Cassie stood. She felt like she could sleep for days. It had been close to a week since she had been in an actually bed. "Yes, thanks!" She said with a smile, then said "I have a bunch of normal wolves that follow me around. I doubt I could order them away. Will that be a problem?"

"why of course miss chrystella, come with me young men, I shall show you your resting place" he said walking away, he wished he knew were the girls were sleeping, but knew it was for the better, no point in getting pumped up for nothing, thought he almost couldn't help himself. Maybe he could find them later, for just a quick peek, he didn't want to seem that creepy, maybe he could shape himself as someone else so they wouldn't know it was him. Marduk shook his head, why would he think of such a thing, chrystella had been so kind and he repaid her with dirty thoughts, for shame he thought, for shame.

As Marduk opened the door to a guest room, he kicked the door open and placed his hands wide apart to show the intire room, it was well organized, especially since he was living there, he was a dirty person, yet he cleaned well if instructed.

With the two girls permission, Chrystella led them up the tower and to the level just below her own private quarters. She stopped in front of two wooden doors right next to each other and opened one for Cassandra and then opened the other for Say'ri. "I have made up the beds for you to use if you so desire and there are private ensuites as well as fresh towels. You are welcome to rest and if you need anything I will be in my study upstairs." She told them and excused herself politely. She would be in her study all night long because ever since receiving her immortal rune, she rarely slept and if she did then it was only for a few hours once a week. Chrystella sat at her desk and began researching and writing down notes.

Cassie said thank you, then made her way to the bed. She sat down, let out a small whimper of joy t a nice, soft bed instead of sleeping on the ground.

Shs at the edfte bend, knees to her chest, arms wrapped aroun them. She did mess the closeness of the wolves, the normal wolves she had grown up with, but knew they were okay. She sighed still.

Marduk burst into chrystella's room with a tray of food, a mix of vegetables, meat fruit and bread all finished off with a glass of water. As he walked to her he tripped but managed to save the tray's contents, but falling on his knee. He finally made it to her a placed the tray down and smiled, thought it made him seem more like a psychopath than a nice person. He had cooked the food in hopes it would save him from falling under the control of his perverted thoughts, he felt shame for even thinking on spying on them, but tempted as well, if only his conscious could stop him, but he had learned to ignore that long ago, only now did it come back, still it had little power over his judgement.

"you should eat ma'am you have a torturous journey ahead, and you can't adventure on an empty stomach" he said as he backed away.

Chrystella didn't look up from her work and the only sign of her noting Marduk's presence, was the momentary pause of her pen. It wasn't until he set the tray down and spoke to her that she finally stopped her work and looked at him. "Thank you Marduk, this is very thoughtful of you." She stared at him for a little while and quirked her lips. "If you are looking to stay busy you may help sort through these tomes." She suggested, having an inkling of just why he took the time to cook for her.

MArduk was glad to help, anything to get his mind off the other girls at his new home, even if it meant risking breaking a tome, which he would seldom do. true he was a clutz and he did have a few slip through his hands but always caught them, they were the one thing he could do that made him seem like he really did help, and they kept his mind off things, well almost. Marduk tried to focus on the tomes but couldn't get his mind off the others, he bit his lip and ground his teeth but they stayed on his mind.

"sorry if this is rude, I don't mean to pass judgement but are you sure these people are safe, what if they are on the other side, they seem, well shady, practcally human" he said nervously.

Cassie couldn't relax. She tried to, but every time she did, she worried about her wolf pack, worried about her family, her parents, and brothers. She sighed, rising, and walked slowly out the room, going to sit outside and contemplate. She sat on the steps, looking out over the ground.

she softly sang under her breath, a song her mother use to sing when she was a pup. It always made her feel better.

Marduk tensed up when he heard the song, while it sounded sweet and at any normal time would have him more comfortable, but it added to the morbid thoughts of what he believed that the others maybe up to. It was clearly the sound of a woman which on a normal day would have given him dirty and perverted thoughts, today it gave him chills.

Say'ri sighs as she paces her room, 'Of course tonight had to be one of the nights I can't stand still. Tomorrow we go on a journey to save the world and I can't even rest...' She continues to pace until she hears some singing coming from the room next to her and smiles, 'A nice old song. Seems like Cassie can't sleep hmm...'

Looking around she leaves her room and walks over to Cassie's room and knocks, "May I come in?"

Cassie paused in her signing and said "yes" she said, the opened the door. "Did I wake you?" She asked, "I didn't mean to, sorry!"

She ran a hand through her hair, somewhat embarrassed, looking at Say'ri as she waited for an answer.

Chrystella stayed silent and looked out the window and just stared. She waited for the singing to stop before she answered Marduk. She continued to stare out the window while she spoke. "They are... as safe as I am Marduk." Came her soft response and she finally turned to him. "You say they are practically human? Well then I guess I am too. We share the same likeness as the humans. We laugh, cry, hate and love, just as much as they do. We were their brethren once long ago..." A distant look came over her and she turned back to the window. "We shared the world together, there was peace. For awhile, then a religious monarch decided that we were cursed and must be burnt in repentance of our birth. You have heard the history Marduk, but do you know the truth?" Her gaze met his for a moment before she looked back down at her work. The truth had been hidden by hate, but there were those who still knew it.

Smiling at Cassie Say'ri enters, "You didn't wake me. Vampires don't sleep as much as other creatures. Seems like you can't though," she turns to the young werewolf, "Is there something bothering you?

"I'm just worried" Cassie said, shifting so Say'ri could sit on the bed as well. "I've never been so far from home, and now I'm going to go even further. What if I die? How will my family know what has happened to me?" Cassie wasn't afraid of dying. Everything had to die in its own time, after all.

She sighed, "I just don't want to be alone"

The truth had been hidden by hate, but there were those who still knew it.

Marduk looked around before going back to his work, his mind was stirring with emotions and questions but he would bide his tongue, he was sure crystella did know this 'truth' and it probably wasn't her side alone, but he realized now that she really was like a human, but did that mean she acted like them? What kind of animal was he that he would have done the evil he did to those poor, forsaken and doom victims of his. He could see it now, she was as fatalistic as the ones that met there demise by his hands, it was clear to him now that she was very shaken up about this journey. Marduk let out a sigh as he looked at the next tome, not really having a clue what it was. But that didn't matter to him now, the woman that was like an arch angle to him, the one he saw as a perfect being, practically seeing her as a god, as in shamble by something, this brought out the one emotion he had long forgotten, that was true fear.

Marduk's eyes became deep-set and his normal happy-go-lucky smile came to a frown, he hadn't even left and he was already ravaged by the quest ahead, maybe he wasn't cut out for it after all.

"what is the truth?" he said silently, the thought came out unintentionally.

Say'ri smiles at Cassie, "Well you won't be. You have others who will help and anyways I know how your feeling," she looks into the distance, "I was forced out ot my village after I became a vampire and thought the same thing many times. To be honest I think it would be better if they didn't know so they could believe that you have a pack of your own and living happily."
