Hello Demous! How are you?
Last time on Dusk: Return of Caligo Nox:
Chrystella’s cousin Chryston, the only relative of hers that came to visit after the immortal rune was unwillingly inscribed upon her, once again confronts her about having it removed. Fed up with the fact that he keeps bringing it up despite knowing and accepting that it can never be removed, Chrystella finally explodes, telling him that he needs to stop wasting his life on something that can never be undone.
Upset with how she keeps pushing everyone away, he brings up that not even her own mother comes to visit. It was a low blow and Chrystella sends him away, telling him that if he wants to cross the barrier into the human side, then so be it, but she would not let him back. Retreating to her room in tears, she leaves Chryston to show himself to the door, but before he leaves he writes a letter, one that contained when he would be back. In exactly one month.

Having found Chryston’s letter one month ago, she could not find it within herself to just abandon him and sets out to look for his return so that she could let him back through. Strange disturbances begin to collide with the barriers surface, as if looking for a weakness and Chrystella wrote upon its surface and made it release a wave of repelling energy so that whatever it was trying to get through would get the message and stop trying.
It was then that she noticed over on the other side of the barrier, a humanoid form covered in writhing shadows approaching. It was reaching for the barrier and just as the shadow covered hand touched the barrier. Instantly a light display began in response to a touch without an Entry Rune and tried repelling the intrusion. The longer the hand remained more and more of the shadow was blown back and revealed what was underneath. A young man and as more shadows were removed the man became increasingly familiar.
“Chyston…” She whispered breathlessly and once the name left her lips his eyes darted to her. From sunken, sleep deprived eyes, tears began to form. His skin was chalky white and he looked severally malnourished, it was like the shadows had been draining his very life force.
When the shadows were completely removed from his body, Chryston finally allowed himself to be blasted away from the barrier in a final flash of light. Chrystella ran after him, right through the barrier and to his side. Checking for injuries she only found a singed palm.
“I Found it… I-it exists and… and the answer is there. B-But, it’s my fault… My fault!” His weak body began to spasm from the strain and grabbing onto Chrystella’s arms he whispered, “He is back… And angry, very angry. With only a taste of my blood he saw my memories. H-he saw… you.” His words sent a shiver down her spine; however she ignored it and tried to calm him down.
“Shh it is alright now. It’s okay. I am here.” She cooed softly and pulled him into her lap, stroking his hair just like she use to when he was much younger. Sleepily he stared up at her and raised a bony, ice cold hand to her cheek.
“At least I didn’t fail my promise. Find the way to break the immortal rune, even if it is the last thing I do, so that Ella doesn’t have to be lonely. I just wish I could be there… to see you happy.” His whispers were getting increasingly harder to hear and his eyes stared at her unseeingly. Another tremor shook his body, yet he continued to speak.
“Flee… Hide... Just try... But your life…” Those were the last words he spoke before he died and turned to ash in her arms.
Broken from her despair at the appearance of mindless hybrids, Chrystella was a little late in dodging and received a scratch on the arm, which prompted her to return into the barrier and head right home. Injury having just received treatment, Chrystella was pulled from her house by Cassandra, who had news of a werewolf trapped on the human side of the barrier and surrounded by a group of the same hybrid creatures that she had faced earlier that morning.
Both Cassandra and Chrystella help Zachary and soon Say’ri appears and joins in. With all hybrids defeated, the group returns to Chrystella’s house, so that Cassies injury could be healed and they could discuss why the hybrids were there in the first place.
As soon as the injury had been taken care of, Chrystella feels another disturbance along the barrier and goes to investigate, leaving the three there, but Zac soon follows after. Upon reaching the source of the disturbance, Chrystella finds that it is a Contracted Undertaker. A being of such unequalled power needed to be treated with reverence and she made it so. The exchanging of pleasantries was given and reasons of access provided, Chrystella asked for permission to inscribe Dragnaist with an Entry Rune
