[OOC] Stranded

Okay. I got a few bites in the Interest Check forum so here is where I will explain the story a little, and we will post our CS's and if anyone that didn't see the interest check and is interested can join here.

This is called Stranded for a simple reason, the characters go on a high school trip over the summer and end up Stranded on a desert island. But not only do they have to find ways to survive out in the wild, but they also have to survive a mysterious malevolent being that is on the island with them. Now to save from killing any characters in the beginning, (and you don't have to die if you don't want to, just make witty decisions when your in a dangerous situation!) all the ones they do find dead will be NPCs. I do have a few rules.
1. Please do NOT godmod.
2. Do NOT harm someone elses characters. At least without their formal permission.
3. You can NOT be the being that hunts them unless you PM me with a sheet and I approve it.
4. Have fun and DO NOT abandon the thread, if you are going to be gone a couple days tell us in the OOC.

Background: Grew up in a normal family. Mom, dad, and a sister.
Appearance: Latino. Dark hair and brown eyes. Six feet, two inches. Average looking. Not super thin nor muscular.

Looking good, I am going to have two characters, a male and a female. Mainly because I have pics that I just loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee and have to use. Now Zmerr and Champagne do they have any interesting things they are particularly good at? Something that will help them stay alive rather than die? Because they are going to be stuck on this island....well for awhile.

Personality: Outgoing, carefree, loving, curious, and all around a good person. You can count on Brooke for a friend, and a shoulder to cry on. She will help you out whenever she can help you.
Background: Brooke has lived alone for quite some time, she lived on the streets when she was 10yrs to 15yrs but not a lot of people know this about her, she tends to keep it quiet. She got picked up by CPS and put into the foster care system.
Notes: She can run and climb trees exceptionally well.

Age: 18
Grade: 12
Personality: Jhett is easygoing, he likes to have fun but at the same time can be incredibly serious. He treats everyone with respect, and he likes to be shown respect in turn, if you don't he likes to fight.
Background: Jhett was raised in a loving home, his mother doted on him and his father taught him everything a boy needs to learn in life. Jhett learned how to do wood work when he begged his father to put him in the classes when he turned 10yrs old. He likes to go hunting with his dad during the winter.
Notes: He can hunt, he is extremely skilled with a bow and arrow. He knows how to fashion one out of wood. He keeps his knife on him at all times.

I'm interested in this, so I'm going to make a CS. But, I have a few questions (and slight confusion in my head).
First question, what would be the minimum age? Second, I see that the pictures there are real pictures, but am I allowed to use anime ones?
And, finally, the small confusion in my head (it may just be because it is currently 0040 in the UK), I don't know how the grades system works. I may sound stupid, but the reason is over here in Scotland we use 'P's and 'S's, like 'S2' or 'P7'.

@ datadogie - In terms of grade, I believe the American system is being used. Meaning Grades 1-5 are elementary school (ages 5-10) Grades 6-8 are considered middle school (ages 11-13) and Grades 9-12 are high school (ages 14-17/18).

The minimum age I would have to say should be 14-15. And the grade system is this
9th means Freshmen
10th means Sophomore
11th means Junior
12th means Senior

So far we have 3 seniors and 1 junior.

Name: Yvette Cole

Age: 17

Grade: Senior/12th

Personality: Sweet, sensitive, shy, caring, cooperative, indecisive, scatter brained at times, lazy at times, humble, low self-esteem, a bit close minded, kind, sometimes immature, respectful, dependent

Background: Yvette grew up in a rather tumult house hold. She was tossed from family member to family member, and all of them poor. She was the little girl who got called out for lice in elementary school and wore oversized plaid clothes and came to school starving. Once she was 12 she got put into foster care, and the family actually had some money. They didn’t treat her like their own daughter however, and neither did her siblings. She has a rather dark past even with the foster family, that she rarely reveals to anyone. She was able to clean up though and go to school looking rather preppy. She never was good at making friends, just because she hardly ever trusted anyone. But since she longs to trust people, she has managed to make a few close friends (open- just ask).

Notes: She is good at following directions. She wants to be helpful but is very much a follower. She is highly intelligent but hates to brag, so she could pick up on things quickly or do a multitude of things, but never reveal them unless asked to do them.

Known as the guy that slept through class but managed to ace his tests. In terms of who he is, he's bold, daring and courageous.
Background:
Growing up with three older brothers means that Kaleb was pretty much run down since the moment he was born. While his brothers became a doctor, and engineer, and a graphic designer, he had no idea what to really do with his life. Still, he studied hard, partied harder, and gained quite the reputation for being willing to do almost anything. He's lit himself on fire, outrun rabid dogs, even ding dong ditched an army guy once--and got away with it.
Notes:
This kid is literally not afraid of anything and won't hesitate to try new things. A bit of a daredevil, mind you.

