Ben follows the corrupt officer from the crime scene to the jail where the burglar is dropped off. Ben patiently waits outside, out of sight, knowing that the cop will be be out soon to meet up with his partner in crime to divide up the loot. As the officer walks to his car, Ben walks behind him, sticking to the shadows, then silently climbs onto the roof of the squad car. While they drive away, Ben causes his suit to mimic the color of the car, rendering himself invisible.
After a few minutes of traveling, the cop pulls into an alleyway and steps out of his car while he calls his accomplice. He tells his partner where to go and to bring the electronics with him. Once the police officer hangs up, Ben stands behind him, becoming visible one more as he remarks, "I saw what you did back there. Killing burglars so you can have the loot, then telling the living suspect to agree to your story. Not very honorable, don't you agree?" While Ben was talking, he notices the man slowly reaching for his gun. "I need to make sure he'd actually be willing to shoot me before I act ." Suddenly, the cop draws his gun, aims at Ben's face, and shoots. In a minuscule fraction of a second, Ben rolls forward, hearing the subtle whoosh of air from the bullet as it travels over him. At the end of his roll, Ben jumps up, curling into a ball and flipping in the air. In midair, he grabs the officer's wrist, forcing it down, then unfolds himself, his legs straightening rapidly, causing his feet to slam into the bottom of the man's jaw, knocking him unconscious. Ben opens the rear door of the squad car and shoves the sleeping cop into the backseat before searching for a pen and some paper. Once he had secured the writing materials, Ben tosses them beside the man before stripping him of his radio, phone, baton, mace, handcuffs, taser, and gun. Ben slams the door shut, locks it, then tosses the man's effects onto a nearby roof.
Ben is only forced to wait fifteen minutes or so before a familiar car pulls into the alley behind the cop car. Ben doesn't move from his seat on the wall that made one side of the alley, and watches with an amused smile hidden behind his mask. The policeman's partner casually walks to the squad car before he see's the now alert policeman in the backseat. As soon as the second man tries to open the door for the cop, Ben leaps down and slams the man's head into the side of the car, knocking him out. Ben searches the man for weapons before fetching the handcuffs from the roof and securing the man to a sturdy metal pipe.
Ben orders both men to write confessions to their crimes and, under the threat of being shot, they quickly comply. Ben searches the squad car for another pair of handcuffs, and once he finds them, he handcuffs the men to each other and deposits them in the middle of the alley. He says to the somberly, "You had a chance to do good in the world. At least one of you received the training to do so, yet you decided to use your power to steal and kill. For that, you must be die." Ben then promptly shoots the two men through the heads with one bullet. Ben extends his talons and knowing from experience that they could pierce metal, digs them over the asphalt for a few minutes. He turns on both of the cars' headlights, then arranges all of the stolen goods in a circle around the two bodies that were in a sitting position, back to back. Ben uses his talons to carve a "T" into each of their foreheads, just below the bullet holes. He draws both of his swords simultaneously and impales the two bodies, causing blood to flow onto the ground. As Ben places the confession letters under the feet of the men, the blood travels along the lines in the ground that Ben had gouged, forming the same symbol that was on his chest, illuminated by the headlights of the cars.
Ben turns on the sirens of the cop's car, then quickly climbs the roof of the building and, knowing Griffin would follow, flees through the night.
