Story So Far...

Background

The term superhuman had taken on a different meaning in the world during World War II. In order to combat the Nazi threat, the United States and the Allied Powers started Project Rebirth in order to create an army of super soldiers. The initiative only produced one success, however, and Captain America was deployed into the field to fight back the armies of evil. But it seemed fate was on the Allies sides, as vigilantes and superhumans emerged from the shadows to join him, creating the Invaders. The Allies’ superpowered force beat back evil until the day they lost their leader. Captain America fell in the process of stopping a last ditch effort by the Nazi deep science division HYDRA, signaling the end of superhuman involvement in the war. The remnants of the Invaders returned home and formed the Justice Society of America, fighting crime and injustice in the homeland before fading away.

But as time went on it was clear that superpowers were here to stay. The mutant population began to skyrocket across the world, gifting a segment of the populace with extraordinary powers. This new subspecies of the human race was looked at with both fear and awe from the normal humans of the day. Some saw them as the next step in our genetic destiny, and others considered mutants a threat to all mankind.

Yet still other powers came from the stars above. Unbeknownst to the populace, the planet had been visited by aliens of immense power. Some were good and some were evil, but they would all leave their mark on the planet in the end.

In America, the UN, who feared what superhumans might mean to world peace, formed SHIELD, a peacekeeping organization dedicated to monitoring and neutralizing superhuman threats.

All of this set up the great Heroic Age of the 21st Century.

Year One

The Heroic Age started off with a bang, as Superman and Batman debut on the same day, the former saving a crashing plane and the latter apprehending one of Gotham City’s most notorious criminals in one night. The weeks and months that follow saw a dramatic rise in superhero and vigilante activity as others looked to follow in their footsteps. Wonder Woman, Thor, and Aquaman appeared on the American coast and fought back a sea beast seemingly from legend. The Daredevil of Hell’s Kitchen, Power Man, and Iron Fist began fighting back against the Kingpin of New York. The scarlet speedster Flash zoomed around Central and Keystone City. Iron Man patrolled the skies of the world, rooting out the terrorist organization known as the Ten Rings. The young Spider-man became entangled in the web of the New York mob boss known as the Big Man. The X-Men revealed themselves to the world, fighting threats against the mutant and human populations of the world.

The year went smoothly with the heroes of the world making the planet safer and more secure. That changes, however, when Superman accidentally released his native people from an inter-dimensional prison. The Kryptonian leader Zod, also revealed to be Superman’s father, attempted to conquer the Earth, and released his Kryptonian army on the masses. The great threat was only beat back by a gathering of heroes as well as the timely intervention of the Lantern Corps. Eventually Zod and his people were sealed back inside their cell, but the victory came at a cost.

The governments of the world now saw what could happen if these heroes turned against them. The devastation of the Kryptonian Invasion led to the creation of HAMMER, a counterpart to SHIELD meant to have a proactive approach to the metahuman age. HAMMER would neutralize and detain anyone seen as a threat no matter if they were human, mutant, or superpowered.

Year Two

Where Year One began with triumph, Year Two began with tragedy. At the strike of New Years Eve 2013, the Earth saw the birth of the super villain when Electro attacked the annual Times Square celebration, stopped only by the timely intervention of Spider-man. At the same time, bomb strikes accompanied fireworks in Gotham, as the maniacal Joker held the city in terror, demanding that the Batman face him.

This trend continued as the months rolled by. Superman tangled with the Parasite, Toyman, and Metallo. Tony Stark saw his technology stolen by an unknown enemy and used against him. Thor was forced to battle the minions of his brother Loki, and Aquaman clashed with the forces of his own corrupt family. The Flash’s twin cities are turned into a veritable city-sized trap by a group of villains calling themselves The Rogues. Every hero now seemed to have villains appearing to challenge them weekly, and many in the media wondered.

A turning point was reached when the mutant terrorist known as Magneto killed Senator Robert Kelly, a known anti-mutant legislator. This set off a HAMMER witch hunt, forcing many heroes and mutants underground. The discovery of Captain America frozen in Arctic ice allows SHIELD a weapon in the covert wars against HAMMER. Cap is tasked with stabilizing superpowered relations by rooting out HAMMER's nefarious goals and neutralizing covert threats. To help in doing so, he is granted his own team dubbed The Avengers, and consisting of SHIELD's top field agents.

