the Setting

They say alot of Shinobi events were recorded and put in stories, like when Konohagakure and Sunagakure did not see eye to eye, and fought a deadly war, or when the foreigners came with change over the major countries; Iwagakure, Kumogakure, Kirigakure, Sunagakure and Konohagakure respectively paid a heavy toll each. However not many know the origin of snow, compared to the events that have taken place in the mainland, this village is a mere snowflake.

Being ruled by a Daimyo who had both the power and the money to centralize his country, the country would have turned to a dictatorship, however 3 clans challenged the lords gigantic army with attitudes of warriors and hearts of beasts. They lead their combined army through the snow. Many lives were lost and many tears shed, however in the end they had the warlord on his knees and ready for his fate. After the death of the warlord the Land of snow was divided into 3 parts, and things would grow slightly better until another problem arose. The leaders were prideful and stubborn, and never would they join forces in a lifetime. The splitting of the Snow country drove people into confusion, not to mention that the firepower of the clans were divided oddly.

One clan, the Himura clan, that originated from the Hot Spring Country acted first.The clan had a numerical advantage, however it the main hold was in the centre proving to be quite a hazard if any of their fronts broke. However the advantage of surprise was on their side and they managed to get the drop on one entire clan before anyone even knew what was happening. The other clan followed suit in a civil war that took longer than it should have. It was after the civil war things became peaceful, as the one surviving clan now ruled this small, small country. Due to this, the Himura became the face of Yukigakure, the famed clan that everyone thought of when the name Yukigakure was dropped, though there were many other clans that came to aid in the construction to a much more mighty Snow country.

Slowly over the years it became mightier and more powerful, and in it's current state has cast it's eyes on the horizon, looking to expand and conquer. With the new graduates coming in and the village being comfortable for once they hope to see a massive leap in succesions.

the Ranks

As is common knowledge, here are the ranks ranked from low to high:

A) Genin
A fresh academy graduate and the main force of any village. These shinobi are from all kinds of ranges - from prodigies to low-life, barely-graduated shinobi.

They have access to 3 D ranked techniques and 2 C ranked techniques at the start, however they will progress fast.

B) Chunnin
Only the best genin will be able to surpass the genin stage to this level, having to go through a series of trials known as the Chunnin Exams. These exams are no joke, as they are a way for Yukigakure to show it's power to the outside world.

They have access to 5 D ranked techniqued and 4 C ranks defaultly.

C) Jonin
Experienced Chunnin get promoted to Jonin status, giving them the authority to lead a team of their own if they wish. These are generally the captains of a four-man cell including them, however exceptions can be made. They are generally quite powerful, and act like an elite force in the Shinobi army of the village that are not Special Ops.

As Jonin you get 7 C rank techniques along with 3 B rank techniques and unlimited D rank techniques.

D) Special Ops
The Special Ops situation in Yukigakure is quite a strange one compared to the other villages, as in they don't have an official ANBU set up. Instead, they use six legendary Shinobi that showed extreme prowess in the civil war. These are comparable with the legends of old, such as the Sannin of Konohagakure. Currently the positions are not open for anyone, and there is no known way to be promoted into their ranks other than showing extreme prowess in battle, and outside of battle.

Default techniques are not important for these, as these positions can only be gained through IC development.

the Rules

1. Use your manners.
We don't want to see an argument every day in our OOC. Discussions are good, but fighting about stuff isn't. Just be polite to others.

2. If you wanna be critical, be constructive.
[i]Nobody learns from ''That post was shit!'' and everyone learns from ''I think that post wasn't good because ____''. Be nice. Be constructive.

3. Please make a Genin before requesting any other characters.
[i]Keep in mind that, if for example, for every 1 Genin there was 1 Jonin, there would be 75% too much Jonin to lead teams.

3.1. No rogue Shinobi, unless we explicitly request you to make one.
If we need a rogue Shinobi for plot reasons, we will ask a person to make one. This is to stop people from just playing this like a sandbox Naruto roleplay where they can get 200 secret techniques and murder everyone.

4. Use common sense and make your character as strong as a character of his level would be.
Nothing to add here, this should make sense to you.

5.Naruto is all about fighting. That is why we like it, because of the story-aspects mixed with the awesome combat that is possible. This is NOT a deathmatch however.
If you want to fight another player, ask them first. Nobody likes getting their characters slaughtered because they weren't prepared, or don't like the fighting aspect. If you really want to kill someone and they probably won't say yes, but you can prove it would benefit the story or roleplay you can discuss with the GM's.

