A human with the ability to channel magic and magnify someone’s abilities – the idea was absurd. Humans had ceased to exist from Aurion because they couldn’t handle the magic. Old as Deneva may be, she was still young enough to have never seen an actual human. Yet, she was like many of Aurion who preferred to take on a more humanoid appearance. It was the most popular form seen in the world, and for someone like Deneva it provided convenience and allowed her to blend in with other races.

Even with the belief that the prophecy was absurd; the blonde had still obeyed commands. This prophecy was the reason why she was here in this strange situation. Golden eyes glanced around the room watching as the image shimmered every now and then. It was subtle enough that the human probably wouldn’t notice it. And if there was one thing she learned, it was that humans overlooked and rationalized anything that did not fit into their perfect little world.

Her eyes trained back onto the human asleep on the couch. There was no telling how long he would be out. But perhaps that was a good thing. As long as he was unconscious, she wouldn’t have to answer questions. That was good. Crossing the room, she sat down on a chair that creaked with the added weight.

Richard moaned as he started to wake up. He kept his eyes closed as he tried figure out where he was. He was definitely not tied up and by the feel of it on a couch. This does not match the events that had happened before he was knocked out. He was making his way back from work. He had stayed late to finish the project he was on. He had even managed to get it done. All he had left to do when he came into work as double check everything. Something he was going to have his team do. He was sure that he was going to have a good day tomorrow. A day that was not going to happen anymore, not after yesterday.

He had almost made it home when he was surrounded by a group of men. He had done his best to fight them off. He managed to take out a couple of them, but there were too many people for him to fight them off. He was quickly overwhelmed and the next thing he knew was that he was knocked out. It did not seem like a simple mugging and he had no idea why someone would want to kidnap him. This made no sense to him at all. He even considered pretending to sleep so that he would find out what had happened to him. He knew that this was not an option.

He opened his eyes and the first thing that he saw was a woman sitting on a chair. At least his kidnapper was beautiful. The rest of the room looked very plan to him. At least it was not a jail cell or a cage. He sat up and looked at the woman. "Well, your quite the beautiful kidnapper if I must say so myself. You should no I do not have anything for to ask for a ransom." He kept his gaze on her not even noticing that the room shimmered.

"You are making a lot of assumptions," Deneva answered a smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. "But I thank you for the compliment."

She had expected the human to make some amount of fuss. Mostly about the events leding up to him being knocked unconscious. A group of thugs had not been on her list of things to deal with - but the human had to be protected. The bruise on her leg seemed yo throb at the memory of the fight.

A simple job to keep the peace of Aurion had led a human here. And who else might try to attack or capture this human before her? This was not as easy as a task as she first thought it was.

"I didn't kidnap you. Nor am I expecting a ransom. Besides, if you happen to truly be who I think you may be, then you'll be priceless." She paused in thought before speaking once more, "So what is your name?"

Richard looked at the woman, so he was wrong about the assumption of kidnapping. He had been attacked by a strange group of people and then he found himself in a strange location. Everything seemed to point to kidnapping. If the woman said that he had not been kidnapped then it only seemed reasonable that he would be able to leave and go home anytime he wanted.

"Richard. Though it's customary to give one's name before you ask for another's," He said as he got up. "If I have not been kidnapped then I will be leaving now. Thank you for saving me, or at least getting those men to leave me and taking me here to your place, but I have to get back home and then work."

He made his way to the door and looked back at her. He was wondering about a couple things. Those men had been intent on knocking him out and not hurting him that bad. They had not even asked him to hand over his belongings before they attacked. Most importantly why did he end up in a strange apartment instead of a hospital bed or something of the short. He wanted answers as badly as he wanted to get home. He opened the door ans when he saw that it did not lead into a corridor but outside he closed the door right away. He turned around and looked at the woman.

"Not kidnapping. Taking a person unwillingly somewhere else is the definition of kidnapping. I"m pretty sure I am no longer back home so you better start explaining were you have taken me before I call the police." He slide his hand into his pocket ready to daily 911 if needed.

“You are far from your home,” Deneva lifted a hand and examined her nails. “And because of that it would probably prove useless to call ‘the police’.”

She considered the opinion of just letting the human wander. If he bolted out that door and was eaten by the planet, well that meant that the prophecy much have been referring to some other human. However, she knew that such an excuse would not work. She was this human’s protector, whether he agreed or not. So how much information could he handle? If he truly knew everything, what was the consequence? Well, first off, he probably wouldn’t believe her. She just need to take things at little steps at a time.

