| This is our OOC for the following Harry Potter pairs: Harry/Hermione and Draco/Luna.

| I will be playing Hermione and Draco and you'll be tackling Harry and Luna.

We've also established that we'd like to use Ron as a future antagonist to betray Harry and Hermione while possibly causing Draco to reconsider what he side he really should be on. We still need to decide what year to start in, I think based on our choices, different things will be added or taken away as we work or even skip ahead, depending on what feels right to us. I think starting anywhere from the fourth to the seventh book would work for me but I think the fourth or fifth may work better. I think we need to also figure out a way to get Luna and Draco together. An idea could be Luna spearheading some kind of newsletter for the school, Draco is put on it in lieu of detention or something? I know Draco begins to question his future during the fifth year so that is something to take into consideration. I won't be playing him necessarily but rather conflicted and misunderstood since I believe Harry's reaction to him really triggered some kind of bratty impulse and rivalry. But I don't see Luna as much of a target for his insults, yes she is weird and no one really like her but I think it wouldn't take that long for him to see some annoying similarities between the two of them, ones he would surely not want to admit to though. And for Harry and Hermione, we should do something about Ginny because her buzzing around is sure to be troublesome and not in a good way for conflict, like compared to Cho.

So...thoughts? Etc?

I think Fourth Year would work best, some time after the Triwizard Tournament is announced. Luna could be put in charge of the Newsletter for the school regarding news about the Triwizard Tournament, including reporting on the other school's arrivals. Originally, she was tasked on writing it herself, but say, Draco decides to be a bit cocky and attempt to put his name in the Goblet of Fire, and Severus stops him. As the Head of Slytherin house, he is not amused nor impressed by the Fourth Year's attempt to be a show off, and since he's only dragged him just out from the Great Hall to the Grand Staircase, the first person he spots is Luna who is writing her notes for the Newsletter. Snape of course takes no nonsense and to show he's impartial (And to remind his own Slytherin Students to not be so foolish to try and put their names in the Goblet), the Head of Slytherin calls Luna over and explains that Draco is to help with the newsletter. To put it bluntly "If you wanted to be so involved with the Triwizard Tournament...So be it."

Trying to think of what to do about Ginny. If I remember right, she has a relationship with someone later, and the only reason she breaks up with that someone is because Harry had drunk Felix Felicis (Liquid Luck) and along the way whilst he was still under the potion's influence, he manages to destabilise Ginny's relationship unintentionally. So we can just tweak it so that never happens and Ginny ends up happy with...That someone whose name I've still forgotten. That happens in the Sixth Year (So for Ginny, her Fifth Year), and I'm not sure about the Fifth Year. But in the Fourth Year (Ginny's Third Year), she goes to the Yule Ball with Neville and ends up with someone else I think. And if Ron's going to slowly turn into our antagonist, surely he won't suggest his sister as a potential date for Harry.

I do like the idea a lot and it's a good way to kick things off. I do imagine Hermione and Harry may be asked to contribute some things to the newsletter. I do imagine with Ron feeling left out in terms of his two friends practicing spells together, he may have the opportunity to slowly become more corrupt this year, which I assume a Death Eater may approach him. Yes, there is the plan to lure Harry alone at the end of everything but to cause strain with his friends might be another asset Voldemort could consider. At any rate, Ron's paranoia could turn him into a darker sort of person with this being the thing that sets off his decline into madness and soon acting as a Death Eater himself since Harry continues to endanger himself and those around him, like his sister and brothers possibly. I figure with Ginny we could have her in the background, probably sharing her a NPC if needed?

Sharing Ginny as an NPC sounds like a decent plan. I think also with your good ideas for Ron's slow decline into become a darker shadow of his former self, would mean that we would have to set a person to play as Ron, seeing as he's now going to be the antagonist and perhaps, maybe a bit more in the spotlight than other villains, since we'll probably end up focusing on events that lead to him becoming a more left out, paranoid person, and then eventually into events that cement his beliefs that Harry is a bit more reckless and being around him isn't secure for people like, say, his sister and his brother. He worries for Hermione too, at first, but a part of him is still able to connect the dots that Hermione is loyal to Harry, and that he can't do anything for her.