6. Being in Yukigakure, it wouldn't make sense if every other character had a Sharingan. A few would be possible, but don't overdo it.
We reserve the right to deny a character with a Sharingan if we feel that A) the reason he has it makes no sense (for non-Uchiha) or B) there is too many Sharingans already.

7. Have fun.
No really. If you're not having fun in this RP it's time to ask yourself if you really want to be here. Please ask a GM to help if you feel like something is wrong.

Known history and secrets: Sayuri was born in Amegakure, daughter of a famed flower merchant lady, her father a shinobi who was not well known but not a total nobody either. Early on she started her dream to become a shinobi, quickly rising through the ranks and becoming a jonin at a mere 16. Five years down that line and she was already one of the amekages most trusted jonin. The years before this had been mostly uneventful. As a result of this all she was sent to Yukigakure as an envoy to serve as the Yukikage's assistant due to the specific situation that this village was in. As a result of the civil war that had been brewing there for a while, the kage could not pick an assistant that was satisfactory to all the parties involved. Therefore help from Amegakure was requested, and Amegakure supplied them with Sayuri.

Sayuri is well known among Yukigakure because of this - she is after all a quite strong shinobi. And that aside, for most of the shinobi and townspeople of Yukigakure the outside world is rather exotic and rain is new to them. And to imagine a village hidden in the rain, it is quite amazing for them. Sayuri however isn't a fan of all the attention she has received and had hoped for a more quiet entrance into the village and to be accepted as one of their own. She likes to be a symbol.. however not for a reason that has nothing to do with the values of shinobi all over the world.
Personality: Sayuri is a silent type - she doesn't like speaking much. However, due to her position as assistant and being quite the figure in this village she is forced daily to talk to people, much to her dislike. Besides that, she generally just talks about the job she is doing and that mainly is bringing papers back and forth, which is again much to her dislike. In order to get a break from this she has recently filled in an application to the kage in order for her to get a team assigned to her.

She is a person that likes to get the job done. Standing around waiting for god knows what isn't her idea of a nice day. She prefers to go out and do the task assigned to her, and if you give her a task you can guarantee she will do it or die before she completes it. She would sooner go down fighting than to run like a coward, however this isn't to say she blindly charges into every fight - if she knows she wouldn't win regardless she would consider trying to escape but will make sure to do it while doing as much damage as she can.
Clan: Amaya clan.
Dreams and aspirations: To become a symbol for shinobi and kunoichi all over the world, to protect and serve Yukigakure and Amegakure as best as she can and to always do what she thinks is right.
General strengths: Poisons, marksmanship with senbon, nintaijutsu, very steadfast and stubborn, hides true intentions well.
General weaknesses: Sometimes can be too stubborn, susceptible to genjutsu, her kenjutsu and general ninjutsu use is just average, too prideful for her own good.

Description: The user sends a large amount of chakra to a direction, disrupting the air flow using the chakra nature. Using the disruption, the user can force the weather to become very windy, and with correct conditions in the environment can even make it blow so hard that you'll have to hold onto something to be able to stand. Other possible side effects from the environment (blizzards, rain storms) possible. Besides that, rather harmless technique used to create more favorable situations.
Weakness: Other wind techniques could easily disrupt the air flow, stopping the storm easily. The technique on it's own doesn't do any damage, and needs specific situations to be able to change anything to the favor of the user.

Name: Wind Release: Heavy Blow Technique

Description: Using the creation of small wind pockets behind the users arms, the user can increase the speed of their attacks and thus, increase the damage done when hits connect. There's nothing special to this trick, really.
Weakness: by using another wind technique, the airflow can be disrupted. That aside, simply avoiding the attack will account to wasted chakra on the users side.

Discription: The Dai Senbon is a senbon, except it's very large. It's large enough that it fits on the users' back, acting as a sword. In essence, the Dai Senbon is a huge senbon-shaped sword. At the bottom there is a large handle wrapped with linens, where the user can hold it. This part is thinner than the senbon itself.

Discription: Senbon are large needles, thrown or used to stab an opponent (though generally thrown). Users can apply poison, which is exactly what Sayuri does, as she is quite the poison expert.

Name: Poison pouch
Appearance:
Discription: This pouch is outfitted with multiple inkwells, carefully put into padded areas in the pouch to avoid spilling or breaking. While this pouch is usually not carried into battle and used at home, rather, it can be used in battle to quickly poison a blade or senbon. Sayuri's pouch holds multiple deadly poisons, some more capable than others.

