Unfortunately, French is compulsary in parts of Britain up to a certain point. ...Possibly all of Britain, but I can't remember. ^^;

Only if they're free. I'm really cheap like that. I have two really good free apps that have helped me a whole lot: i-Sokki and Tae Kim's Learning Japanese. In fact, just using those things and I'm beginning to understand at least 10% of anime dialogue right now. Sometimes the things I study I hear later on that same day when watching an episode.
