Tuesday, February 1, 3200.

The planet Al-habash was a massive trade hub located in the Deianara system, which in turn was essentially in the middle of nowhere. The system was one of the largest in the sector, home to three inhabited planets and millions of people, but the nearest neighboring system was two weeks travel away with most ships. Merchants, smugglers, traders, and corporations all brought their wares to the planet to be sold. Mercenaries and spacers looking for work frequented the many bars and spaceports of the planet, and millions of credits changed hands each day in the planet’s capital. Essentially any service imaginable, legal or illegal, was available on some way on Al-habash.

The Nightingale had been trapped in the city’s spaceport since the ship had arrived several hours earlier. It was undergoing heavy repairs, refueling, and restocking after its last “expedition”. The crew had been asked to give the repair crew their compad information and would be contacted when the repairs were completed and they could return to their ship.

After paying for the repairs and supplies, the crew was essentially broke. What was left of the credits from their last job were now gone, leaving them with only pocket change. However, it wasn’t difficult for spacers to find work here. In fact, work tended to find the spacers, and this was true for the crew of the Nightingale.

“E” and Senth had already received several messages on their respective devices from people in need of a ship and a crew. The first message was from someone needing a shipment of medical supplies transported to the neighboring planet Meda. The second message was from a “Dr. Zaitsev” requesting transport offworld, and the third was from a representative of the “Spiker Cooperative” looking for a ship to investigate the loss of a Spiker ship in Orteguilla system.

Senth glanced at his Compad to see several alerts sent to him via the station's internal system. A few were adverts for stores selling food, pharmaceuticals and trade goods; one advert in particularly came across as rather suspicious and Senth wondered if they were selling something illegal. It seemed quite a risk to broadcast that on an open network. Amongst the garish, boasting advertisements were buried three job offers. In particular, his interest was piqued by mention of Spike Drives, a technology that still seemed so far removed from that which he grew up with that he still couldn't quite believe they existed. Either way, the prospect of getting back to work had Senth itching to leave. He headed back to the ship and reached the hangar a little earlier than the crew had agreed to rendezvous.

As the blast doors dutifully slid open, a swell of the sounds of fusing metal and whirring automated machines emanated from the enormous room. His now familiar craft was still being worked on, though the finishing touches by the repair bots were merely external, so Senth approached the ship to board. A smell of solder permeated the air. As Senth climbed aboard, the sounds outside became muffled, and soon began to die off as the remaining tasks were finished one by one.

"Aah, hell. I'm bored."

Clyde, as usual when off the Nightingale, was scurrying about looking for things that'd catch his interest. He was one for smaller, more trivial tasks rather than big important work. Though open for either if they came about his path. Having more personal spending money usually seemed like a good idea, considering the fact he was never certain of exactly how good their next payoff would be, if there would be one at all. He figured Senth and "E" would be getting some job offers, but would there be enough pay from those jobs for them to split in a worthwhile manner? Possibly so, possibly not. Of course, as long as he was still alive and not hungry, complaining was something he planned to not focus on.

Thinking of where he'd possibly go with all the options open to him, he figured he should just go to a bar. He wasn't planning on drinking much considering the credits he currently had, but a drink or two never hurt anyone, right? He glanced down as he walked, thinking. "I guess that depends... Would some pendejo poison a guy's booze...?" He shook his head, not wanting to think about it. Though it was in his head and didn't plan on leaving, much to his annoyance. "Damn it, now I'm going to be paranoid drinking in any pit around here." He grumbled to himself, deciding to now pass up on the drinks and save it for another day. Maybe he'd pick something up and bring it back to the ship with him. But that was for later, he still had some time to waste before the Nightingale was ready to go; So perhaps he'd just do that. Waste time.

Stopping in front of a building seeming to sell various electronic devices, he glanced in from outside through a window. A small whistle escaped him. "Man, I need to get me another dataslab one of these days. Could really help me find some work while off the ship like this." He commented to himself, recalling the dataslab he had for a short while before joining the crew in the first place; He ended up losing it one night after having a bit too much to drink. He figured someone had swiped it when he wasn't looking, but he wasn't sure. He might have just dropped it on his way home. Though he wouldn't of passed up flying the Nightingale for nearly anything, he knows he kept too focused on flying even when his original crew let him off, and it effected his general skills to where flying was pretty much what he did without much else. Unless a fight was breaking out, as even if he wasn't the most sturdy individual, he wasn't a pansy that'd hide and do nothing while the others fought.

Of course, if possible, he liked to usually dodge fighting when he could. It equaled less of a chance of dying, which was always good, and made sure he'd be able to head out again as soon as possible due to not being shot or stabbed. A day not having to deal with people who were giant assholes was a good day in his book.

Clyde chuckled. "Today's been peaceful so far, at least." His eyes widened, and quickly, he looked around. All he saw was a few people walking about and chatting. He sighed in relief, glancing back at the store. "I better watch my mouth before I jinx it..." He grumbled to himself, not trusting his luck when he speaks positively. He decided to move himself away from that topic. "Now then, where are those prices...? Aah, right there. Not as expensive as I thought..."

He was in his own little world, thinking about multiple little things that mattered to nobody but him. His usual way of acting when on his own.

"E"

The woman had kept her self busy at a back room casino. While her power isn't the most clear thing knowing to choose red in rolling quazer from the dream the night before hardly counts as using it. All be it a tad suspicious that she only played one game, was it even from a vision or honest to goodness luck? It would be better to think of it as coincidence Walking out with a little bit more than lunch money was enough to satisfy her, after all if you win to many games....well if those old 19th century tales paint an image, sleeping with the fishes has gotten a little more..."Airlocky"

She stopped at a nearby stall and bought a drink? Well it looked more like a bizzare fuel source, glowing a bright magenta and releasing a light blue mist....(Is this something humans can even drink?) Regardless of the questionable contents she sticks in a straw and sips away before strangely she rolled her eyes.