Man, thinking about it, Ron distancing himself and his eventual betrayal is going to hurt everyone. I mean obviously, it's going to hurt Harry and Hermione, but it will hurt other people too, even his family as Fred, George and Ginny are all friends with Harry and Hermione too. And when Luna mentions it in passing to Draco, he would be a bit confused as to Ron's actions, and by the Fifth Year, when Ron is acting as a Death Eater, that will be when he maybe starts to change views, though I'm not sure his views will have changed enough to make him become a member of Dumbledore's Army. That would be up to you.

If he isn't, then I imagine he wouldn't join Dumbledore's Army but as a member of Professor Umbridge's Inquisitorial Squad, he'd be surprised to see just how far they've gone. And if his views are changed, I think Luna would bring him to the first gathering before they sign the papers and stand up for him, claiming that they are being just as shallow as the Death Eaters, only with the Slytherins, rather than half-bloods.

Anyway, whenever we've decided who plays Ron, I am happy to start whenever~

I feel like Ron would try and make an attempt to reach out to Hermione to "save her" in his mind but I think after she rebukes his claims and attempts, he would surely move on and decide she's too far gone to see how dangerous it is being so close to Harry since he continued to put so many in danger and now with the TT underway, he could feel as though Harry is just doing it on purpose for fun, and that he doesn't see Harry as a victim but maybe someone just taunting the idea of luck and how far he could go. Let's not forget Ron did miss out on the night's adventure when they saved Sirius and battled dementors by the lake. I assume they may have mentioned it to Ron later (or not) but it could only back up his own delusion that Harry is reckless and while a good person, is going down a dark park (ironically).

I figure Draco seeing Ron decline in mental stability would pique his interest greatly but it would get old after a while. And I assume if Draco continues to belittle Ron, Ron might actually stand up for himself and maybe in that confrontation/fight, Draco could see what he could become: a crazy misguided redhead. XD I will say Ron's reasons in his own mind make sense and that he considers his actions to be for the grater good. I think playing him as more complex would be a fun change. I am unsure if Draco would join the D.A but if he did, he would need to be welcomed in a way that doesn't kick up a lot of crap from the past. If he has a decent or strong enough friendship with Luna at that point, he could certainty join and begin to make up for the stuff he has done and in a way, Ron and Draco could switch places.

And Ron joining the Inquisitorial Squad would be a big change and surprise. I think if we reeled Ron back at some point (when he becomes a full fledged Death Eater) so his connection with Harry, Hermione (probably Luna and Draco by association if he's tasked to look into why Draco's pulling away from the Dark Lord) is repaired to serve him much like a double agent. We don't want Ron's credibility to be completely invalid so quickly, after all. But if Draco joined to keep an eye on Ron...oh. Upon re-reading, I wasn't sure which he was either Ron or Draco. Sorry.

I think Ron could still join the D.A but to just keep tabs on Harry and everything and pretend their friendship is back on track. Or Ron could join the I.S as well, as I mentioned, Draco on the other hand, would depend on how well he is with the general core cast and how much contemplation he's done in regards to his own future and safety. Maybe he trusts Harry more now? Same with Luna.

I figure I could play Ron, unless you ever wanted to use him during your posts for something...?

In terms of where/how to start...should we begin with the first meeting for the newsletter? Or sometime before that? And we know where Draco and Luna will be? Should I assume Harry and Hermione would be practicing or maybe with Luna? I know Hermione would want to help with the newsletter since it sounds right up her alley, even if she is busy helping Harry. But our roles don't have to be together all the time or even most of the time but I think it might be good to try and bring them closer at some point so when things start changing and happening, they may be stronger together.

