[IC] Stranded

The summer before the school year 2014 was going to be a good one, there had been a cruise sign up at the end of the school year and Brooke had been looking forward to it. She had begged her foster parents to let her sign up for it and they had after a month or so of begging. She stood on the deck of the ship waving to her parents, the ship was already loaded with all the students that had managed to get their parents to agree to the trip.
The boat set off and Brooke took her things and went to her room, a week or so ago a program detailing the trip had arrived in the mail, once she went over it with her parents she pored over the information that was for her, telling her what room she was in and what was allotted for her to do while on the ship. She was in room 112, which was a quaint room, with a twin bed and a bathroom, a closet and a dresser. It was enough for her for the next week. She set her bag on the bed and started unpacking, once she was unpacked she put on some shorts and a tank top.
Jhett was already in his room 123. Unpacked and ready to go. He laid on his bed for nothing better to do.

Two days into the trip:
A huge storm hit the pacific, knocking the boat off course, everyone had been advised to return to their rooms and not leave them. Suddenly there was a huge boom and the entire ship shuddered. Water rushed into the cabins. The ship had wrecked, many died in the crash but those few who managed to survive, ended up Stranded on a deserted island. No one knows where they are at.

Luc woke up the morning after the wreck. He'd found a deep indent in a nearby rock formation to spend the night in. It looked like it was a good thing he did because the puddles and dripping leaves told him it had rained the in the night. He stepped out of the indent and into the sunlight. The first step made him wince. He looked down and saw that he had a burn on his leg that covered most of his calf. -Oh great! What am I supposed to do with this?- he thought angrily. He found rock and sat on it, examining the wound. It looked pretty bad, but not early as bad as it felt.

Angel blinked in the sunlight, currently dappled across her face. She had taken refuge beneath a palm tree by the beach, too scared and confused last night to find any better shelter. To be honest, it hadn't been that cold of a night, but soaking wet from the water and in shock, she had gone to sleep shivering.
"I wonder where I am..." She murmured softly to herself, standing up unsteadily. She had dried out, at least. Walking along the beach slowly, she took in the calm waters and clear blue sky. The only thing to remind her of last night's crash was the various bits of wreckage drifting in - hopefully some of it would come to some use. Glancing up as she heard a small exclamation of pain, she saw the back of someone - a boy, sat on a rock, looking at his leg.
"Excuse me?" She called out softly, as if disbelieving there was someone there. The idea of other survivors hadn't even occurred to her yet, for some reason. Running forwards and flinging her arms around the boy's neck in a hug, she laughed in her sudden joy at seeing someone else alive.

Luc Jumped in surprise as arms flung themselves around his neck. He grabbed them and pried them off, gasping for air.

"What? Are you trying to KILL me?" He shouted, rubbing his neck. His eyes met with those of a girl. Another survivor of the crash. He wondered how many others there were. Heck, he wondered IF there were. "Sorry..." he said when he saw that he'd scared her. "It's probably not wise to jump on people."

"Yeah... I was just so happy to see someone. I thought that I was the only one left." Angel replied with a sheepish smile. The boy looked familiar - someone at her school, she thought.
"I'm Angela Harris, in the 10th grade. Everyone calls me Angel." She introduced herself with a grin that showed off her dimples, all negative feelings gone now that she was stood talking with someone. Glancing at his leg, her eyes widened slightly. "Ouch... That looks bad." She muttered with a wince. Other than a few minor cuts and bruises herself, she was pretty much unscathed from the crash. She hoped, at least.

"Yeah. It's pretty bad." Luc said quietly. "Luciano Rex. My friends call me Luc. I'm a senior."

Bobby woke up with her face in the sand. In fact, her whole body was in the sand. After dazly getting to her feet and taking a look at her surroundings, only then did it hit her. The memories came flooding back; the cruise, the crash, the death - oh the screams of the deceased. She was dressed in a blue t shirt and jeans that were slightly ripped and frayed from the crash, and minuit scratches and bruises had a place on her body. Nothing too serious besides a gash on the left side of her forehead. She wondered if she was the sole survivor or if there were others.