"Yeah yeah"

Once again its as if she knew the pad was going to inform her of incoming messages. E leaned against a wall sipping on her...beverage...Her eyes darted back and forth as she read the three request highlighted as urgent....she questioned why her crew always get such boring request. As she thought about it, her crew mates come to mind, Each with their annoying faces. She could try and predict the groups choice, her ideal one was to of course ignore these till something that offered enough money that she could stop eating bell peppers and beef( minus the beef) but she knows no matter what the out come....[b]"These are going to cost more to do than their payout..again....."[b]

As she arrived back at their "Junker" she saw the personel report informing her that Senth was already back...Odd. Who would honestly rush back to work? Well no matter she thought. Her finger pressed down activating the ships p.a. making sure anyone on the vessel would get her message. "Any chance the next place we stop can have a real latte? I am getting worried about all these glowing drinks I have been consuming as of late." She let off the button and made her way deeper onto the vessel likely to find her favorite napping spot...after all the pilot seat is designed for prolonged usage.

Clyde, after awhile, simply sighed. "Well, whatever. I should probably get back before the outer repairs are finished. Otherwise my chair'll get swiped." He shook his head, turning to his right to return to the ship from the way he came, but stopped as he heard an irritated groan coming from inside the store. He peeked through the window and noticed the clerk up at the counter, seeming irritated with the computer in front of her. "Poor gal doesn't look too tech savvy." He commented to himself, figuring she could use some help. Surely taking a little more time wouldn't hurt anybody, right? The repairs probably weren't finished... Probably.

Entering the store, he was amused as the clerk seemed to be getting progressively irritated at the device in front of her. She was young; this was probably one of her first jobs, Clyde figured. Surprisingly enough, some people even on the higher tech worlds didn't know much about technology. She wasn't exactly old enough to be experienced with computers unless she focused on learning about them, so whatever the issue was, it was probably not her fault she couldn't fix it. Clyde figured he knew a bit more, so he could help out somewhat. "Y'need some help?" He asked, stopping at the counter as the clerk glanced at him.

"Well," The girl began, crossing her arms under her chest as she glared back at the computer. "The damn thing has been real buggy since this morning. Occasionally things just close out when I'm in the middle of something, or just opens up stuff on it's own... I don't know what the hell it's doing." She explained, though not including many details that could help him. "I haven't gotten a single order done today due to this crap, and if my boss finds out, he'll be pissed."

Clyde nodded. "Hmm. Mind if I take a look at it? I'm not an Expert or anything, but I've been around my fair share of computers... And have had issues, too." He smiled, though the clerk simply questioned him. "Really? What caused it for you?" As soon as her words reached his ears, he turned his head slightly, coughing and taking a moment to say something back. "Eeh... Don't know. It just happens." He said, looking back at her. "But not knowing doesn't stop me from fixing it! So, lemme take a look, yeah?"

"I'd appreciate the help if you could look at it, honestly. Just... Please be careful not to break it or something, yeah?" Her request made him chuckle, as he walked around to the other side of the counter, stepping in front of the computer as she moved to the side. "Don't worry 'bout it. If I can't solve it, I won't try anything stupid."

Computers Roll: Success!

"You don't mind if I shut it off and back on, right?" Clyde asked, staring at the screen curiously as a game of solitaire popped up on the screen out of nowhere. The clerk nodded. "Go ahead, I don't think it'll hurt anything. Haven't made any progress today." Quickly, Clyde shut down the computer, waiting for it to shutdown completely before turning it back on. "Alright, this is a pretty basic computer. Just gotta boot it up in Safe Mode, and do a few scans..."

"What?" The clerk blurted out, not knowing what he was doing in the slightest aside from possibly fixing her problem.

Clyde smiled slyly. "Hey, you could learn a thing or two, you ought to pay close attention." He gestured for her to get closer and she did just that, leaning onto the table to see the screen better. Clyde simply began getting to work, explaining things in the most basic sense he could as he did the tasks. "Alright, so the first thing is opening the boot menu..."

[Center]-Some Minutes Later...-

After doing some scans, finding a virus that was for the most part just some harmless prank that got overly annoying, and disposing of it, Clyde rebooted the computer back into it's normal state, standing up strait and grinning. "That ought to do it. Shouldn't be having anymore problems now." He glanced over at the clerk, heeding the words that she spoke. "I can't thank you enough for this. Hopefully it worked, and I can finally get these orders done." She seemed happy, and Clyde, though happy to help, couldn't help but run his mouth. "It was no problem, though... I have no idea how that virus got there. Seems similar to one I got while... Uh, browsing."

"..." The clerk was quiet, and Clyde nodded with his grin. "I ain't gonna say anything, just be careful, yeah?"

"Of course. And I can't let you go without at least a little something... I can let you shop here with my employee discount, perhaps? Though if too much sells at those prices my boss will notice, since I'm not exactly a big spender." She sighed, seeming to think it was fair enough. Clyde did as well, liking this reward. "That's alright. Maybe just one item, then?" He was happy as she nodded in agreement, and in return for his work, he managed to score a compad for 75 credits due to her employee discount. Talk about good deals!

After saying goodbye, Clyde left with his new compad, figuring he'd mess with it later. It was getting around to that time he should head back to the ship. So that'd be his next move. "Repairs ought to be done within' too long. We'll be out of here and back in the sky, heh..." He was happy, and not much at the moment could ruin his mood.
