Shiranui nodded in agreement, raring to start exploring Johto.

As the group left New Bark Town, Liam thought that it might be good to show the new trainers how to catch a Pokemon. A Starly flew over and landed near them.
"Now watch, I am going to show you how to catch a Pokemon." Liam said as he pulled out his Pokedex.

"[Starly, The Starling Pokemon. They flock around mountains and fields in great numbers while chasing after bug Pokémon. Their singing is noisy and annoying. Though small, they flap their wings with great power."

Liam called on Cynder.
"Cynder, use Tackle!" Liam ordered. the Fire Mouse attacked the bird, who proceeded to peck Cynder. Cynder then used Swift and Starly used Sand Attack. Cynder used Ember and Starly pecked. Liam then tossed a Pokeball at Starly. Starly was sucked into the ball. It wiggled a few times then snapped shut.
"And that is how it is done. First you have to weaken the Pokemon and then you throw a Pokeball at it, easy peasy lemon squeezey."

"There are of course some special Poké Balls that make it easier to catch Pokémon depending on what ball you use and a few others can affect the Pokémon captured in a positive way," added Shiranui, "Use these Poké Balls right and you'll have an easier time catching Pokémon."

Liam had a few of them on hand and explained them as he held them up. "Dusk Balls, make it easier to catch Pokemon at night or in caves, Luxary Balls make The Pokemon more friendly to you, Quick Balls, are extra effective if you throw them immediately." At this point, Liam had ran out of the special Pokeballs. "There is a man in Azalea Town who can make special Pokeballs out of aprricorns. When he meet him, he can give the explanations for them. There is also some kinds of Ppokeballs I don't have any of, such as the Timer Ball. It is the opposite of the Quick Ball. There is also, the Master Ball. It is very rare, and not sold in any store. It is 100% guaranteed to catch a wild Pokemon.

"im not a fan of the masterball its to danm easy and ruins the fun." Nathan said... his cyndaquil watching him with content. "imma try and battle my first pokemon" Nathan said. running on ahead...

Soon Cherrygrove came into view. Liam advised the new trainers that it is wise to go the Pokemon Center first thing when you arrive in a city.

"Make sure you do that every time you arrive," Shiranui added as a footnote.

Liam entered the Pokemon Center and handed Joy his three Pokeballs.

Shiranui did likewise and pondered on which Pokémon he'd catch.

A Chansey brought Liam his three Pokeballs. Liam thanked the Chansey and she went on about her business.

"I brought some cash from when I was leaving home I guess I shop stock up on supplies and buy some pokeballs before I go anything else" Kuzu said before she had her pokemon returned by chansey. There she used left to the poke mart and started buying potions and pokeballs. As everyone got ready she decided to head out to the grass and find a pokemon of interest in the mean time. As she did she ran into an oddish and sent out chikorita "Spring! Use tackle" she called out as chikorita appeared from her ball already in the middle of charging catching the oddish off guard by the surprise attack. It then retaliated by using absorb but it didn't do much. With one more tackle she threw a primer ball now that it was weakened and managed to catch it.

Liam had followed Kuzu. He used his Pokedex on Oddish.

"Oddish, the Weed Pokemon. During the day, it stays in the cold underground to avoid the sun. It grows by bathing in moonlight. Its scientific name is “Oddium Wanderus.” At night, it is said to walk nearly 1,000 feet on its two roots."

Liam congratulated her on the catch, and advised she might want to catch some pokemon of other types.

Shiranui spotted a Murkrow and scanned it with his Pokédex. "Murkrow, the Darkness Pokémon. Feared and loathed by many, it is believed to bring misfortune to all those who see it at night."
"Wani, Water Gun!" Shiranui let his Totodile out and the starter blindsided Murkrow with a critical blast of water. Murkrow countered with Pursuit. "Poké Ball, go!" He threw a Poké Ball and the dark bird was drawn in. The ball shook over a period of one minute before he heard the ding sound that confirmed a successful capture. "I'll name you Kyouchou." He discovered his new friend had the Prankster ability.

Liam asked Kazu if she wanted to head back to the Pokemon Center.

Kuzu agreed to go back to the pokemon center and heal her pokemon and her new oddish.