Name: Purple Ivy's Sap
Appearance: a small vial, filled with a purple type of juice. It's inside the poison pouch.
Discription: Purple Ivy's Sap is a poison that, when ejected into the bloodstream through means of senbon or a cut with a blade, will slowly make it's way through the body at first, undetectable untill it's too late. The main effect of this poison is a feeling of drowsiness or sleepiness. Shinobi will fight through this, but it will most likely hinder their vision and reaction speed. Poison effects last for about five minutes.

Name: Red Dragonflower Pulp
Appearance: a small vial, filled with a red, mushy pulp. It's inside the poison pouch.
Discription: Red Dragonflower Pulp is a pulp made from ground Red Dragonflower and several common herbs found in most kitchens. The Dragonflower is the rare and most potent part of this poison. It's also injected into the bloodstream, but has the effect of paralysis depending on how much of the body is infected by the pulp. This is dependant on both the amount used and the availability of a medical nin, which can easily stop this poison. If not stopped, it will make it's way through the body of the attacked person. At full potential (all of the vial) this poison can even stop the heart of the victim, killing him. Highly unlikely however that you use up a full vial as the Red Dragonflower is hard to obtain.

Name: Blinding Bolete Extract
Appearance: a small vial, filled with a black juice. It's inside the poison pouch.
Discription: Blinding Bolete Extract is extracted from the commonplace Black Bolete. While it is commonplace, it's also a matter of extreme care. If you cut the wrong area of the bolete, it will secrete gasses rendering the rest of the bolete unusable. And unluckily enough this happens on 9 out of 10 boletes. The extract, if extracted successfully, will be able to blind the person infected with it for life if treatment doesn't come within a day. The effects settle in slowly, ending with permanent full blindness if the victim isn't helped by a medical nin at the end of the day. Treatment is simple, unless the permanent effects have settled in, in which case it's irreversible.

.. if you can make it work? Heck yeah! Why not? Reasonable use of his powers and skill with the release is more important than the actual release itself in general, unless the release is so broken that we just say no outright no matter how well it's written. Just keep in mind that he'll probably be a genin and therfore not spew out laserbeams from his mouth every times he opens it :P

That's fine, and it's appreciated that you did. It's a sort of general thing, like if everyone has storm release, it won't be much fun, but mostly this problem is usually with Sharingan. I'm gonna sleep now, finish my genin tomorrow.

Known history and secrets: When he was just 4 years old, Shinka was brought to the land of snow by his dying mother. While she didn't last long after they reached Yuki, she was able to divulge a little information before her death; the Arashino were an independent clan, one that had the Storm Release Kekkei Genkai. A few months prior, their home had been attacked by an unknown group, and were completely wiped out, except for Shinka and his mother. While she was mortally wounded protecting him, she was able to stave off death with her skills in medical jutsu. While she wasn't able to save any of the clan's jutsu scrolls, she was able to retrieve one that detailed the nature of Storm Release. An 'idiot's guide to Storm Release' if you will. As it was the closest village, Shinka's mother brought him to Yuki, hoping that the village leaders would find her son's Kekkei Genkai valuable enough to take care of him. After being assured that Shinka would be able to stay in Yuki, she was able to finally die in peace.

After his mother died, Shinka was given a small apartment and had allowance just big enough to provide himself with food and clothes, under the condition that he enter the ninja academy when he came of age. Something that the four year old was just fine with (one could argue that borderline manipulation to have a 4 year old make that kind of decision. However the enthusiasm he showed during his training makes it a moot point; even if he didn't fully understand what he was getting into, he's still glad he did). During his early years, babysitting him was a common D rank mission. Not wanting to waste his mother's sacrifice, Shinka threw himself into his ninja training, focusing on his ninjutsu, in hopes restoring his clan's lost jutsu library. While this meant that his physical skills, he ended up top of his class in ninjutsu. In fact, he only barely passed the other portions of the graduation exam. What brought his average up was he excellent performance on the ninjutsu part of the test.

Personality: Shinka is a cheerful boy, driven by fulling what he believes to be his mother's dying wish of having him restore the clan (it wasn't, she just wanted her son to be safe). The complete destruction of his clans jutsu knowledge influenced his path as a ninja into ninjustsu specialization. Despite his goal of restoring his clan, his rather innocent mind hasn't seemed to grasp exactly what that would require. It also doesn't help that he's bashful around girls. A result of too many kunoichi making a game out of teasing him when he was younger, because according to them; he was adorable as a little kid.

