Bio: Aidan was born and raised by your run-of-the-mill Irish family in the city of Belfast. Growing up, apart from being the youngest of five older brothers, Aidan didn't have any unique death-defying experiences that might set him apart from a room of kids. He didn't do anything exceptionally well in school, he wasn't involved in any gangs or illegal activity, and he never strayed too far out beyond the law. So besides taking part in an above average number of fights, Aidan's early years were nothing special.
It was in the military that Aidan found his true calling. Seeking a life of adventure, he enlisted in the British Army at the age of sixteen. There, somewhere between basic military training and volunteering for the Parachute Regiment, Aidan found he was a crack shot and thoroughly enjoyed being in the field. Passing each of the Paras' assessments with flying colors, Aidan would eventually go on to serve with distinction with the regiment as a sniper throughout the Iraqi War, earning the rank of Lance Corporal along the way.
Six years after enlisting in the British Army, with several tours of duty under his belt, Aidan briefly found himself out of the military and attempting to reintegrate back into civilian life. This would prove to be unsuccessful however and it wasn't long before Aidan reenlisted in the Army. But instead of rejoining the Paras again, Aidan decided to up the ante, becoming a candidate for the Special Air Service and pushing himself to the very limit during it's brutal selection process and training programs. Like the Parachute Regiment though, Aidan would eventually go on to become a full fledged member of the group and served with distinction during his time with them. But such time would turned out to be, as it were, relatively short in comparison. This was the result of a botched mission in Afghanistan where Aidan's entire patrol were wiped out, with the exception of Aidan himself.
The mission had been a more or less routine run. The location of a Taliban commander had been discovered by British Intelligence and, given the fact that it was deep within Taliban-held territory and the regional's dense forests and mountain range significantly hindered aerial surveillance, a reinforced SAS patrol was sent in to gather intelligence and kill the commander if at all possible. As the patrol's designated marksman, when they finally found the compound their target had been staying at, Aidan had been placed on overwatch for the assault element. But when the British moved in, some supernatural creature abruptly arrived on the scene and savagely attacked anyone and everyone within the compound. Those who escaped the immediate massacre were either killed in the crossfire between SAS forces and Taliban insurgents or promptly hunted down by the monster.
Aidan, who escaped due in part to his distance from the compound when the nightmare began, had lost all of his surveillance gear and any sort of evidence that could have backed up his after action report by the time he was extracted by a team of American pararescuemen. As the sole survivor, there was no one else to back up his statement either. And unfortunately for him, his report detailing what had only before been seen in horror films didn't bode well for him either. Ultimately it was to be decided by a military review committee that Aidan either had a direct hand in the events that had occurred, making him a traitor to his country, or that something so traumatic had happened to him in the field that he was no longer mentally sound, making him crazy. This led to the entire operation being covered up, all records of it being purged and Aidan being throw in prison, where he was expected to live the rest of his life in isolation from the rest of the outside world. Only this was not to be the case as, in due course, the Royal Hounds got wind of Aidan's story and recruited him into the Hell Hounds.
Personality: Aidan is a simple minded being, one who tends not to over-analyze complex problems and would rather shoot his way out of a tight situation than think it through. He is an honest man, one who has never been able to tell a lie to save his life. He could also be considered a little forward with his words, and he isn't afraid to voice his opinion, nor is he reluctant to speak the truth, though he may come off as being blunt because of this trait. In addition, Aidan sees everything thing in black and white, as good or evil, and has a strong sense of right and wrong. He would fight to the death for his personal beliefs, which include protecting the weak and innocent from evil, and refuses to respect those who would kill for power, money or just for kicks. And to his enemies, he is a ruthless and determined opponent.
But Aidan is far from perfect. He's got a fierce temper and can be prone to violence, hence his codename. Before being thrown in prison, he was a certified alcholic and had a serious smoking problem, but time behind bars have somewhat rehabilitated him. He once was a diehard loyal follower of Her Majesty and the United Kingdom, but his stay in prison have changed that. He's slow to trust anyone after no one was willing to accept his account on his last mission and has become slightly unhinged after being told he's insane and left alone with his thoughts in prison. Finally, he lacks any real respect for authority now, with the exception of those who have earned it.
Skills: By no means a super soldier and extreme athlete, Aidan's been trained by and has worked with the best the British Army has to offer and has learned a vast assortment of skills ranging from surviving alone in the wild to how to arm or disarm military grade explosives. These same skills that he has been trained to learn have only been honed during his time in Iraq and Afghanistan. And while overseas and on the job, he's even managed picked a few things himself, such as running from and surviving an encounter with a supernatural monster.
Gear/Weapons (no more than three weapons): Aidan's primary choice of weapon is the HK417A2, often carrying around a wide variety of weapon attachments to go along with it, as well as the basic tools to switch the rifle's barrels out and the barrels themselves. As his backup weapon, Aidan owns a SIG Sauer P229 loaded with a 12-round box magazine and .357 caliber ammunition. Finally, as a last resort option, Aidan keeps a Swiss Army knife readily available.
