How will we start? Going into battle, sitting around waiting, on the ship ride home? Note: Just beat Xcom Enemy Unknown can't wait till I get Enemy Within.

Just did that a bit ago. Dah double posts, anyways. Will this be turn based or are you going to trust us to be realistic. Also, how will this go? Will it just be going back and forth from battle to battle or will there be like littler bits of science data or engineering stuff. For example half the people in the Xcom vote on what we research or whatever? Another thing. Will we like be shoved into Psi labs to see what happens and what not?

For combat I'm trusting you guys to be realistic. As for down time it's really yours to do with what you want, basically what your character would do when on leave or not saving the world, as such most of the base is open to you (and a few external sites), basically Character Development. As for PSI testing, as with the normal game it's supposed to be a "Volunteer" Program, so if you want to go through the severe acid trip testing probably is go right ahead, and for fairness I will even randomize the results.

Hee hee. From my experience one in three people get it. Had everybody test and in each batch of three only two go in. As for realism. I will take range, cover, and if they are flanked/supressed. *Full cover takes 20% from hit. Flanked adds 10% half cover takes 10% range can go from taking 20% to being right up on then and getting some kind of 100% point blank.* Then like roll a D100 with an app of some sorts. Also, are we all colonels?

you dont have to do that, roll the dice I mean, just try and keep it realistic (as realistic as Xcom can be) EG: not one shotting a berserker, or sectopod, when your hit by plasma not just shrugging it off (unless your in Titan Armor),and so on.

And yes we are at the effectiveness level of Colonels

Coolest thing I did in Xcom was putting a sniper up, waiting for the next turn. Then shovng another dude in view of the dude who has to be killed. Then watching my sniper crit, double tap, and kill the enemy needed to kill to win the game. All while avoiding like seven enemies.
I was gonna go sniper but meh we needed a support.

but remember this is also running off of a setting that puts Marathon mode and most difficulty settings to shame: Realism. And to quote a person "This game, even on easy isn't easy!"

mine would probably be winning a UFO landing in less than 10 min, with one rocket. Turns out they were all hiding in the center of the ship... who knew?

How about you biggest fail? Mine is most likely running through the cemetery map with a bunch of rookies because the colonels all were injured. They run in and get flanked by heavy floaters. We kill em whenever a sectoid commander mind controlls of my rookies, who proceeds to kill the only rookie with plasma weaponry *only had one rifle others were special for other classes* then ofcourse more heavy floaters show up. So I just do what most people do whenever they feel like they are screwed and spam explosives. Managed to make it out with two soldiers with 3 health. Needless to say we held a recruting day in the place.

Almost the same situation, except mine involved a captain landing the last overwatch on a Berzeker, drawing it next to her, which on the next alien turn it proceeded to turn her into red paste, and the two mutons behind it killed two Sarg. after that the last two booked out of there, into the loving arms of a Secopod.....

any way g'night

Worst:
After carefully creeping around a map for half an hour I decided to take a chance, there was only one place where an enemy could be hiding and with what I already had faced in mind there should only be one or two guys left.
I moved my assault into position by the door, placed a heavy behind and a sniper above for support. The next round I placed heavy and sniper in overwatch and kicked the door down.
Holy shit.
In a small alley between a building and the edge of the map I found the enemies HQ. No less than four floaters, two cyberdiscs and a small army of drones. As the encounter triggered both the heavy and sniper let loose. They blew away a good portion of the wall I used for cover and managed to kill only one of the drones.
The assault sprang forward and gave a cyberdisc something to remember, 3 dmg (I play with random dmg). The assault was doomed, so I concentrated on my other guys, moving my support and other heavy closer.
The floaters tore my assault to pieces and the cyberdiscs engaged my sniper. Overwatch gave me nothing.
The next round I concentrated fire on the cyberdiscs and managed to get one of them down to a fraction of its hp and it disappeared into the fow. The floaters swarmed my heavy who had run out of ammo and fell. The second cyberdisc finished off my sniper. At the other end of the map a damaged support (no medpacks left) and a heavy dug in and focused on defense. A drone came into sight and they both.wasted their free shot on it. Then the floaters and cyberdisc came. Since the battle was lost and I was pissed at myself for being careless I decided to end with a bang. The heavy brough out his bazooka and blew everyone to kingdom come.

Best:
In my next crew I had two assaults, which in thos case proved to be a big advantage. Early on a map I faced of against a group of mutons, they're tough as shit, but I could handle them. Out of nowhere came a berzerker I hadn't noticed and ran straight toward my heavy. The heavy was in overwatch and hosed him down with laser. As the alien came closer one of the assaults saw him and opened fire. A few steps later the other assault sees him and gives the guy a head full of lead. As assault nr2 unloads the berzerker passes within four tiles of assault nr1 and gets shot again. At the same time he walks into the range of.my sniper and gets a shot from there. Enraged, the berzerker takes a few steps toward the sniper and at the same time assault nr2. When he came within four squares he takes a crit to the head and falls together like a sack of potatoes. All without me giving a single order, but laughing my pants off.

Name: Greg Allen
Age: 24
Nation of Origin: Canada
Looks/description: he has fairly short brown hair and a fairly big build. He has blue eyes and a soft face with noticeable laugh lines.
Personality: Greg is a fairly happy person though sometime his anger can get the best of him.
Class: Assault
Weapon: Scatter laser, laser pistol
Armor/MEC suit: Titan armour
Powers/Biotic Augments: N/A
Short Bio: Greg grew up on Vancouver island in Canada and lived with his parents until he was twenty-two due to him not havering enough money to buy or rent a apartment. In his earlier years Greg was overly aggressive in activities such as gym or sports and often times had to sit out until he started football. He played football a great deal even though he didn't actually know much about the sport nor did he want to learn about it either. The only reason he liked it so much is that you got to run and tackle people to the ground. Even after Greg barley graduated he would play football with his friends who usually only played it because they pitted him. After the aliens started attacking Greg had just bought a house and now had nothing to do due to his friends getting tired of playing with him. So he did what any person down on his luck did and join the military or more specifically XCOM. He had been around a while once people discovered meld and when offered the meld he declined saying that he wanted to keep himself one hindered percent original for the time being.

You know whats funny? I am scared away from Rps that have more then a page of posts or have stuff in the IC. It just makes me feel like somebody jumping on the end of a filled up bus and holding on while it drags me around.