I think at first, Harry won't be involved in the newsletter until he's been forced to participate during the Triwizard Tournament. I think Luna was given the task to write the newsletter due to her father whose job is writing and publishing The Quibbler, and even though she is a Third Year. This also will get her into the Yule Ball without a date, since she'll be reporting on all aspects of the tournament and the events. She is a year behind everyone else after all, and so like Ginny, she needed a date to get in, so this way, she's still able to get in without us breaking character and having someone asking her.

And just now, I am realising just how much resentment there is or could be. 1st Year? Harry defeats Quirrell / Voldemort, and Ron's achievement is just really skipped over. Sure, he risked his life to get Harry further, but when it came to giving out the points? Hermione got points for being intelligent, Harry got points for bravery and even Neville got a very points for having the courage to stand up for friends. But Ron? He got points for being good at Wizard Chess. Nothing about him risking his life. In Chamber of Secrets, his sister and everyone else always thanked Harry for saving them from the petrification and Tom Riddle, but not so much her brother. And of course, as you've so mentioned, there was Hermione and Harry pretty much running off and saving Buckbeak and Sirius by themselves, and then throughout the Triwizard Tournament, it will be mostly Hermione helping Harry learn spells for the Trials.

There is just so much leading up to him feeling left out that I feel almost a little silly for not noticing sooner.

Well for the starter, We could say Luna is about ready to leave the Great Hall when Draco does his show off thing and goes to put his name in the goblet, but Snape will intervene and grab him by the arm. Of course, he's dragged out the Hall and is being lectured, so whilst Snape is deciding on his punishment he spots Luna Lovegood leaving too. Severus remembers that she's the Ravenclaw who is in charge of writing the Newsletter and so he forces Draco to join her in writing the newsletter. Meanwhile, Hermione is waiting in the library, waiting for Luna to arrive, and I guess we can say that Harry is there with her, half out of intrigue about the Tournament since he doesn't know as much about the Wizarding World as others, and the other half is to do his homework, of which he has to be reminded to focus on by Hermione.

That does sound like a good place to start, I can crack open some old CDs and get started on the intro then, I'm sure it'll be fucking magical.

While on the topic of poor Ron...he is barely seen during year five and six, sure he has the Quidditch thing but in my mind Harry was always meant to be the star like his dad while I could never understand Ron's talents in that department. I know Hermione isn't much of a flyer herself but even with Ron's new found talent, there isn't a lot I recall hearing/seeing about him after the fourth year. Which is a bit sad because he seems to fade away and date other people which then causes some kind of rift and if he is around Harry and Hermione, I assumed he was trying to get his homework done. He likely needs to make a name for himself rather than 'side kick' or youngest brother, or the slacker who is sometimes clumsy and in his mind, he's not only getting stronger and asserting himself, he's helping his family. It is an interesting idea to play around with.

Oh dang, well, that "Weasley is our King" song is never going to go around because Draco comes up with those absolutely amazing lyrics. If by his Sixth Year and he's getting better with everything, there will be no song. And of course, if Ron goes down that path, I think that he won't become a Quidditch player anyway, because he'll be focused on strengthening his resolve, so that he'll be able to follow through on his new found plans. That being said, if Ron is to turn for the worst, I wonder if Draco will still be forced by Voldemort to take the Dark Mark after his father's failure and be instructed to kill Dumbledore? I only wonder because I highly doubt that Ron, even with his new change of heart, would draw the line at killing Dumbledore.

And I eagerly await your starter. I'm really looking forward to starting this roleplay, you have no idea~

Draco is secretly a creative spirit! And I do assume Draco's questioning of things with his father and the Dark Lord would make him less of a candidate and the death itself could fall on Ron's shoulders since he could be more valued than Ron, which would strike a nerve with Draco for sure, despite his own morals coming into question. I would love to see Ron go over that line of good v evil and actually take the shot but again, if Snape needed to do it, he still can. I just know/recall Snape doing it pretty much ensured Voldemort could kill Snape later on in the final battle at Hogwarts. :/

Oh me too, I need some HP grit and fluff~!

