Valkians don't use eyes; they detect mass all around them, like a really souped-up version of electrolocation. Their sense is mainly hindered by density. On a planet with a dense, thick atmosphere, visibility is reduced. Meanwhile, in a small escape pod in space, they could see farther than any human could.

The word 'see' in their post did not mean that definition of physically using eyesight, it meant to "oh, you're doing that. I'm not dumb, I know what you're doing"

There were 6 ships in orbit around Planet N-1. One pair of ships went to Nouvelle; another pair went off in another direction. Shall you attack the Explorer and the Varren, a Dreadnaught and a Battleship, as they move to a new, unexplored system?