The Super Powered Cold War lasted until the conflict between Latveria and Khandaq exploded on the other side of the world. Victor von Doom, sovereign of Latveria, desired an artifact from Teth Adam’s treasury, and was ready to start a war to get it. Large scale conflict was avoided only by the intervention of the newly formed Justice League and the Avengers. A coalition of the world’s most powerful heroes, the League neutralized both sides while the Avengers sabotaged Doom's fleet of robotic warriors, forcing a peace before the conflict grew.

The actions of the two hero teams started a resurgence in the public’s faith of the superheroes, yet many remained skeptical of the good superpowers would bring.
And in the shadows, a looming threat began to grow. Whispers of a Legion began reaching heroes’ ears, setting some on edge.

This is the world of the One Universe. Will you save it? Or will you try to dominate it?

-All characters can interact with each other, it is the same universe.

-No Killing. Unnamed, faceless NPC's may be killed, but not major characters, or taken characters. Someone else may want to take up the character, or they may be important to another story.

- You can go anywhere within the galaxy except planets already known to be destroyed, such as Krypton, although if you have the ability you may visit the ruins or asteroids.

-You are your character, so act like it. Talk like them, use their dialogue. Do not exaggerate your powers, or pop-up here and there without explanation. BE Your character.

-Several stories can be going at once, and you have the freedom to interact with other characters. If a PC doesn't wish to participate in a major event storyline, they don't have to.

-You must post at least once every two weeks, though it is preferred that you post more. If you go two weeks without a post, your character is up for grabs. You will receive no warnings as it is your responsibility to keep track of your character.

-Be serious, no slander, or impractical actions from your character. Example; "I found a crystal and now I own the world! You're all my slaves!"

-Be creative, and do not be afraid to try new and exciting things with old concepts. This is a new continuity - the laws of the regular DC and Marvel Universes are not set in stone. You want to have Matt Murdock never be Daredevil and make the Man Without Fear a Green Lantern? As long as it's well-thought out, it's encouraged.

-And of course, all regular rules of the Guild apply.

Background and Story So Far:

Young Life
Peter was born to Richard and Mary Parker in New York in 1994, while both of his parents were working for the mega corporation Oscorp, run by the enigmatic Norman Osborn. Richard was a wizard in the field of genetics and Mary was one of the company’s top engineers. They were successful, smart, and well off thanks to Oscorp’s continued support of them. They loved Peter with all their hearts, and from the outside they seemed to be the model of the American family.

That was all shattered, however, when the Parker’s plane went down on a business trip to Metropolis. The crash was considered highly suspect by the authorities, but now foul play was ever discovered. But the bigger tragedy was the fact that they had now left their young son Peter alone in the world.

Luckily, Richard’s younger brother Ben and his new wife May were there to take care of Peter. The two adopted the boy and raised them as their own. He lived in Queens with them, and attended the Midtown School district where he met his first and oldest friend, Gwen Stacy. Gwen and Peter were inseperable from the day they met, and everyone always pegged them as future sweethearts, even if neither had the courage to act on their feelings. The tragedy of losing his parents always stung Peter, but at least he now had a new family to call his own.

But the shadows of the past were never far away. Ben, May, and Peter were often visited by Norman Osborn, who claimed he wanted nothing more than what was best for Peter and to do his best to make up for the loss of his parents. Peter never liked Norman, but he connected with the tycoon’s son Harry. The two remained friends even when Harry was shipped to boarding school for a few years.

Year One: Becoming Spider-man
By the time high school came around, Peter had proven himself to be a scientific whiz in the mold of his parents, but also shy and awkward socially. Aside from Gwen and Harry, Peter had no friends, and tended to be picked on by the jocks, especially Eugene “Flash’ Thompson, who considered Peter his favorite target.

Pete’s life was changed forever during a field trip to Oscorp in his sophomore year of high school. Following Harry into a restricted section of the facility, Peter was bitten by a genetically enhanced, radioactive spider that had managed to free itself from its enclosure. Peter hid the bite from Harry and his friends, and went straight home after the trip. After a night of nightmares and fever, Peter woke to find himself with incredible powers. He was strong, fast, coordinated and dexterous. Later that day he discovered he could climb walls, and sense when danger was around. He had become a superhero over night, and the possibilities thrilled him.

