then turned and went into the tavern and pulled a coin purse off of her belt and handed some coins to the tender for a room for the night.

The hooded figure stood up and approached the table of adventurers. "Pardon me for impaling that man in the face, but idiots will be idiots." He glanced down at his bloody right gauntlet. "I understand that you are looking for a sword or spell for hire. Well-" He shook off his green cloak, revealing an elven body and face, but somehow more... graceful. A complete set of iron(?) armor covered his fragile yet strong body. A longsword that seemed to be emitting a faint greenish light hung by his waist. An emerald-hued shield was slung over his back, and a carefully-wrought iron helm adorned his head. "-I offer both." He turned to Katherin. "I hail from the Feywild. There is magic there that one cannot simply learn, and some kinds unable to even manifest in this world. There is more than meets the arcane eye, milady."

"Many magics can not be learned. Some simply are. My magic contains spells. Most of it is from with in." Katherin told him. Spells did her little to no good. She had paid to learn a few. But most of the magic she knew came through trail and instinct. "Do you specialize in a type of magic?"

"From within? A sorcerer, perhaps? Those are hard to find nowadays. Well... I find myself more skilled in the school of enchantment. You know, like healing allies, disorienting foes, controlling minds, etc, etc. But more or less I enjoy studying other schools of magic, and could probably best your typical mage in any one you choose." He puffed out his lanky frame, obviously very full of himself.

"That is a large aray of spells." Katherin commented. " I know a few healing spells but most of my magic comes from the winter so it focused on ice and snow." She smiled at the sound of the magic users over inflated ego. She had met many such magic users during her travels.

Effie played with the idea in her head; but then again, she didn't even know the woman's name. And she wasn't drunk enough to put herself in that much danger. While sleeping, she could do anything to her and Effie was not ready to be vulnerable to a possible enemy. No, she would already have to endure nights on her little adventure and so she decided that this woman would be spared from her sleep kicking.

"No." Effie said, dropping the act of being insanely inebriated. No point in it now.

She left before the woman could say another word and travelled up the stairs, even though she in all actually had not paid for a room. There wasn't a point to pay for a room. Picking one at random and crossing her fingers, Effie bent down and struggled to put her pick into the lock. Every few seconds she would twitch her hand and little snaps would be heard. Finally, the door opened and it was revealed that nobody was in there, to Effie's relief. And so she kicked the door behind her, stashed a knife under her pillow and mattress, and closed the window. She didn't bother undressing and instead fell flat into the bed, praying that nobody would get the key to her room.

Nyala found herself yearning for the longhouse. This way of living, so many people packed in so tightly yet separated by so many walls was boggling. Her people saw themselves as family, and living entirely under one roof made the winters much more survivable. About the only place she enjoyed were these places, the taverns. They had much of the feel of the long house. She vastly preferred ranging, striding boldly through the forest and, now that others were fading into the night she considered such herself.

"I will see thee anon, upon the morrow," she stated as she rose.

The tankards had warmed her belly and she was ready to wander the dreaming. Striding confidently, she stepped out into the rain. Unlike the city folk she wasn't concerned. They seemed to fear water. She instead turned her face towards it and felt it upon her skin. Such was a gift of nature, a gift of nourishment that fed the land and cleansed it. Pulling out one of her axes she leaped upwards, hooking it on a limned sign and swung up to the rooftop and let the city guard be damned. It was the fastest way to move through this city and she yearned for soft grass and loam beneath her bare feet once more. Within short order she was outside the city walls and moving through the brush and between trees. She'd rather hoped to encounter the druid from inside the tavern, he and his wolf, but picking up the trail could take hours and that was assuming that the druid didn't take precautions or use magic to conceal traces of his passage.

Choosing an area of raised ground she strung up a rain cloth between the trees and sat beneath it, carefully arranging her weapons beneath it. Then she set about setting up a fire. That the wood was wet didn't matter. City folk didn't seem to understand that wet wood, save for rotted timber, was dry within. Pulling out a knife she whittled out enough kindling from dead brush to get the fire started and then pulled out her tinderbox. Soon enough she would be dry but by then she'd be asleep. Then she would awaken with first light and move out to meet those upon the quest.

Kieran soared through the sky in complete freedom. The rain wicked off of his feathers as he did so. He caught sight of the barbarian that had taken his interest in the tavern early and followed after her from the sky. Cana howled up at him from below, indicating that she wanted to sleep for the night. Deciding that was best as they had a long journey ahead of them, he began his decent. Kieran landed on tree nearby the barbarian's makeshift tent, digging his talons into the tree branch to keep secure. After making sure he was positioned in a way that he wouldn't fall out of the tree when he inevitably shifted back to his elven form, he settled in to sleep. Cana scratched at the earth beneath the tree and settled into a tired ball of fur. Once Kieran was perched and ready to sleep, his magick faded and the rainstorm cleared up.

