He couldn't believe it, his eyes in tears, the smell of blood lingers in the air as he waits for the Ferris wheel to let him off, he's at the very top right now. All that remains is his dad's left shoe.
He's been looking forward to this day for about a month now, he was going to go to the smallest but the best theme park in Taryn with his father. His mindset was always negative towards his father after the death of his mother. "Why couldn't you protect her? Why are you such a weak man? Why couldn't it have been you?" He asks his father frequently. When he asks these questions he always ends up sobbing along with his father, he knows Mallion doesn't mean to be rude. She didn't deserve that, it wasn't right.
As they fly to the theme park in their cherry red convertible (roof on) hovercraft, with the green sun illuminating the grey road, a rain drop hits the windshield, then another, then another. Mallion has always loved the rain, but his father has always hated it. They were opposites; he glows, he doesn't. He has wings, he doesn't. He likes Taryn, he misses Earth. He loves the dark weather, he loves the bright weather. He likes men, he likes women. The one thing they have in common is sadness and sorrow for their mother. The shadows of the raindrops on the windshield cast upon Mallions face as he smiles. He reads aloud off a sign above the theme park "Enoth" Mallion's dad pats his sons shoulder and they step out of the hovercraft.
Several hours of laughs and joy pass and there's only one ride left to enjoy. "Mallion, it's getting late, we need to eat dinner." Mallion scrunched his eyebrows down and pointed at the Ferris wheel. "Okay but after this we have to leave." Mallion laughed full of excitement as they got in line for the ride. The sun has gone down so now the theme park's lights were the only source of light they had along with Mallions glow. A red light ran across Mallion's hair and wings, then a green light ran across his father's hair as they struggled to get in the cart due to the wings, but they finally managed to get them in. They started to go up and his father started to breathe heavily. "I didn't know you were afraid of heights dad." He didn't reply, instead he just grasped tightly on the cart's blue cage walls. "It's almost over dad just calm down." They reached the very top of the Ferris wheel and stopped so that more people could get on at the bottom. "Hurry up!" His dad yells frightened. "Dad calm down!" As Mallion said that, two hands appeared on his dad's shoulders. Mallion's face turned from angry to frightened and he became pale. "Get your hands off me Mallion!" The hands then started to pull on his dad, trying to pull him through the bars of the cart. Mallion grabbed his dad's arms trying to pull him free of the hand's grasps, but wasn't strong enough. Mallion watched as his dad was folded in half, bones breaking, and pulled out of the cage. "Dad!" Mallion burst out crying, gasping for air. The theme parks lights turned off and the sound of screaming erupted down below. Mallion tugged on the door of the cart as hard as he could but it wouldn't budge, he ducked in the middle of the cart in a fetal position, wishing he could hide his glow.
He couldn't believe it, his eyes in tears, the smell of blood lingers in the air as he waits for the Ferris wheel to let him off, he's at the very top right now. All that remains is his dad's left shoe.