He used his new found abilities to get back at Flash, as well as entering a wrestling contest in order to make some money to impress a popular girl at school, Liz Allen. His new, cocky attitude rubbed his Aunt and Uncle the wrong way, but Peter didn’t care. He was on top of the world. He blew off his uncle as Ben was attempting to give Peter advice, leading to yet another tragedy for the young man.

Ben, attempting to clear his head, went out for a drive, as he was known to do. Unfortunately, he was car jacked, with the mugger shooting him through the stomach, killing him. That night, Peter went out into the city, searching for the murderer. His search led him to a carjacker in the employ of the “Big Man’s” crime family, one of the most powerful mobs in New York.

The weeks that followed, Peter wallowed in he and Aunt May’s grief. Peter blamed himself for his surrogate father’s death, and searched for a way to make it right. Eventually, he remembered his Uncle’s favorite saying, “With great power comes great responsibility.” He had great power, and he would now put upon himself great responsibility. Crafting a homemade costume and developing his webshooters, Peter became the Spectacular Spider-man and set about taking down the Big Man’s operation in order to not only avenge Uncle Ben’s death, but to help New York as well.

The fight against the Big Man was long and grueling, with Spider-man having to take down not only the crime boss, but the hired muscle he sent against the young hero. The Enforcers, the mob boss’s favorite assassins, clashed with Spider-man constantly over the first year, until he was finally able to put them away with the help of Captain George Stacy, Gwen’s father and police captain.

His battles as Spider-man also took a toll on his personal life. Harry and Gwen thought Peter was ignoring them and had no idea what he did with his nights. His school grades were slipping, and Aunt May worried he was in serious trouble. They all tried to intervene in his life, but Peter wouldn’t hear any of it. He tried to be the best nephew and friend he could, but he thought his mission was the most important thing.

With his guards and assassins put away, the Big Man was vulnerable, and Spider-man and the police closed in. He was revealed to be L Thompson Lincoln, a seemingly legit business man, but in reality was the notorious Gotham gangster Tombstone who had relocated to New York. The mobster’s great strength was a test for Spider-man, but at the end of Year One, he prevailed and put him behind bar, shattering his criminal empire. With Tombstone behind bars, and Spider-man a city hero, Peter finally found his great responsibility. New York was his to protect.

Year Two: Rise of the Rogues
Year Two, however, was not going to be easy for the wallcrawler. The year kicked off with the emergence of Electro at the Times Square New Year’s Celebration. The man made of living electricity was the most powerful foe Spider-man had faced yet, and Peter found himself outmatched. Their cat and mouse game lasted weeks before Peter was able to determine the villain had been created in an accident at Oscorp. Spider-man broke into the labs to find something to stop Electro. The two squared off one last time, with Spider-man managing to short circuit Electro using a special solution from Oscorp. As Max Dillon was being carted away, the villain claimed that Oscorp was out for Spider-man.

During this time, Peter began to balance his time as Spider-man and Peter Parker, and he and Gwen finally admitted they have feelings for one another and began dating. This was also coupled by increasingly erratic and aloof behavior from Harry. The two attempted to keep their relationship with Harry intact, but Peter and Gwen’s relationship seemed to have put Harry over the edge. They went to Norman for help, but he seemed to have no concern for his son. On top of this, Peter got a freelance photography job at the Daily Bugle.

Peter had little time to worry as well, as two villains emerged to threaten him and the city. Rumors of a bat man began sweeping through the city, leading some to wonder if a copycat vigilante had entered New York. To go along with that, Mac Gargan, a former private investigator, was turned into the Scorpion by J Jonah Jameson, Peter’s boss who was obsessed with finding the identity of Spider-man. Gargan came close to finding out Peter’s identity, but Spider-man managed to stop him before that.

The Man-Bat was another story. His presence brought the attention of the real Batman and his sidekick Robin. The two teamed with Spider-man, much to the Batman’s chagrin, to track down the dangerous creature threatening the city. The three eventually cornered the Man-Bat and managed to subdue the creature, which was revealed to be a failed experiment by Oscorp. Batman and Robin left New York, but not before the Bat warned Spider-man that someone was reforming Tombstone’s crime family, and that he should go to Daredevil for training.