He like to talk a lot during a fight, as it both helps him keep his cool, and has the chance of possible unnerving his opponent. As such, he's shown a natural aptitude for it, even going as far as winning a few taijutsu only sparing matches by making his opponent loose their composer and mess up. His preferred forms of mid fight banter include; small talk, trash talk, and criticizing his opponents trash talk. Despite that, he's not mean spirited, far from it. He's about as gentle as a ninja can afford to be

I got a few pointers. First off, I don't really know the whole ordeal with Storm release as I only saw it in the anime a few times and not much was explained about it so I used the wiki and you were right.. creative liberties were in place here haha. So the fact that notable users were Kumogakure shinobi (which were unrelated by blood) means that it's possible that your clan died out and other people wanting to join could have this release and have the jutsu for it because apparently anyone can have this release as long as they meet certain unknown prerequisites.

That aside you messed up the URLs for the jutsu. Don't worry I did that a million times, just put [url= before what you have right now.
As for the techniques being D rank... I can see that. But that also means that they likely won't be as powerful as when someone who is much stronger than him would use him. For instance the water bullet would be less powerful than what powerful characters have shown in the anime. Not really a problem but keep that in mind. Imagine the difference between a raikiri from Kakashi, and then imagine it from a young Sasuke. The difference would be pretty big.

Well as for the backpack, kunai and shuriken are counted under basic tools and amenities so basically you don't have to put them there. If you feel it's too empty you could put them there. If you don't want him to have any weapons whatsoever save kunai, shuriken and explosive tags etc (basic stuff) then just remove it like you did. Nothing to worry about.

All in all it's a good, solid character.

Kyou's Father needles to say, does not entirely speak of the past nor what happened to her mother. At a young age of 5, her Father would involve her in business matters, a merchant to be exact, together the father and daughter would travel to other countries such as Suna and sell goods and products. As a commoner of Yukigakure, Kyou aspires to be a splendid Kunoichi to honor her Father and partly to find answers, however; it was the opposite, her Father was reluctant of her being one, she was given two choices, if she doesn't make any progress within a year, she must give up and continue the family business but if she succeeds, she is free to continue and pursue her life as a ninja(She succeeded becoming a full fledged Genin, however). She attended the ninja academy at the age 7 after eavesdropping from her Father's conversation with a close relative, Kyou took her training seriously ever since. Now, an adventure awaits for the young Kunoichi.

Personality:
Kyouka usually has an energetic personality like a walking battery, excited and fired up. She is good at negotiating, thanks to being brought to business with her Father. Apart from her workaholic like energy,she strives for perfection and excellence which is one of the causes of her mild cocky attitude and inconsideration however; she is still kind to her peers and makes up for her misdeeds. When it comes to people her age, she is a bit shy and resorts to a mean fashion of expressing herself thus the latter gets her int fights. She easily gets angered when things don't go her way and will do anything to get what she wants. Kyou can be at her best if she thinks things through than acting first. She's a pretty bad liar as well, not wanting to admit her faults and is prone to naïveté when not having a full proof counter/resolve. In battle her fighting style is deceit which comes out as a disgrace; this is an aspect that fits her business persona where she uses tricks to bribe a client.

Dreams and aspirations:
kyou's desires are either planned or claimed by opportunity. The personal ones are finding answers about her Mother. The major ones is to be a splendid Kunoichi and give her all to she does best. She's finding herself and painting her own canvas to dictate her own path not given by her father nor anyone else.

General strengths:
The Ninja Mindset; it's all about deceit and smarts to get the job done which plays a major aspect to her fighting style and ideals.
The swords woman. Currently one of her prized assets, she practiced wielding a wooden sword four months before Genin promotion. She is still a novice at it.
Capable at performing genjutsu.

General weaknesses:
She is so self centered that it's all about "me" and this strucks up a fatal flaw when it comes to teamwork or not. Teamwork or not, she is blindly selfish enough to assist her needs and get people to do things her way. A perfect example is doing things on her own. Recklessness can get her killed.

Jerk has a point; she's not too empathic; her lack of consideration sometimes can lead to downing her peers instead of cheering them up, she is frank and awfully honest. This can even come straight out rude and disrespectful which in return became a habit. Worst comes to worst, it adds up to her arrogance, it comes closer to superiority complex.

While she has a good body built; she lacks proper chakra control.

Being able to use a jutsu =/= mastery. An Uchiha is considered high tier for it's class. None the less, any Uchiha genin would likely get his bowels kicked out of him by a chuunin. Unless you play some form of a prodigy.