In that instant, she heard the raising of a voice. Desperately trying to find the source of the noise, she laid her eyes on two figures. One was sitting on what appeared to be a rock and the other was standing in close proximity to it. Making her way through the sandy, she stalked closer to them until she was right behind them. "Are you guys from -insert highschool name here-?" she asked, trying not to catch them by surprise.

Brooke stood up shaking her hair out of her face, her clothes were plastered to her skin and she was covered in sand. She didn't remember much about what had happened last night, but she knew that she should NOT be standing on land right now. She looked around her, what she saw surprised her. The cruise ship was about 50 feet from the beach that she now stood on, it was cracked in two and on fire. She heard no noise, no screaming, not a thing. The wind picked up and carried voices over to her, she turned and saw a girl and a guy by a rock a little further down the beach. She started over to them, they had to know what happened, because Brooke hadn't the slightest clue. She found herself praying that Yvette had made it through whatever had happened.

Jhett sat up, his head was on fire reaching up he felt the back of his head. He must have hit it on a rock because when he pulled back his hand it was covered in blood. He tried to stand up but his vision got a little blurry, so for the moment he stayed put. He looked around, spotting the wreck of the ship, it looked horrible and the thought that everyone on that ship might be dead scared Jhett. He found himself wishing that he had stayed home now instead of coming on the cruise.

You know we could pay for a cruise we could go on as a family her foster mother said. Panic rose in Yvette’s chest at the thought. Alone on a boat with them. And especially him. She couldn’t do it. It’s to make friends for high school… A fun trip with other kids my age Yvette had said softly, not wanting to be confrontational but not wanting to miss out on this trip. Her ‘parents’ had finally given in and signed her up, giving her permission and even taking her shopping for all new clothes and swimsuits. She thanked them and hugged each one goodbye before boarded the boat. She didn’t wave goodbye though, glad to be away from them for now. The further she was from them the more she felt tension in her shoulders ease. She went to her room aboard the ship and unpacked a few things. She was wearing her bikini under her clothes, which were high waisted jean shorts and a loose long sleeve shirt. She tied up her hair into a ponytail and kicked off her flip flops, relaxing.

When the storm hit, Yvette panicked. She was not equipped to deal with such things. She was told to go to her cabin, but she couldn’t be alone. She tried finding her friend Brooke, but as she was about to knock on her door water poured in the hall and began filling the cabins. Screams. Hitting walls. Salt water pounding her face. Then blackness.

The blackness gave way to a bird call and a slight breeze that made the hair on Yvette’s arms stand up, salt from evaporated sea water covering her skin. Her eyes ached as she slowly opened them, blinded by a brilliant sun and water lapping her toes. She dug her fingers into sand, and slowly sat up, a raging headache hitting her. She groaned and closed her eyes again, not wanting to think about the possibilities of the dire situation she was currently in as she sat in the sand, face in her hands. She knew if she was going to keep living though, she had to get up and move. So she forced her sore, wobbly legs up and began walking. ”Hello!? she called, but her throat was so dry and scratchy no one far would hear. She coughed some and just walked further, when she saw a figure sitting on the beach. She began jogging, recognizing Jhett as she got closer. She knew him from school, but only from smiles when she glanced up and saw him or small waves in the hallway. Her cheeks blushed slightly as she ran up to him, realizing this was a heck of a time for their first real interaction.

”Jhett!” her hoarse voice came as she jogged to him, breathing heavy as she fell on her knees about a foot from him. ”Are you okay? Have you seen anyone else?” she asked, concerned. They couldn’t be the only two right?

Jhett about died when he saw what looked to be a vision of an angel coming towards him, This is it, I am dead...I thought I was just hurt but I died...wow. Jhett started thinking about all the things that he had wished he had done, but then he felt rather silly when he saw the closer she got it was just Yvette. He sighed and smiled, "As far as I know its just you and I, I cant stand up I hit my head somehow and I am real dizzy." He still thought that Yvette looked like an angel, but right now was not the time to do so.

