I thought 'Snow elf' was just the translation that anyone could work out, simply by looking at the other Mer translations. Also, I'll be getting a post up soon guys. Niko can give Faire a gentle interegation, Roze can size up our new Nord friend, and Leo can complain about something. Or y'know, flirt with the new girls. XD

It's more of the context which what I referring to. As you know the word Falmer which is well, the Elven translation of "Snow Elf" like how Bosmer is "Wood elf" and so on. However it is the way that Dreet-Na uses the term that aroused my curiosity; he used it to discriminate Faire from the pale Smeagol things. In Skyrim, the only NPC who insisted that Falmer and Snow Elf are different things was Gelebor himself and it's only because the term "Falmer" carries negative connotations. OTHERUSELESSTRIVIA!: Falrielle was more or less a response I had when reading a bad fic with a Snow Elf. Fun stuff. EDIT: Oh this > > I'm curious as to how Dreet-Na would know of the term "Snow Elf". Damn I miss my Argonian character. > > Yea, I believe Falmer is the academic name and probably the only name existing for her race right now. Snow Elf was most likely the invention of the surviving population.

Not that curious. You get Dark Elves being called thus, and Dunmer by NPC's. Same with Altmer or Bosmer, sometimes. It's not odd at all that the term Snow Elf was used.

We really are splitting hairs here people. Anyway Delta, it's not exactly improper to think about the term Falmer negatively when a snow elf is in front of you, they are one of the same, and faire looks nothing like those beasts that everyone associates with the term falmer. As a matter of fact Falmer may not actually be the elvish term for Snow elf, but for the creatures that used to be snow elves. For instance, it being translated to the Fallen elves. You know the snow elves being the epoch of Skyrims civilisation until the nords came along and put an end to that, and the dwemer putting the nail in the head. So the saying "Fall from grace" applies very well here. Not sure of this is correct but never the less it's applicable that the term Falmer may insult a snow elf.

I just really like the little things, the subtle touches in these sort of works. I know how we all love a good epic story but there is some enjoyment in the smaller things. Take WETA workshop for the LoTRs. I could just gush over the detail their armour designs if you give me a chance to.

True enough. The small things do make a difference.

It is a good enough point, and I admit I suppose I didn't put much thought into that. I suppose thinking about it I could switch the two, so it'd be a snow elf, or more accurately a Falmer? Nearly everything Dreet-Na knows would come from texts and books and whiteness accounts and what not.

Looks fine, but I won't accept 10 foot tall, the max I'll accept is 8'0. That still being tall enough, whilst I can deal with someone being a bit quite, or indeed a tad socially challenged. I'd prefer him to have some intelligence, at least enough to have conversations with others. Other than that, and a bit more of a recent update on his life, and his reason why he wants to join, it'll be fine. Just gotta wait on the Gm, and co-Gm.

Completely agree with Leos. On top of those modifications, I'd also like your sign up to be in accordance with ours and posted on our site - simply for conveniences sake. Your character does look interesting, and I look forward to seeing him in action. You will need to mention in your bio why your character wishes to join Dovahfeyn, and how he finds them while they're at rest. I'll get my post up tomorrow morning guys, so you won't have to wait long! :)

As I said you probably wouldn't accept I refuse to change him I have had significant arguments on his size and justified it well. I also said I am on my phone moving a character is near impossible. So I respectfully withdraw have a good rp

If I may. Your justifications are... Insufficient. Just because one of the most magically inclined races lacks magical capability or much in terms of intelligence does not mean that they gain physical attributes as a compensation. Genetics and evolution doesn't work like that. Even freaks of nature aren't grossly over tall as your character, even of they were they wouldn't be better for it. Constant joint pain, stretched muscles, atrophy, brittle bones, and many other physical ailments would afflict your character for being the height he is. You think even in life that those who are 7 foot tall are like that without consequence?

I have had this exact conversation before and I refuse to pollute this thread with an argument that will end with neither party any farther a head if you would like to see the argument read the whole thread not just my character.

I made sure I read the entire thread before I made my statements. But you're right. It's pointless arguing over it. You have no wish to change it, so I do wish you a good day. If you happen to come up with another character, you're always welcome to post it here and it'll be looked over.

> It's these moments in the OOC thread that make me wish I wasn't dealing with Bullshit IRL... I can't say I can emphatise with you because I would lying if I said I did, I can't say you have my sympathy either because personally I find it rather degrading although I do appreciate the gesture. Point is: hang tough, you're not alone.