Spider-man took his advice, and sought out the older hero who trained him in the martial arts. The two also began tracking down leads on the resurgent crime family, and the trail led them into the path of the Hobgoblin. The new super villain seemed to know Peter’s every move and could even circumnavigate Peter’s Spider Sense, taking away the hero’s advantage.

Hobgoblin declared war against the city, saying it was his now. Spider-man had to face off against his thugs, led by the Scorpion who had been freed by Hobgoblin. The battles were grueling, but nothing compared to the final confrontation with the villain. He captured Gwen, making it clear to Peter that his identity had been compromised. The two faced off on Oscorp tower, where Peter saved Gwen and the Hobgoblin was mortally wounded by his own weapons. In his dying moments, the Goblin was revealed to be Harry himself. In a moment of clarity, Harry claimed his father turned him into the Goblin, and that Norman wanted Peter’s power for himself.

Peter now knew his great enemy, but lost one of his best friends in the process.

He now stands against the might of Oscorp with his future and very life at stake.

Sample Post (At least 3 well thought out paragraphs as well as some dialogue):

The wind rushes through my mask as I swing through the skies of New York. After all this time, web swinging never fails to cheer me up. It may sound corny, but there’s just something magical about swinging over the streets and rooftops of New York. Even at a time like this where my best friend is dead after trying to turn the city into his own den of crime and his father has declared open war against me. Such is the life of your friendly, neighborhood Spider-man.

I sling another web and use my momentum to turn a hard right, swooping down a few stories as I do so. I know this city like the back of my hand at this point. The fastest and best ways to get around the city are second nature to me. I know every nook and cranny, like this is my concrete English muffin. The city is my playground, and everyone else is just living in it.

At that moment, sirens draw my attention. I follow them to their source, where a man in what appears to be a quilt is standing outside of a bank, “Stand back! All of you!”

With that, he throws a punch through the air. At first I just figure he’s crazy, but then a shockwave bursts forward, slamming the cops and their cars backwards, end over end.

“Oh, well, that’s fun,” I say under my breath before swinging over to the wall above the apparent bank robber. Once there, I call out, “Nice costume, guy! Your mom make it for you?”

“Well, well, well,” the masked man chuckles, “Spider-man. Just the person I was looking for.”

He spins around, slamming the wall with another round of concussive blasts. I kick off the wall, landing in front of the cops who were regaining their feet, “Let me guess…you’re Rumble? Oh! No! You’re Shockwave!”

“Guess again, web-head!” he snarls. “I’m the Shocker!”

“Ha!” I laugh. “Dude come on! You can’t be serious! You do know about the…well you know. Unless you don’t.”

He doesn’t answer, and instead blasts at me again with his gauntlets.

Background and Story So Far:

Youth
The alien child known on Earth as Superman was the last surviving member of the Kryptonian Empire after the Lantern Corps and their allies destroyed the planet of Krypton. His journey through the stars lasted almost a thousand years in suspended animation before he crash landed outside Smallville, Kansas. There, he was found and raised by Jonathan and Martha Kent. Clark, as they named him, was raised as a child with a strong sense of right and wrong, but struggled at the onset of his powers. His parents helped him through the difficult time, and Clark eventually mastered his abilities.

Clark attended school in Smallville and quickly made a best friend in Lana Lang. Clark and Lana were inseparable throughout their youth, and in high school the two began dating. They were sweethearts and the model teen couple until the night of a car crash that involved them and another group of kids from Smallville High. It is unknown what happened, but after that fateful night Clark and Lana never spoke again.

Becoming Superman
After high school Clark went on to study journalism at Metropolis University. Here in the huge, glittering city, Clark first saw the need for a hero on Earth. Metropolis was a safe city by most standards, but Kent was forced to intervene in a mugging he witnessed, easily saving a middle aged woman and her daughter. They thanked him profusely, but were amazed at his great strength. This made Clark realize his identity was suspect when using his powers. He crafted a much more confident and cocky look for himself, as well as a costume from the blanket that had arrived with him on Earth. He was now Superman, the Man of Steel and protector of Metropolis.