"Yeah. I thought all the kids on the ship were from the same school... Well, I;m at least glad to see I'm not the only survivor." Luc stood up and winced as a hot pain shot up his leg from the burn.

"Trust me, so am I," Bobby said in a half chuckle. She slightly recognized the boy and the other girl beside him from school, briefly exchanging glances in the hall way. She knew that the boy was a senior and the girl was a sophomore. Just as she opened her mouth to introduce herself, she noted the large burn on the boys leg. "Jesus, what happened to you?"

"I'm not really sure, but it hurts. I hope it doesn't end up killing me." He'd seen too many episodes of Lost. Injured and sick people almost always died one way or another. "So, who are you?" He asked the second girl. "I'm Luc."

Water. That was the most prominent thing Kaleb remembered. And tasted. He sputtered, a mix of salty water and sand on his mouth. As he let out a low groan, he felt more water lightly push him onto the sand. Sand? No, he was on a boat, where was this sand from? Finally opening his eyes, Kaleb blinked a few times as he sat up. Sand, sky, ocean, and a forest were in his view. It was somewhat jarring, considering the last thing he remembered was asking the crew why the fish sticks tasted so bad. No wait, that was before he jumped into the pool. No wait, more importantly, why was he on a beach and not on the boat? What happened? Where was he? Taking in a deep breath, he calmed himself. Alright, from the look of things, he was on some beach somewhere and he was totally alone. Not cool.

"Oh boy." He said to himself. Picking a direction, Kaleb began to walk the length of the beach. He couldn't possibly be the only person there. Right? Right.

Brooke was lost, she had thought that she had seen someone but she had tripped on a rock and fallen down and rolled down an embankment and now she sat dazed at the bottom of it. She stood up once more brushing herself off, and looked around. She saw someone, it looked to be a guy walking towards where she had just rolled down. She started running towards the figure, "Hello?? Is there someone there?"

Yvette smiled back as Jhett seemed relieved to see her. Her smile quickly faded when he mentioned hitting his head though, and she moved behind him and lifted his hair around to see what the damage was. It looked like he had a gash that could have used stitches, but here on this island well… some sort of washing and bandage just might have to do. That’s when she realized how tore up her shirt was anyway. She ripped at the sleeves until she managed to pull them off, getting up and taking one over to the water and soaking it. She came back and warned Jhett that this would probably hurt as she used it to wipe away the blood and dab at his cut. It was bruised badly and that probably hurt him more than the cut she figured. She used the dry sleeve and tied it around his head like a bandage. ”There, you can be a karate master until it scabs over,” she said with a smile to make him feel better about the piece of fabric being wrapped around his head. She looked past him, just now noticing the wreckage of the ship. Her eyes widened and she began to worry that perhaps they really were the only two left. She bit her lip and stood slowly. ”I promise I’ll be right back, but I’m going to check beyond that outcrop of rocks to see if anyone else is on that side of the beach,” she told Jhett, hoping he didn’t mind her leaving him. She knew if they were to switch spots, she wouldn’t want to be left alone, but then again he was probably braver than she was.

"I'm Bobby," she said to Luc, unable to take her eyes away from his injury. "Krasinski. I'm a junior," she added in a mumble. "You know I bet there's a first aid kit somewhere on the ship. If you're up for the challenge that is," she grinned smugly at him.

"Challenge, eh?" Luc looked at Bobby almost suspiciously. "How bad is the damage?" He realized he hadn't even seen the ship since it crashed. the rain was far too thick to see it in the night.

"Well," she began as she took a few steps out towards the water to get a view of the ship. It appeared to be severed in two parts and sections of it were ok fire. But as she looked closely she could see that there was a pretty direct and safe route to one of the staff rooms. Gesturing for Luc to come look, she pointed to the route they could take. "How about we go through there?" she said. "It looks safe enough to me. Besides if you don't treat that burn, you could end up with something pretty nasty."

Luc cautiously walked to stand next to Bobby. He took a good look at the ship. It was totally wrecked beyond repair. He could see where there was a staff room that looked like it was still intact. She probably meant that room. "Yeah. Let's go for it. You, in Angel?" Luc looked at Angel expectantly.
