Question for you, my good GM and co-GM: would it even be possible for Faira to travel through the house's shadows, or would it stop her somehow?

Seeing as there's little option to escape, I'd say so. However, keep in mind that the house is sentient. Meaning that although we'll be escaping, the shadows could deposit us in someplace much worse.