That's true, but the reasoning that Draco becomes chosen is as a punishment essentially, against his family. Because of Lucius failing to retrieve the prophecy from Harry and all that good stuff in the Department of Mysteries, the Dark Lord chooses him, and he has to do it or his family will die. Another reason that Snape ends up having to kill Dumbledore is not just because of the curse that was on the Horcrux Ring and the fact that the Headmaster asks him, he is also makes a bond with Narcissa to protect Draco and to fulfill his duty for him if her son can't do it.

That being said, I'm sure we can think of a way to switch it to Ron. Like perhaps they pick him, because he's willing and also has been much closer to Harry than Draco, which in turn means he's closer to Dumbledore. However, when it starts to get worse, and Ron is beginning to feel the stress and pain of being a Death Eater, I think he'll start to maybe realise that his decisions were in poor, bitter taste, and that he has made his family a prisoner in serving Voldemort. So this will make things a lot worse, and yet, it will be a paving stone for him to get back on the right track.

And yes, I feel pretty psyched up for this RP~ It's going to be interesting to see characters develop so I'm looking forward to that, as well as the aforementioned grit-and-fluff.

I did forget about, that is true. I think the reputation of his family then rested on Draco's shoulders to prove not only his loyalty but his father's as well. Thought the bond Snape makes to keep Draco safe isn't established until the fifth year at the beginning/in the summer. I'm not sure where Draco's loyalties will lie at that point, or whether or not Ron will seem the more suitable candidate to test/break in. We'll have to see.

We have a lot of drama and feels to look forward to. Harry x Hermione is my ultimate OTP so I'm happy to be working with them and Draco x Luna is also a favorite pair because both roles deserve a lot more attention and development. So I'm looking forward to what we can work out. :3

I think the bond was actually made at the beginning of the Sixth year or is my brain just that fuzzy? Because I do recall that year being the year that Draco is set to the task of killing Dumbledore, even if the Headmaster already knew that he was to die. I think I mostly just remember Draco being horribly on edge, unable to do it and struggling to go through with the plan to the point where it made him look pale and tired. Either way, we can have Snape still carry out the killing because Dumbledore asked and the fact that he was already dying from the Horcrux Ring's Curse is also a thing.

I love Drama and Feels, but the squishy sweet moments will be the moment where I start just saying "D'aaaw" with every OOC post because I'm a softie like that. It's funny cause I've always thought of Harry x Hermione from the very beginning...They just seemed to click better. When it switched to being a Ron x Hermione thing I was like "Oh, okay." and same with Harry x Ginny. But whilst Harry and Hermione was my first OTP, I always loved Luna for being so dotty and off in her own world. She just made things feel pretty interesting.

And I didn't like Draco too much at first, I think it had to be the fourth or fifth book where I started to find him more interesting. Never considered him with Luna though, which is what has me so looking forward to this roleplay - Because now that I think about it, they would be a very unique match. Unique in the good sense mind, not bad.

EDIT: I gotta go sleep, it is nearly 1AM over here in British-Land. And if there is a starter up when I wake up tomorrow, I guarantee I will reply.

It's so easy to mix up those years since not a lot really happened at the school, most of it was pretty low. I mean the D.A wasn't really 'school' it was more sneaking around and the horcrux issue didn't come up until late in the sixth year. Argh. I wish I had my collection of books, that's what I get for people burrowing them. >___> Ahem.

I love fluff and 'aw moments' and in HP, you need a bunch of them! I think cute moments help people develop and change as much as hardship and stress. Some people love drama and it's good and all but it just makes me all tense. >__>' I saw Harry x Hermione from the first book and I had no idea where Ron came from. I can see why he'd like her but I can't see why Harry didn't have something for his best female friend. Luna was a good add to the cast but I wish we saw her sooner so there was more to find out.

