Shiranui and Looker found the other executive and she sent out a Murkrow. Shiranui sent Hitsuji out and the Ampharos made quick work of the Murkrow. The executive sent out Arbok next and Shiranui switched Hitsuji for Sundan. A couple of Metal Claws took Arbok out. Last was Vileplume and Shiranui switched Sundan for Kaki. A critical Flame Burst took Vileplume out and as a result, Kaki evolved to a Charizard.

Shiranui got the other key, which was a password and when he heard it he shuddered with disgust. On the way back to the rendezvous point, Shiranui said to himself, "I really hate being reminded of the Slowpoke Well incident."

Liam found the other two. "I take it you got one of the keys?"

"I did," answered Shiranui, "You?"

"Yes. Mine is a password that has to be said audibly, and I will have to wash my mouth out after I say it."

"Same with mine," replied Shiranui, "Here goes nothing…" He activated one of the password locks and said, "Slowpoke Tail".

Liam looked toward the door and said 'Hail Giovanni". The doors opened up.

The trio beheld a massive machine that was powered by six Electrode. "Could this monstrosity be the cause of the Lake of Rage incident?" Shiranui speculated.

"I'm sure it is." Looker replied.

Liam pulled out his Pokedex.

"Electrode, the Ball Pokemon. One of Electrode's characteristics is its attraction to electricity. It is a problematical Pokémon that congregates mostly at electrical power plants to feed on electricity that has just been generated. It explodes in response to even minor stimuli. It is feared, with the nickname of 'The Bomb Ball.'"

"Four on each side. We have to capture or defeat all of them. " Liam said. "I'll take the left hand side." Liam used the Gible he he caught in the Safari Zone to take down two Electrode. One of the others was defeated by Sylveon and the last by Sherlock.

Shiranui was left with the rest of the Electrode. He had Hikari battle them and every time the Electrode tried to zap the Lanturn, Hikari only recovered any damage that was inflicted. Two went down and the third used Self-Destruct to take Hikari out. Shiranui sent Sundan out to battle the last Electrode and a couple of Fury Cutters heavily damaged it. "Great Ball, go!" Shiranui threw a Great Ball and the Electrode was drawn in. A few shakes and the Great Ball pinged shut. Shiranui named his new catch Bakudan and the machine was shut down.

"The Pokémon at the Lake of Rage can now live in peace," Shiranui said with relief.

Looker thanked the two for the help. He asked what they were going to do next.
'We are going to Blackthorn to get the Rising Badge and then off to the Johto League." Liam explained.
'Well best of luck to you two." Looker said. "I have to go prepare my report on the incident." Looker said farewell to the heroes and left. Liam went to the Pokemon Center. It was now late so Liam called his mom to inform her they are heading out first thing in the morning. He then went and used the strongest mouthwash the center had to was to fold taste of the password he had to say.

Shiranui went there as well and grabbed a soda from a vending machine to drink away the trouble of saying his password. He thought about the gym battle with Clair and realised he needed a Shiny Stone and to trade evolve one of his Pokémon.

Liam called Prof Oak after he was finished talking with his mother. He had a team arranged for the Gym battle

Shiranui managed to arrange an evolution trade for Ryou to evolve to a Kingdra. The person he traded with also had a Shiny Stone he was happy to be rid of so Shiranui used it to evolve Kanki to a Togekiss.

'A Kingdra and a Togekiss huh?" Liam said.

"Kingdra, the Dragon Pokemon.Kingdra lives at extreme ocean depths that are otherwise uninhabited. It has long been believed that the yawning of this Pokémon creates spiraling ocean currents.When a storm arrives, the Pokémon is said to awaken and wander about in search of prey.

Togekiss, the Jubilee Pokemon. As everyone knows, it visits peaceful regions, bringing them gifts of kindness and sweet blessings.It shares many blessings with people who respect one another's rights and avoid needless strife."

"Well, looks like your ready to face Clair." Liam commented.

"I sure am," replied Shiranui, "Do you think she has any counter-strategies for Fairy-types?"

'She might." Liam admitted. "But for now, we need to go to bed. I mean, have ever tried to sneak out when a Nurse Joy is on watch? It's like trying to beat a Charizard with a Magikarp."

"Indeed," Shiranui agreed before getting into bed.

Liam went to bed as well.

The next day, Shiranui was up and ready to head east.

So was Liam. "On to the Ice Path!" Liam declared.
