Once home, Anthony takes a quick shower, shaves, and gets dressed. By the time he got back to the Academy, he had nearly twenty minutes to get to Sue's dorm. Knowing that it takes him ten minutes when walking at his normal pace, he walks much slower than usual. After fifteen minutes, he arrives at Sue's door two minutes early. He gathers his wits, and then knocks on the door.
Sue panicked. She did not want to be seen like this, and now with a press for time she was really in for it. Most people feared public humiliation more than death, and Sue was no exception. Though she was a fun and loving person that did not mind a little selflessness and loss of shame, she did not want to be like that in a
date.Her headphones were on when she was cleaning her room, and in a rush of carelessness, she hit play on her headphones.
‘O Sole Mio – Luciano Pavarotti ”Oh shit oh shit oh shit,” she thought.
She fished out what seemed wearable and smelt the least – deodorant to save the day, honestly.
She saw a checkered long-sleeved top, a sweater with black and grey diamonds. She decided to wear them with dark jeans and her bright red sneakers.
She checked herself in the mirror and opted against putting on any makeup, closing back her drawer of brushes and colours, when one of her many ties caught her eye. She put it on.
She was nervous. She bounced on the balls of her feet and rolled on her heels before opening the door.
She greeted Anthony with Pavarotti blasting into his face. She didn’t seem to notice since it was so natural for her, but she pressed pause immediately to save face.