I didn't pay mind to Draco since he sort of vanished, in my mind. I thought he was gonna be a main guy but he wasn't around except to make a comment or get punched in the face. As I grew up, I began to feel sorry for him since I feel like his intentions to befriend Harry were honest but he did make a bit of an arse out of himself. >__> I think Luna and Draco are both loners, in a sense, struggling to be accepted as they are. And let's also face it, they're both pretty good looking together. The same can be said for Harry & Hermione though.

Ahem, I'm working on a post. I swear! I'm really slow since I had to help around the house but I hope to get it up before I go to bed, but hopefully it's also before you wake up. ^^;

EDIT - Got part of it done but should turn in for the night, I'll hop on tomorrow and finish it during the afternoon though~

I want my books back. They all got given away to the local charity shop because I had too many books so there went all my Harry Potter books. I guess I could use the movies for reference but then again there is a lot the movies had to cut out, and even then I need to go get them out from storage - Had a look yesterday for them and could only find two copies of The Deathly Hallows Part 1, and then a copy of The Deathly Hallow Part 2. And for the life of me, couldn't find the box set.

I honestly got to the point where Luna was introduced and was just wondering if we could of had her introduced earlier because she just seemed a pretty fun character who would of been more interesting to develop than some other characters. And maybe it's because of Luna, but I always remember that "Order of the Phoenix" was my favourite book and movie. Though it's funny to note that was my mum's least favourite movie. She hated Umbridge too much to enjoy the movie but a part of me really liked just how twisted Umbridge was - Made her eventual comeuppance all the more satisfying.

I think Draco and Luna are a good match, as they both rely more on themselves than others. But whilst Draco is struggling to gain more acceptance with his Slytherin peers, I see it as Luna just ends up just being herself, not caring what others think of her too much where as with Draco is trying to look good to get more friends even if at heart he's more of a loner. So they might just end up teaching each other some valuable lessons, like Luna will teach him that it is okay to be yourself. And welp, my cute-o-meter just went off when I remembered something.

So at the end of Order of the Phoenix when Sirius is dead, Luna comforts Harry. Throw that out the window, so Hermione can comfort him of course, because OTP reigns supreme, and since Draco will obviously be a little upset with the fact his father is now in Azkaban Prison, I see the scene now where Luna approaches him whilst she's looking for her lost possessions and sympathises over the loss of a parent figure in his life, and depending on how close or how much they trust each other at this point, Luna would mention how she doesn't have a mother any more, and how she understands how having one of your parents vanishing from your life is difficult. But then she'll take his hand gently, give it a light squeeze and repeat the same line she says to Harry regarding Sirius, but this time for Draco.

"Anyway, my mum always said that the things we lose have a way of coming back to us in the end. Even if not in the way we always expect," She then looks up to see her shoes hanging from the archway, and she can't help but smile a little.

Meanwhile, I think for Harry and Hermione, I think Hermione will have her work cut out for her because there's also the loss of Ron as a friend and Sirius' death that she has to cheer Harry up over. I can imagine her putting her arm around Harry as they are sat by the fire in Gryffindor Tower. They are the only ones there and whilst she's trying to comfort him, Harry gets the notion about perhaps Sirius coming back to him as a ghost, and when Nearly Headless Nick passes by, he asks about it. So when Nick tells him that Sirius will not come back as he probably moved on, there will be a harder punch to the feels and more need for Hermione to make him feel better. In the end, I see her trying to get him to come down to the final feast of the year regardless, as being around his real friends would be better than moping.

There is no need to rush a post at all with me. I'm a very patient person when it comes to roleplay. Gotta remember we have lives outside this forum after all, and I woke up late again like an idiot, even though I went to bed somewhat early.
