Personality: Ada is a very calm and collected individual, and she doesn’t lose her cool very often. She is fairly cold to strangers, mostly because she lived around the same people for most of her life and she’s just not used to meeting new people. History: Ada comes from the far frozen north. Her people are nomadic, and her group was small. Only her family and two others. She learned to hunt from an early age and found her dragon around the same time. One day, when she was about 12, Ada was exploring the forest that her clan had just moved to. She stumbled(literally stumbled, it was a whole and the ground and she fell into it) upon a tunnel that led to a large underground cavern. The walls were covered with intricate webs of ice and large ice cycles hanging from the ceiling. In the middle of it all, was a small nest of snow. A large pale blue egg was nestled into the now. Ada wasn’t sure how she knew, but she knew it was living although it had clearly been there undisturbed for a long time.
Approaching it cautiously she reached out a trembling hand to touch the surface of it. The shell was ice cold to the touch, but when she came into contact with it the outside started to crack. Jumping back in fear that she was broken it, she was amazed to watch a baby dragon emerge from it. The dragon immediately grew attached to her and crawled over to her. She leaned down to touch it cold spines and then picked it up. The infant dragon curled up in her arms and nuzzled against her happily. Ada hurried out of the cavern and back to her clan, excited to show them her finding.
Her family was equally shocked and amazed, it had been ages since they had seen a dragon. This was clearly a good omen, but when they tried to take the dragon away from Ada to profit from it themselves, the dragon grew angry and lashed out. It had clearly chosen Ada and Ada had claimed it in return. The family quickly accepted this and allowed Ada to keep the dragon.
Years have passed and Ada and her dragon, who she had named Lód, have matured into adulthood. After passing near and stopping by a village farther south that ner clan usually traveled, Ada was shocked to hear news of dragon riders in the south. After thinking it over and talking with her family, Ada has decided to journey to the southern kingdoms with Lód.

Skills/abilities/power: A small amount of ice magic, mostly that she can’t die from the cold. Also the ability to telepathically communicate with Lód. She has the abillity for freeze water and other fluids too. Oh, and she’s a dragon rider

Personality: Lód is really rather shy around people she doesn’t know. Its kinda funny how her personality differs from her looks because she looks all big and intimidating but she’s actually very timid and sweet.

I'm just curious as to what an ice Elf is exactly. Is it an an elf that was born from ice? Or born in a land of ice? Or can she manipulate/summon things like ice or snow?

I just used that since it sounded better than Northern Elf I guess. They just come from so far north hat the ice never melts there, but they are so used to the cold that it can't effect them and they have the ability to freeze stuff themselves, nothing too extreme though.

Is that alright?

That sounds fine to me. I think you're set. I personally accept, though, when I accept new players or characters, I'd also like Ace's approval. But for now, go ahead and post if you'd like. Worst thing that could happen is that we ask for minor changes to a character or the story. No big deal.

Name: Orthac, the Dragon Lord (in Exile)

Rider: "My domain has been stolen, but I shall not be further humiliated by the murderous mortals!"
Ability: His breath can take and give life, and slaves those he raises to his will (Only works on the recently deceased)
Personality: Orthac lived through the days of the Dragon Hunts, and has long since grown distrusting of the mortals. In times long since passed, Orthac ruled over a large domain of dragons, titling himself the "Dragon Lord".
A proud Dragon, he demands that those in his presence use etiquette fitting his former post. He harbours a grudge towards the mortals, and has long since wished for some form of reckoning or reparation for their cruelty.
History: Through the era of the Dragon Riders, and still his domain persisted, proud, powerful and prosperous under the banner of the Claw... with the Dragon Riders, man grew more comfortable around the dragons, and for the first time Orthac counted humans among his subjects. For a time the two lived peacefully, but it was not to last
Darkness descended upon his domain in what he came to call "The Great Betrayal". Man questioned the Dragon Lord, demanding to be ruled by Men. The Dragons asserted their right over the land, saying that it was humans who had come into the land, and in doing so accepted the laws of the land. And so the two sides argued, and argued...
Until one day man grew tired of arguing. They rose up, taking the dragons by surprise. The war was bloody, but inevitably mans numbers won they day, overpowering the dragons.
The remaining dragons fled their lands, vowing to one day they would return and take their home back once more. They hid in the mountains until the bloodlust died down.
Eventually, they made themselves known again, and have petitioned the Kingdoms last few monarchs over the return of their lands... Something which has never been granted. Over the years, they have grown more and more disgruntled, and verge on the edge of militant action.
Appearance: Orthac is a fearsome dragon of terrifying size, being several meters longer and taller than the average dragon. His scales are thick and black, scars scattered across them from various battles. A long scar on his chest marks the location of his heart. His jagged teeth and claws are razor sharp. His reptilian eyes scour those before, refusing to grant innocence to the mortals he holds responsible for the Great Betrayal...
Other:
The Dragon Lords domain of "Aazathiel" encompasses part of the Kingdom which has since become a major economic zone, constituting 21% of the kingdoms GDP. It constitutes 13% of the Kingdoms lands and has 11% of its people. The Army of the Claw contends that it is their land and that its people are illegal occupiers.

Rider: "I shall have no captain but my lord."
Ability: Frost Breath
Personality: Orthacs right hand, Karthul serves an advisory role. More cautious than her Lord, Karthul spends much of her time dissuading Orthac and the other dragons from trying to destroy the Kingdom, believing such would only lead to their destruction.
Appearance: The Grey Dragon is average in size for a dragon, and he looks less ferocious than Orthac. Her scales are certainly less scarred. In spite of this, she is still terrifying on the offensive.
Other: Orthacs remaining servants are in hiding and await the word of their master, ready to return to their ancient home... And like Orthac are preparing to reclaim it by force if required. This "Army of the Claw" may not be large in numbers by mortal measures, but the possibility of an invasion by dragons strikes fear into the hearts of those living in the Dragon Lords former domain

Darkwolf, is there anyway you could be a little more specific on Orthac's ability?

"His breath can take and give life, and slaves those he raises to his will" Does this mean he can just kill or raise people from the dead? I'm especially curious about the killing at will part. Are there any specific stipulations on that? How does it work? How long does it take to kill someone? If it's too instant or if it applies to anyone/anything, I might ask you to tone it down a bit. That's like a one hit battle-winner. Cool, but maybe a bit much.

Sorry it took so long to respond. I saw this earlier and just had to sit on it for a little while. However, Karthac is fine. No changes needed for her.

It's essentially a process of tearing ones soul out, which I think is likely the easiest way to explain stealing life. Its not instant on anyone but the "weakwilled"... In other words, only on the faceless looks, unless another player wishes otherwise.
On the stronger willed it wouldn't be instant but a slower process, with the feeling of tiredness and extreme dreariness... And when the person finally falls asleep, that is the end of the process, death. From there their soul can be devoured by Orthac for a variety of reasons, whether it be to acquire knowledge or rejuvenate himself without requiring true sleep.
Conversely, he can raise the recently deceased to serve him by binding their souls back into their body and, if he wishes, to his will. Obviously, the restrictions apply to non-faceless mooks so not to infringe of other players rights over their characters