The malevolent being is something that has been on the island for years, it is a siren of sorts for it calls out to people. Many have seen it and none have lived to tell the tale of it. No one really knows what it looks like, only that it kills anyone it comes into contact with. It eats what it wants of them, if it wants to at all and leaves the rest. It can be ANYTHING. And I mean literally anything. I don't care what it is. This may be a modern tale, but it could have a fantastical twist to it. If you are wanting to play the malevolent being, you can have more than one if you like and its characteristics and what it is, is left up to the wildest imagination possible.

Name: Helen Kirby
Age: 16
Grade: Sophomore / 10th

Personality: Helen is a calm individual, however she is fairly shy and easily made quite upset. She doesn't like people talking behind her back, sometimes even if it is good things that they are saying. Despite being like this, Helen is often quite friendly and happy.

Background: Helen grew up with her parents and her older brother, who was one year older than her, but goes to a different school than her. Whenever she was sad or upset, her brother would cheer her up. As she grew up, Helen began to study plants and animals, finding them quite interesting. Helen began to take a lot of time in the library and outside, looking at all sorts of natural things. Helen took into subjects that would relate with going outside and keeping healthy. She also bought herself an ocarina, which she likes to play music with.

Notes: Helen can tell what berries and fruit are edible and what are not.

Name: Angela "Angel" Harris
Age: 15
Grade: 10th (Sophomore)
Personality: Sweet, bubbly, and always there for a kind word and smile, Angel lives up to her name for the majority of the time. No matter how dire the situation, she always manages to look on the brighter side of life - and despite her somewhat naive personality, her mind is strong, and capable of putting up with most stress.
Background: Being an only child, Angel always got a lot of attention off her parents, but thankfully didn't become spoilt by it. Her Dad belonged in the Army, and was big on learning survival skills, so Angel has been taught a lot of things about hunting, surviving in the wilderness, etc. She is also the youngest in her year, yet both acts and looks younger than what she is, normally. It takes a lot to bring out her mature side.
Notes: Has no qualms over hunting, fishing, etc. Can build fires, forage, and other survival things.
Appearance: Is quite short, only about 5'3, with long dark blond curls reaching her mid-back. She has a cute, heart shaped face, with a button nose, dimpled smile and sky-blue eyes. Quite skinny, with tanned even skin, and a small amount of curves and cleavage.

Is the spot for the malevolent being taken? If not, I'm interested.

Age: 16
Grade: sophomore (10th)
Personality: He is a simple person bit not a stupid one, he has all his wits about him and will not hesitate to show them. He generally falls in line and does what he is told but as a teenager when he gets passionate he would break any rule and any order to fulfill his passion. He is a quiet person, usually deep in thought or listening to music but he is a good listener and gives good advice. He is usually chill, However he can be a very serious person and handles things with an accurate degree of appropriacy. 
Background: He is an only child, born and raised into a lower middle class suburban family, his patents weren't around much, always at work or out doing whatever they did in there free time so he had a lot of time to himself to do what he wanted, which was usually riding his bike or climbing a tree.
Note: He has a CD player, not wanting to burden his parents with saving money for an MP3 player.

Name: Roberta "Bobby" Krasinski

Age: 17

Grade: 11

Personality: One of the most prominent things about Bobby's personality is one thing she will not admit - she is down right selfish. During every day life, this quality isn't as noticeable. But now thats she's in a survival situation, her motto may as well be "selfish people live longer". However, sometimes she gets in situations where her passion for something or someone over comes her selfish ways - but that is rare. She is somewhat outgoing. Not a social butterfly but not a hermit, she's just in the middle. She'd rather take orders than give them, as being a leader was never something she was really good at. She is usually tolerant to everyone's ideas and opinions but if someone bothers her enough, she will snap.

Background: Bobby's family moved from the Czech Republic to America when she was just 3. Life in a new country was difficult: new language, new culture, new surroundings, new foods, new schools. Fortunately, she doesn't remember much of the difficult part as she was too young. Bobby's family, that consisted of her parents, her and her older brother, lived in a run down apartment for most of their time in America until Bobby was 14, and they moved into a much better apartment on the nicer side of town. When Bobby was 16, her brother was killed in a bar fight. Since then, she had been particularly pessimistic about things. She was able to save money for her school's cruise through her job, and thought it would be good to get away from home for a while to forget about her brother's death.

Notes: She is particularly good at self defense. After her brother died,she took extra precautions to make sure that she would not die the same way, so she took to the internet and the library to learn how to defend herself. Weapon of choice is a firearm, but since she couldnt exactly bring that along to the cruise, she has her trusty switch blade. She is not too good at creating plans or strategies but she's good at executing someone else's.
