I just remember having fun with those on DN.

I do like Spellbooks/Prophecies (and I especially like that you thought to bring synchros to the archetype), but I'll have to regrettably turn Takuya down for reasons.

Keyblade's CS did remind me, though, that I'd just like a quick roll call of which characters are in Slifer Red, Ra Yellow, or Obelisk Blue. This won't have any real effect IC, but it's good to know these things. Once I have the the entire cast thus far accounted for and in a hider on the main post, I'll get started on the IC.

Xi

Name: Xi (pronounced "Zee") Jones

Personality: Xi is a less-than-pleasant student. Cunning and ruthless in a duel, no question there, but she's got one hell of a mean streak in her, no doubting that either. She'll exchange fists with somebody just as soon as she will cards, and tends to be pretty abrasive around others. She doesn't care who she's badmouthing either; anybody's fair game to her. Supposedly, it all roots in how Xi's actually pretty embarrassed about her full first name. She gets all kinds of violent if she hears somebody address her as Xiuhcoatl.

Rumors say there's a good side to her, but nobody who knows her has really been able to confirm them.

Bio: First and only child of a proud Nahuatl-descended family, Xi was giving a name straight out of the Nahuatl dictionary. Xiuhcoatl, which can mean either "fire serpent" or "weapon of destruction". Needless to say, though, having such an odd name by today's standards can complicate socializtion right from introductions. It was a personal source of much shame for her, growing up around kids with such names as Sam or Jack or Eric, and here she was. Xiuhcoatl.

Over the years, this shame festered into anger, which turned Xi into a...well, an angry person, obviously. And when people get angry, they try to find ways to vent, even if it's at the expense of others. And as a result, Xi picked up bullying routines near the end of her years in elementary school. Fast-forward and we get the Xi of today; an abrasive, ruthless, altogether not pleasant person.

Personality: Aislin is probably the sweetest, most kind-hearted girl you'll ever meet. To her, everybody matters, no matter who they are, and she's always on the vigilant watch for sad or angry people. When she finds them, her goals always become helping that person feel better. However, in tandem with her serious naivety, this kindness can often be her own undoing, leading her to do things she'd otherwise never do because somebody led her to believe it was the right thing to do in that situation. She's easy to befriend, but just as easy to take advantage of.

This firm naivety of hers extends to a strong belief that things like magic and such really do exist in this world, and this is often how she explains things that can't otherwise be explained. There are still many things about the world that she doesn't know/understand, but Aislin is an eager learner. Damn quick one, at that.

We'll be playing by the good ole TCG rules. Start with 8000LP, the first player doesn't draw on their first Draw Phase, and each player can have a field spell active.

Now then, I'm gonna finish up Aislin's half-finished CS, set up a list of accepted characters in the main post, then hopefully, get started on an IC.

Well, I edited my deck a bit to try to make it a bit smoother (emphasis on try). Also, I edited Heaven's Gateway and Heaven's Reinforcements slightly. If there are any problems, then I can change that to make it more acceptable.

I remain iffy about Intervention. If it were just during your turn that'd be one thing, but as it is this thing outright murders all the meta decks I already crippled, and gives plenty others a tough time too.

Personality: A girl who, at first glance, is incredibly shy, awkward and very much eager to avoid social contact. Conversation was never her strong suit, and even amongst familiar company, she keeps quiet due to a sense of having nothing in common with everyone else. Whether or not this is necessarily true, if there's one thing Anna loves more than anything else, it's Arthurian lore. Enamored with the stories from a very early age, the numerous adaptations and stories have all culminated in a headcanon that is reflected in Anna's deck - obviously chosen due to the Arthurian roots.
When discussing her deck or anything related to the lore, Anna suddenly becomes quite the fangirly motormouth, breathlessly outlining the story, characters and whatever else manages to sound like coherent word structure. Even in duels, she seems more confident than usual... though this tends to require Artorigus himself handing out words of encouragement.
Regarding duels, Anna has her own 'code of honour', which she sticks to adamantly. To summarise, she will do her best not to horrifically overwhelm an opponent, and will outright reject any tactic she views as 'cheap' or 'dishonorable'. ...Combine this code with her still-lackluster dueling skills, and you have a ridiculously easy opponent.

Bio: The reason she prefers to be called "Anna" during duels, is that she believes it to be a link to the mythos of King Arthur. Envisioning herself as a knight among them, as well as to further distance herself from her older, someone with less wholesome morals regarding dueling. her current goal is to improve enough, so she can defeat him and prove that her philosophy is far superior... and that Arthur is WAY better than Lancelot.

Not sure how you could, really. NK's are relatively balanced, and a single MST shuts down their strongest play. Also, King Goddamn Arthur and his bros.

I also enjoy the humor that our RP's Noble Knights guy is from the UK. As well as the Nahuatl-descended character being property of the RP's friendly neighborhood 'murrican.

Well, perhaps it was a bit unfair to say that I hate it worse than Shaddolls. I fought a Noble Knight deck using a Perfect Plasma lockdown deck (D Hero Plasma, Horus LV 8, and Royal Decree) and I lost ridiculously badly. I think it was partially due to my lack of experience with the Noble Knights that I lost, and maybe a bad hand, but I lost all the same, and it sucked.

I fought Noble Knights only once and I annihilated them. What's their deal, anyway? Shadolls are annoying as fuck because they constantly summon and every one of them activates their effect when it's used as fusion material, breaking your cards and generally annoying you. What do Noble Knights do?

In any case, this time I wanted to play it anime-style, which means using a gimmicky and creative deck, GX-style, rather than an actual working deck. I love Koa'ki Meirus but Konami didn't really bother to keep them up to speed with the new, hyper-fast playstyle and uber-protected monsters. Still, I personally think that they would make for an interesting deck in a context different from RL duelling.