He soon became an international sensation. Blurry pictures began showing up on blogs and newscasts around the world. Clark began showing up and stopping problems across the globe but was careful not to cause any international incidents. As his fame grew, Clark graduated from college at got a position at the Daily Planet, the news outlet that first covered him. It was here he met Lois Lane, falling for the spunky and determined reporter almost immediately.

Year One: Fighting Against the Intergang and the Kryptonian Invasion
Clark and Jimmy Olsen were called out to cover a meteor that was headed towards Earth early in Year One. But Superman knew it would cause massive destruction if it hit the planet, so he moved to intercept it. What he found surprised him, as the meteor was actually a spaceship. He struggled against the UFO, though he eventually managed to crash it in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Metropolis. The deadly creature inside survived and made its way towards the city.

Before he clashed with the alien visitor, however, Superman’s presence was not a welcomed event to some in Metropolis. For decades Bruno Mannheim’s Intergang had ruled the city’s crime scene, and they saw the arrival of Superman as the ultimate threat to said dominance. For that time they had run technology and weapons in and out of the city as well as abroad. Mannheim was the boss, and everyone in the city knew it. But Bruno knew they didn’t stand a chance against the Man of Tomorrow.

That is until they began fighting back with technology more advanced than anyone had ever seen. The Bruno and his gang declared war on Superman, and threatened the entire city around them. They cared not for the repercussions; they just wanted to take care of the one threat to their power and money.

Their battle lasted half the year, until Bruno Mannheim took matters into his own hands, using the mysterious technology to grow to the size of a sky scraper and fight Superman himself. The Man of Steel drew the villain out of the city before beating him and destroying the device that had caused him to grow. He saved it in order to analyze it, but no one has been able to decipher where it came from.

The battle between the Intergang and Superman also made Lex Luthor certain Superman was a bane to humanity existence, not a boon. Luthor then began plotting how to expose the alien’s threat and to stop him at any cost.

The Parasite then made its way to Metropolis after murdering countless humans along the way, and called a challenge to Superman, calling him a Kryptonian murder. Clark of course answered the call, engaging the alien parasite at a gala hosted by Lex Luthor, the second most powerful man in Metropolis. The Parasite proved to be a powerful enemy to Clark and was only defeated thanks to the intervention of Phil Coulson and S.W.O.R.D., a subset of S.H.I.E.L.D. dedicated to protecting the world form extraterrestrial threats. Coulson told Superman that he would be allowed to continue his work free from SHIELD interference as long as Clark agreed to help when necessary. Coulson also gave Clark the information of Reed Richards, a scientist that could help the alien find where he came from.

Clark and Reed discovered a plan for an inter-dimensional portal generator in the pod that brought Superman to Earth. The two, along with SHIELD scientists, built it and a prototype rocket which would carry Reed and his team into space to fire the generator. On the day of the mission, the rocket and device worked perfectly, and a portal to the Phantom Zone was opened. From inside, a Kryptonian war vessel emerged, and Superman was taken on board.

Inside, Clark met his father, Emperor Dru-Zod, and the remaining Kryptonians. Clark found out he was sent to Earth because it would be an easy conquest for the Kryptonians to replenish their slave workforce and build a new army. When Clark resisted, he was thrown into the ship's brig where he met J'onn J'onzz, a mysterious prisoner who offered Clark help in escaping.

They headed back to Earth and rallied the planet’s heroes in order to set up the planet’s resistance. They stood their ground against Zod, but it was the timely intervention of the Lantern Corps that ended up saving the day. In the end, the Kryptonians were repelled and once again trapped in the Phantom Zone.

Year Two: Luthor’s Tests and Global Threats

In Year Two, Clark found himself pitted against the villain known as Toyman. The genius inventor and ex-LexCorp employee had gone mad after losing his job, and used his robotic creations to threaten Metropolis and Lex Luthor himself. Superman intervened and stopped the Toyman before he could do any real damage. In reality, the villain was nothing more than a test for Superman set up by Luthor. During the fight, Lex got an up close view on how Superman fought and began devising strategies to defeat him.

