Valkyria Chronicles: Lions of the South
The year is 1935 EC and the two greatest nations of our time are locked in an epic battle for supremacy over all Europa. Between the Autocratic East Europan Imperial Alliance, known as the Empire, and the Atlantic Federation in the west, the continent is divided by war. Caught between these mighty superpowers are a handful of independent states and kingdoms, some supporting one or both sides, others remaining defiantly neutral. On the north Europan coast lies the Principality of Gallia, a small but economically powerful post-industrial nation with a deep-seated sense of national pride. A system of universal military training ensures that every citizen leaves school a trained soldier, ready to be called up in times of war as the Gallian Militia. The Gallian people are tough, industrious and fiercely independent, but the nation is not without its problems. Government corruption, ineptitude in the military and near-universal ostracisation of its significant Darcsen population have left Gallia's foundations vulnerable, her defences weak. It is only a matter of time until one of the two great superpowers moves to secure Gallia's abundant natural resources.
As the war threatens to spill over into Gallia, a handful of souls meet by chance in a town on the southern border, unaware that events will soon unfold that will alter their destiny and that of Europa forever...

Welcome to Valkyria Chronicles: Lions of the South, a High-Casual RP set during the time of the first Valkyria Chronicles game. The storyline will run parallel to that of the canon plot, sometimes overlapping during major events. The characters start out as civilians when the first wave of Imperial attacks force them to fight back, eventually leading them to be conscripted or to voluntarily join the Gallian Militia. Some will not live to see the war's end, others will lose their will to fight... but a precious few will persevere and achieve victory against impossible odds, gaining fame and recognition as the finest soldiers Gallia has to offer. The 9th Militia Regiment, 12th Company... Lions of the South.
Rules
Oh how I love writing rules...
- While debate is always encouraged, GM's word is final. I won't be using this unless I absolutely have to.
- It goes without saying, but no godmodding or controlling other people's characters without their express permission. Common courtesy boys and girls.
- Romance is encouraged, just keep it PG-13.
- If you are going to be away for more than three days, tell us and we can work around it IC. Similarly, if you want to withdraw TELL US, don't just leave.
- This is a High-Casual RP, but I'm not expecting walls. Two to three paragraphs is a good average; if you can post more, great. If not, don't worry. So long as the content, spelling and grammar of your posts are up to scratch, I won't complain.
- The Lancer and Sniper classes will be restricted so that there is at most two of each in the squad at any one time. This rule may be rescinded if we gain enough players to justify it.
- Last but not least, enjoy yourselves. And tell me your favourite Squad 7 member in your CS as confirmation that you read this shyte.