A sigh escaped her lips as she stood from the chair. “My name is Deneva. And I brought you to this place to keep you safe. How safe you are here – I can’t guarantee.” How soon would the magic begin to destroy him if he was the one prophesied about? Perhaps this very room was killing him? Even if she had tried to weave the magic to create the illusion around them, the magic was still wild. And that was probably the first thing she would have to address. If he was to try to understand here he was, he needed to understand the main component of this world. “Do you believe in magic? Because if not, I’d suggest that you do.”

She brushed her hand over the chair, undoing the illusion upon the item. Sparks of color, traces of magic, escaped into the air to reveal a piece that was of more Aurion nature. It was still something similar to a chair – a wood stump that had been molded into the piece of artwork that it now was. The strange design of the was probably unlike any wood working found on Earth.

When Richard was told that there was not point in calling the police he pulled out his cell phone and found it had no signal. He looked back at her, there was no way that they could be in a place with no signal. He could not have been knocked out for that long that they were able to find a perfect dead zone. He did not like this it all . He was in a strange place with no way of contacting anyone that he knew. The only person that seemed to know where he was was the woman in front of him that seemed to be not interested in his threats or actions. He put his cell phone away seeing as it was no use to him at all.

He listened to her talk. He had no idea why he would need to be kept same. The attack was probably a one time thing. He wouldn't stay out that late again in the future. It was the best way to avoid thugs like that. What kind of danger could he possible be in that this woman thinks that she need to protect him, or more importantly why he would need protection she was offering. The worst thing was she had brought him to a place where he would not be safe at all. This was making him even more annoyed at this all. SO she brought him here to protect him, but it is just as dangerous here as it is for him back home. If that was the case why bring him were she did. HE was about to say some thing when she mentioned if eh believed in magic.

"Of course not, magic is a thing in fairy," he started as she undid the illusion. For a second he looked around. "Children," It was hard to deny what he had just seen. From what he could tell there were no tricks involved. He had touched the door and it had seemed solid. This did not make sense to him at all. He looked around fully this time and aw a lot of strange things about this place. At first glance it had looked normal for him, but he was not sure if that was part of the illusion. He looked at the chair and then back at Deneva. "Where the hell did did you take me and how do I get because home.? I don't want to be here." He walked up to her to make sure all of his answers. He was not amused and very tired. It was not a good combination.

She pulled at the rest of the illusion, allowing the magic to dissipate back into the wild. The room shifted as the image that was much more Earth like disappeared. It was still a small room – however it became much more apparent that it was more of a hut rather than an apartment. The furniture had taken on its more natural and wild look – similar in style to the chair.

“We are on the outskirts of a small village called Clearwater in the land of Fire. To be less specific, we are on the planet Aurion. And the only way to get back to your home would be to find one of the rifts – one that connects Aurion to your planet… Earth, right?” She wondered if it was best to be upfront. She had tried to keep everything a secret from him. And because of that he was angry with her – which was understandable. “As to how to get you home, I’m not entirely sure. These rifts are rather unstable, and the one I took to get back is surely gone by now.”

She watched him. Not only for his reaction, but to see if was the magic doing anything to him. “How are you feeling?” It was her theory that by stringing the magic together, it would not try to overpower and destroy the human. But now the illusion was gone, and the magic was free to do what it wished – wild and uncontrolled.

He looked at the room as the magic around the room dissipated. This place did not look like any place that he had seen in the past. If what she was saying was true then he was no longer on earth but another planet. Even worse he was not able to get home when he wanted. He really did not like this at all. He crossed his arms. He would have been interested in looking at the building to see how it was built, but he did not want to do that right now. Not when he was probably going to spend some time here. Long enough that he would probably see other places like these.

He looked at her. If the way they came was gone then the only other option was to find another portal. He did not know what they looked like, but it was clear to him that she knew what to look for. So he was stuck with her until then. He could only hope that he would make it back before he lost his job and had to get a new one. There was no way that someone was going to believe him that he was kidnapped and taken to another world. He sighed and shook his head. This was definitely a bad thing.

He looked at her when he she asked how he was feeling. Apart from feeling angry and greatly annoyed, he was tired and his head hurt. He had been sure that was because of the blow that he took to his head. He checked his head to see if he was bleeding anywhere, but everything looked fine. He looked at her. "My head hurts and I'm tired. But one of the men that attacked hit me on the head so I thought it was hurting because of that." He looked at her. "Is there something that you are not telling me?" So far she had answered all his questions and he wondered if he was going to answer this one as well.
