[IC] Pokemon Johto

On the way out of Cherrygrove, The heroes were confronted by Trevor. "Oh, you're here." He said upon seeing them. "You know what, actually I want to battle you. I need to test out my new Pokemon. He sent out Totodile. Liam responded with Caterpie.
"Totodile, scratch." Trevor commanded.
"String Shot!" Liam replied. a jet of thread issued forth and Totodile got tangled up inside it, slowing down. It still managed to scratch the Worm Pokemon.
"Bite!" Trevor called
"Tackle!" Liam replied. The attacks hit in unison and both Pokemon were knocked back.
"Water Gun!" Trevor said.
"String Shot!" The jet of water hit the worm before it could react. The string issued forth and tied up Totodile.
Totodile used scratch to free itself and Caterpie tackled it. Torrent activated
"Totodile, finish it with Scratch!" Totodile was startled when Caterpie fired String Shot upward, inducing her evolution.
"Metapod, the Cocoon Pokemon, and the evolved form of Caterpie. A steel-hard shell protects its tender body. It quietly endures hardships while awaiting evolution. This Pokémon is vulnerable to attack while its shell is soft, exposing its weak and tender body." Totodile continued with his scratch.
"Harden!" Liam called. Totodile hurt itself and Trevor lost the battle. Liam praised Metapod for the evolution.

As the heroes proceeded back along Route 29, Shiranui remarked, "Looks like our journey through our home region just got a bit more interesting.

'Yup." Liam agreed. He could not wait to get to the first gym for the region.

New Bark Town was soon in sight.

When they arrived, The heroes went into Elm's Lab. Liam showed the Prof the egg that Mr. Pokemon wanted him to see. Elm was astounded by the egg. He asked who was going to take care of it.
"Want to battle for it?" Liam inquired

"Sure," answered Shiranui, "Outside, of course."

The two went outside. "So what do you say? One Pokemon each?"

[James Davy]

"You bet!" answered Shiranui, readying a Poké Ball.

"Starly! You're up!" The Starling Pokemon emerged and cooed.

[James Davy]

"Kyouchou, I choose you!" Shiranui let out his witch-like Murkrow and the battle was on. "Kyouchou, start with Pursuit!" A dark glow issued forth as Kyouchou flew towards Starly.

"Starly Double Team!" Liam instructed. As Pursuit hit one of the copies, Liam scanned it with his Pokedex.

"Feint Attack!" Kyouchou flitted out of sight for a bit and zeroed in behind Starly.

"Sand-Attack!" Liam called. The Starly blew up sand into the Murkrow's face, in an attempt to hinder its ability to see.

"Not gonna work!" said Shiranui, "Kyouchou, Feint Attack once more!" The Murkrow executed the same unavoidable attack as before.

Starly was hit. "Now Quick Attack!"

[James Davy]

Kyouchou was hit by the priority move. "Kyouchou, Haze!" The Murkrow whipped up a light fog that eliminated Starly's clones and the sand in his eyes.

"Peck!" Liam called.

[James Davy]

"You too, Kyouchou!" The two birds made a beeline towards each other with their beaks at the ready.

There was a head on collision. It sent Starly crashing to the ground. Starly got back up and used Quick Attack

"Kyouchou, Feather Dance!" The Murkrow put his Prankster ability to work and covered Starly in downy feathers, causing the latter's Attack stat to drop harshly and reducing the damage Kyouchou took from the Quick Attack by a fair bit.
