So they have a reason to go out.

Yes, but -why- would the individuals go along on the quest? For -questing- sake? Needs to be connected to the goals and motivations of the characters mang, and have connections to that.

Like for say, James. He'd go along with the quest if it advanced his goal in helping his daughter. Anya follows because, can't be without Papa.

How about all of the rich characters have something that is very precious to them stolen and they hire the other characters with the promise of a reward. That could work

Some characters like James, don't give a shit about money. Which I do recall IncredibleBee saying. However, what he does care about is his daughter.

So, how do we get a character like Sir Hawthorne in the quest? Well, if there is mentioning of certain things that could be helpful for his daughter, such as some mystical river or something, which just so happens to be in the same direction as the Quest Objective.

Just money itself wouldn't attract this character, nor does he care about the community (as he lives somewhere else entirely), however with this mystical river or something else of use that could help his daughter, he is guaranteed to come along in the quest.

Hello, wondering if there would be any opportunity for a newbie to drop in and RP with you fine folks? I just created this account. I used to RP a lot before and am recently just getting into it. I scanned RPguild occasionally but never really saw anything I liked, then there's this. If theres no room or I'd be an inconvenience I totally understand. If not I'm perfectly willing to submit a piece of my usual writing so you can see if my style will work with you folks and your story.

James is a servant to his daughters whims. Should she want to go on an adventure with Mr. Squirrel there probably isn't much James would do to stop her, and being paid will help him to travel

But why? Why risk it? If he cares about her, the first thing he'd think of is her safety, rather than her immediate happiness.
