I feel the demons are like placing all your tricks on the table at once. Wyvern was kinda introducing troubles for us on a more personal level; you could see them start to build up pretty quickly and how they'd tie everyone into a bigger conflict.

If you're going to introduce demons that's fine, but you at least need a better, longer lead up, and more personal involvement from the characters.

And by neglecting a personal involvement from the characters, the thing will essentially be seen as the 'Monster/Loot of the Week', nothing of any real/personal concern. Because you didn't tie it into the characters, and the players would just see it as a target.

It is more important to have the personal connection and stories with the player characters, then a Mega-Threat.

But yes, Bee you were correct. I am working on a variety of things for the characters, and various storylines that'd be able to intertwine and such

Yes, but the Demon Card was pulled out too early. ESPECIALLY with the War Scenario going down as well.

It's important for the characters to have, ya know, a personal motivation for actions.

For a Demon Invasion. You hear weird stuff, you find cultists. Say, you know how there was that Creepy Kid at the Graveyards? Surely they'd know stuff about this, and the Priesthood certainly would think they are related to the Cult.

And it turns out the Cult was using some Gnolls as shock troopers and framing a certain clan. The cult may have taken a fascination with a certain new child with red eyes and took them to their lair. Etc.

You need to establish these connections between the players before activating MEGA EVENT. Because, as Bee said, why would we help each other when we don't know each other? OR why stay when you don't have a connection to the town?

This, basically. As it stands, all the traveler characters would just say "fuck this" and ditch any demon infested area. Ark's Gnoll tribe would just leave for greener pastures, since demons are generally a lot worse than judgemental humans. Even if James decided he needed to fight demons for whatever reason (and he really doesn't have a reason, unless his liege tells him to, or something similar), he'd retreat back East to gather a real army before doing so, and that takes time and doesn't involve anyone else. Tirarian wanted to ditch the underworld anyways, this just makes a great excuse.