But yeah, all in all, a genin with elemental jutsus available is probably quite strong or misses a lot of the basics a shinobi would have.

Kyouka seems like a walking paradox.. which I like. She's well balanced so Kyouka is in. In case I missed it, Shinka is in as well.

Shinka is a ninjutsu specialist. He focused most of his training on improving his chakra control and capacity. Because of this, he's sub par at everything else. Think of him as a ninjutsu version of Lee.

That's what the strengths and weaknesses are for, in it's essence. Also the reason you need to kinda balance it - a character with superb chakra control, Naruto-size chakra levels and a kekkei genkai will simply not be good. Even if he got accepted, he'd just be a bad character story wise.

He doesn't have Naruto level charka capacity. I don't think that's possible without some kind of special Kekkei Genkai or being a Jinchurikin since the day you were born. I'd say that at most, Shinka has Chunin levels of chakra. As for chakra control; well, Sakura had good enough chakra control to complete the tree climbing exorcise in one try, despite the fact that we hadn't seen any indication that she had put any significant work into her chakra control. Am I saying that he's at Sakura's level? No. I'm just listing a cannon example of insane chakra control from someone without any kind of special power

Known history and secrets: Itsuki was born in a small village at the Snow country coast, though they moved to Yukigakure itself soon after Itsuki's birth so that they could get better jobs. Itsuki was a quiet, calm kid. He never really cried when he was a baby, nor when he was a kid. He went to the shinobi academy and graduated when he was 12, and has been a genin for 3 years now. The reasoning for this was more or less that the past 3 years they haven't participated in any of the chunnin exams. His childhood was relatively calm - playing with other kids, then later on practicing ninjutsu and shuriken throwing with them. He was never really good at any of that stuff, and was average.. on a good day.

Not to say that he got bullied for not being a prodigy. Matter of fact, many of his classmates were good friends of his, as far as he had friends. He always considered them more of ''village-mates'' rather than friends. He's always considered friendship to be non-existant, a tool for other people to get what they want from you. But.. he believes in the village, it's people and the Yukikage, who is some form of hero for this young shinobi. It's unclear to many people why he loves the Yukikage so much, and Itsuki finds it to be unimportant to tell them. Maybe he will not defend the people in the village because he is friends with them.. but he will defend them because they are the villagers of the Yukikage.

Personality: Itsuki is the kind of boy that faces his trouble head-first and doesn't think too much about it. He believes that even if you are bad at throwing shuriken, kunai or explosive tags, are not that good with ninjutsu.. or any jutsu, that even then you can still be a good shinobi. A good shinobi in your heart at least. He is very self sacrificial, and will do anything to complete a mission, even if it ends in death.

In that aspect, he is also willing to sacrifice his own health for that of others - he will jump through a deadly jutsu to save a fellow villager. He's a quiet, calm boy who can get angry in battle in the sense that he will get much more ferocious in his attacks and would maybe start attacking without much notice of what's going on around him, an addition to the fact that he likes to take on a battle head first.

Clan: Yudai.
Dreams and aspirations: To become a proper shinobi, to always maintain the code of honour he had made for himself and to make sure that people recognize him as a true shinobi from the heart.
General strengths: He is quite adept at ninjutsu but for now lacks the self control needed to make full use of this strength. Besides that his taijutsu is pretty good, nothing far above average but he can stand his own pretty well. His head on attitude has given him a tough skin, able to withstand a lot of hits before he fully succumbs and would be unable to stand - he will generally keep getting up until his body can't take anymore or he wins, even if the chances of winning are almost nihil.
General weaknesses: No proper tactical insight, so he has no clue who would best fight what opponent. His head on attitude sometimes conflicts with other shinobi in his team who do not know how to make use of his attitude. That aside he's below average at most ninja techniques, and for now cannot really make use of his ninjutsu skills as he hasn't explored these techniques a lot.

Comes from a long line of messengers. His family are people of fleet feet, not of sharp swords. The Kazeno clan are spread out into almost every village and are used as messngers between villages, due to their excellent speed and quick thinking. Marco immigrated to the Land Of Snow after a falling out with his family back home in the land of fire a couple of years ago, where he had no training at the Academy, and instead joined the Academy in the Hidden Snow Village. He's showed to be an excellent swordsman and has already earned quite some fame.

His swordsmanship is unlike that of most shinobi, especially Genin. It's uncertain where he received his training in the art.
