I've been seeing this thing get famous around Facebook so I figured I should try it here.
So in order of 10th to 1st (I know properly it's mean to be 1-10 list wise, but 10-1 has more build up).
10. Fallout 3
9. Sid Meier's Civilization 5
8. Skyrim
7. XCOM Enemy Within (Long War Mod STRONGLY suggested btw... But mod it to be easier for yourself if you aren't a hardcore skilled player)
6. Fallout New Vegas
5. The Wolf Among Us
4. Dragon Age Origins (Sadly, never got around to trying Awakening yet... I should do that, like now).
3. Kotor I (Not 2 or Old Republic)
-> Kotor 2 I enjoy even more than Kotor 1 in terms of Gameplay, I like the enhanced build options and bigger variety of powers, feats, skill uses etc. It's functionally a better system.
But there's two area's it dropped the ball in:
1. Story
Basically, they just tore out most of the story. To the point modder's to this day 10 years after release are still makes patches and mods to add it back in (a lot being cut/scrapped content made by Obsidian... So why they didn't already have it in the game by default is beyond me.
2. Bad Level Ramp
The Gameplay is more fun, but admittedly it does not balance against your level well. You start off with it more challenging than the 1st, but then it becomes insanely easier at each level. To the point that at around level 15-20 you essentially ROFLstomp everything... and The game without cheating (or added content mods) tends to take you to the mid-30's.
-> Old Republic has great story but...
1. It's built as an MMO
As in, you HAVE to play it as an MMO. It's designed to force you through grinding and all the tedious quest to progress the story. A friend and me tried a co-op where at one point we started skipping side quest sand just following the story outright... About 2 story missions we were so under leveled that even together, with both followers out we were getting crushed. And we were above the suggested level of the story quests when we initially made the choice to skip other quests.
2. Companions
Only one follower at a time so no real multi-party member banter or anything going on, and you're conversations with them are so limited that you hardly get to flesh them out as characters unless if they are both your active/constant companion on story quests and if you grind affection with them through gifts.
2. Mass Effect Trilogy
1. Tell Tales Walking Dead Series
-Oblivion with SkyXP Mod (Seriously, get the mod. No more cheese grind tactics again simply to have a viable character).
-FTL
-To The Moon
-Mount & Blade Warband
-Rust (Only if you enjoy games like Day Z... It's a rage train otherwise)