Another test came from Luthor before he could talk to Richards, however. A string of bank robberies perpetrated by a being of immeasurable strength caught the attention of Superman. Tracking the perp down, Clark was amazed to find the robber was a cyborg powered by an unknown mineral. The green growing rock in Metallo’s chest sapped Superman’s strength and durability. The cyborg came close to defeating the Man of Steel, who was saved only by the timely intervention by the SHIELD team known as the Avengers. It was there that the great Captain America and Superman first met, forming a fast friendship and pledging to come to one another’s aid if need be.

The year’s third and final test from Luthor came when the Parasite returned to Metropolis. Feeding off the city’s power grid and Luthor’s own prototype generator, the alien was more powerful than he had ever been before. The ensuing fight caused plenty of collateral damage, and Luthor used it and the prevailing view on metahumans to turn the city against Superman.

Superman laid low for a while until the Latveria/Kahndaq conflict. The skirmish threatened to become a global threat, with both leaders not backing down. Victor von Doom and Teth Adam were pig headed and incredibly powerful and an extended conflict could threaten millions. Superman knew he had to act, but he could not do so alone. He gathered heroes of the world, creating a Justice League. The League, partnering with the Avengers, stopped the battle, creating peace between the two sides yet again. The League decided from then on they would be a symbol of hope for the world, and attempt to keep the world safe from all threats.

Sample Post (At least 3 well thought out paragraphs as well as some dialogue):

"Luthor," Superman snarled as he landed in the billionaire's office. Clark had clashed with Lex Luthor all year, though he had only learned that fact recently. Luthor had been behind Metallo, Toyman, and the release of the Parasite. All of it was just a test for Clark. Luthor wanted to see what the hero could do, and how he did it. "You wanted me. So here I am. You put the people of this city in danger just to test me. People died, Lex. And now I'm here to put you behind bars."

Luthor laughed at the superhero's challenge and stood, striding over to his liquor cabinet. Luthor was an impressive human being. He was tall, powerfully built, and one of the smartest men on the planet to boot. He poured a glass of scotch before turning back to the Man of Steel, "Superman, you have nothing against me. You and I both know that. If you lay a hand on me you'll just turn the people against you and your freaky friends yet again."

Superman's lip curled at the villain's mockery. He knew it was the case. Luthor was too good at covering his tracks, and Superman attacking the first son of Metropolis would lead to more trouble than he could deal with t this point, "That may be the case, but I hope you know I'm on to you. You won't be able to sneeze without me knowing. And eventually you're going to slip up. When that happens, I'll be there to put you away."

"For your sake, you better hope that happens, alien," Luthor spat back. "Because I plan on attending your funeral in a year."

Another would be holder of the Spider-Cowl. For someone that gets so much interest, Petey sure seems to not last very long.

Should be up to date now, unless Sloth wants me to edit it up if he's returning as our Sub-mariner.

Consider it one app or two, take your pick:

Character Name(s): Alec Holland and Ted Sallis (Swamp Thing and the Man-Thing)

Alignment (Hero, Villain, Walking the Line): Walking the line, I guess. Although Swamp Thing has heroic tendencies.

Affiliation (Justice League, HAMMER, X-Men, etc): "Other".

Character Speech Color and Font, when the BBCode gets some depth to it (actually say what it is, like Blue Comic Sans):
Swamp Thing – Dark Green, Georgia, Bold
Man-Thing seldom speaks, but will follow Ted Sallis’ - Green, Microsoft Sans Serif, Italics

Powers and Abilities:
Once Swamp Thing and Man-Thing have both been chemically/mystically altered by the swamp they develop numerous fantastic abilities.

Swamp Thing – As a consciousness without a real traditional body, Swamp Thing has the ability to inhabit and animate vegetation of any kind, including the ability to manipulate said vegetation to construct himself a body. This ability means he has remarkable powers of regeneration and can even “teleport” himself through the non-traditional means of allowing his body to fall and transferring his consciousness to vegetable matter located where he wants to go. His powers abilities result in him being virtually boundlessly strong provided he can manipulate enough vegetation to bolster whatever he needs to lift/support.