Most people that are still at the tavern dont look like you could get a free stay from.

Ryuko let out a loud sigh and then restet her head on the counter. i think ilp just sleep here and wait for some nice guy to pick me up..... she thinks as she slowly falls asleep

Cagan sighed, he needed to get to sleep but he needed to think of a way herd his recruits in the early stage of the journey. Walking outside to see if the rads were big enough cagan was amazed by the cold outside compared to the heat of the tavern, he suspected it was from all the people stuck together. Tripping over something as he walked the crusader was met with a young lady at rest outside. Confused as he remembered her well the boy nudged her wake gently. "now now the ground is no place for a lady what are you doing out here my dear" the man responded keeping good care of were his things were, well aware she was dangerous.

"now now the ground is no place for a lady what are you doing out here my dear"

Ryuko heared these words as she slowlywas being waked up. She rubs her eyes and looks around to see that she was not in the tavern anymore...... the owner of the tavern propably threw her out.... the secound thing she noticed that the man who woke her up also was the man who recruitet her today in the tavern. She remembers that she just acceptet without even knowing what the quest was....

Ryuko slowly stood up and looked and the man a bit akward "uhmmm.... h-hey...." this was her chance to not spend the night on the ground so she better wount blow it like last time.

Cagan smiled at the girl offering his hand to help her up, his eyes gleamed with amusement and curiosity at the girl. In truth he wasn't sure that helping her was right but by his code of honor the boy knew that he had no option. "come on now surely a woman of your caliber could afford a room, to thing my warriors wont a a good night's sleep what a shame" Cheered the boy smiling as a jester of his hospitality hoping to not scare her. Truthfully he knew the crusader's had a bad rep, being more savage then any others but he was a diamond in the rough.

Sleeping with sheathed sword tucked into the nook between head and elbow Nyala awoke the next morning to the sound of small birds, their ululating mating calls resounding through the branches overhead. The sun was not yet out, at least not below the forest canopy but the birds could spy it as it crested and greeted it gaily. Nyala, as with most woodsmen, was a light sleeper and she awakened instantly. Unlike city folk those who dwelt in the wilds could not afford to sleep in, nor slowly rouse and peer about groggily.

The others in the city would not awaken for some hours yet and even then would not reach the city's gates and be ready to venture out on their quest until some time after. That gave her some time. Not having any notion that the druid from the tavern was near Nyala moved deeper into the forest. Stories often told of maidens bathing in serene pools and standing under waterfalls. Such things were rare. Nyala made her way to the nearby brook, a slender stream of water that scarcely reached her knees. Shedding her clothing she waded within and washed herself of bodily odours and the smells the city had inflicted upon her.

While bathing she considered the upcoming quest. She, the druid, and the archer were likely going to need to forage for those questing. There were a lot of mouths to feed and the less they relied upon rations the longer they would last. Hunting involved a spear. She would have to craft herself one after she finished bathing. She carried several spearheads in her gear in case she needed to go hunting, and hafts she could fashion easily enough from her environs. She also had bowstring and arrowheads but fashioning a bow would take dissimilar woods, hewing wooden slats, lathing, wetting and curing before finally binding those dissimilar woods into a plane. She didn't have anywhere near that amount of time.

Kieran had awoken the the serene calls of the abundant avian forest life. After shaking the sleep from his eyes, he sat up in the tree, now in his elven form. His eyes flicked down to Cana who was also now awake and chewing on a rabbit's leg. Noticing his stirring, she looked up and offered a prime piece of the meat out of respect for him. "No thank you, Cana. You can eat your kill in peace." he said to his lupine companion.

With eyes closed and legs crossed, the druid would appear to be in deep prayer or meditation perched up in the tree. It was a form of prayer, you could say. Although Kieran agreed with much of the dogma of Obad-Hai, his drow blood kept him from strictly adhering to the true neutral nature deity's ways. Nature itself was his religion instead, and he spent every morning communing with her, preparing his spells for the day. This was the way of the druid.

A snapping branch interrupted his moment of peace and he looked down to see the barbarian woman awake and walking somewhere. With interest, he finished his prayers and hopped down from the tree to follow her. Being more beast than man, her nakedness did not bother him, not in the slightest. All creatures were born that way, humanoids were the only ones strange enough to change it. "It is good to see that I will not be the only one to wake before the sun throughout our journey." he said choppily in the Common tongue, which came less naturally to him than Druidic, Elven, or Sylvan.

Katherin listened to sounds of the others. She was worried that most of them seemed to be mercenaries. She had traveled with a few mercenaries over the years but she tried to avoid them because you couldn't really trust them. She would have to stay on her guard during this quest. After awhile she took up her can and headed up the stairs. She carefully made her way up to her room. She breathed a sigh of relief as she closed the door. She sat on the bed and began to get undressed.