Man-Thing – As the body without the consciousness, Ted Sallis’ body was hi-jacked by the swamp to become the Guardian of the Nexus of All Realities. The Man-Thing is an empath, which causes him to react oddly to and pick up on various emotions. He is particularly responsive to fear, which enrages the creature and results in the excretion of a corrosive substance. As a result of the Super Soldier Serum that Sallis took just prior to his death, the Man-Thing has strength above that of peak human, but will continue to grow in strength as the power of the Man-Thing will be with him. As the swamp has manipulated his body, Man-Thing is virtually invulnerable to regular conventional harm since his body is not completely solid. Whilst Man-Thing doesn’t possess the full power of a Plant Elemental like his associate Swamp Thing, due to their sharing duties, Man Thing can still regenerate his body... but he requires the equivalent amount of vegetation to be directly available for him to do so.
Due to the spongy nature of his body, he is able to ooze through small spaces or around barriers. In his role as the Guardian of the Nexus of All Realities he can also teleport in a more traditional capacity than the Swamp Thing.

Character Origin/Backstory:
Alec Holland was a scientist, working for Lexcorp at an undisclosed location in the Louisiana bayou on a secret bio-restorative formula that could convert the most sterile and arid conditions, turning them into lush forest greenery. Theodore Sallis is another scientist, also somewhat under Luthor’s control – albeit more limited. Sallis has long been working on uncovering and re-creating Dr Erskine’s Super Soldier Serum.

Sallis, one of the most brilliant scientists in the world in his fields and named by American Scientist as “one of the 5 most brilliant minds in the world today” alongside of other esteemed names Reed Richards and Henry Pym, found himself called to the swamp on request by Alec Holland. Holland, who has long hero-worshipped Sallis as one of the fore-most authorities on bio-chemistry justified his request to Luthor as his help being of immeasurable aid due to the work being in his field of expertise. As such, Sallis was pulled to the bayou to complete his work and to lend assistance and advise Holland.

Their origin is going to be my first arc and I'd like to take the time to flesh it out properly in full.

What Makes This Version "Ultimate":

I’m attaching both characters to the same story, I think it will work well. I’m boosting Ted Sallis intelligence to heighten the tragedy of the events that followed. I’m merging mystical and power elements of the two universes. Supposed to be one power destined to both be the Guardian of the Nexus of All Realities and protective agent of the Green – founder of the building blocks of life. The two roles will be split between the pair.

Character Notes (Anything you would like to expand on [Established Rogues, NPCs, etc]):
The existence of A.I.M (Advanced Ideas Mechanics) as a cult-like group of scientists whose ethics regard scientific progress as being above all things. Including liberty and the notion of ownership over ideas.

What can you bring to the RPG:
Freaky swamp beasts! What else is needed in life?

Provide a short sample post as your desired character:

Climbing from the murky mire, Alec Holland looks back at the laboratory. They stand ablaze and his memory returns to him.

The fire. The flames. His body inflamed.

He drops to the ground, the laboratory and his notes. A decade of work... lost.

He feels sludge drip down his head and over his eye, Holland raises an arm to his face to wipe it away and is stunned to find his arm has become an overgrown mess or reeds, moss and fern.

“... Noooooo...” his voice creaked as if the words were echoing out from an old hollowed-out oak trunk.

He saw A.I.M. scientists flee from the burning wreck and knew that these men had taken too much. They had come for knowledge and science that was not theirs to take and had robbed Holland of even more.

And Ted. What had become of Ted?

I did have this idea of the Sentry being a Kryptonian Clone modified as part of a modern day Doomsday Project to try and replicate a being that could protect the world from Superman and his kind should they return to conquer. He will/has became a good guy and treated like a true kryptonian by Superman's standards.

Unless we can't heavily change backstories to such a degree.

Then...

I'll begin work on a Beast Boy at some point. Is anyone planning on B'wana Beast, Animal Man, or Kraven?

On a less random note, I'm not sure where I'll stick him, either as an Xavier Student/Youngest member of the X-Men if we have one of those, Outcast (BB and Molly Hayes would just be too cute), Doom Patrol, or Teen Titan.

I did promise myself I'd implement the Savage Lands in some way though.

I'd be interested in what your plans for Kraven. I didn't have any immediate plans, but I'd just like to know how you'd use him.

I'm stealing him from Spider-Man's rogue's gallery, ah ahahahah. But more seriously, I was thinking of him as a joint adversary for the two of them, if possible.

Superman as General Zod's son.

I'm not quite sure how I should feel about that outside of the innumerable Darth Vader jokes I could make.
